Sessler is considerably better than anyone on G4’s payroll even at his worst. Especially Periera.
I never had the channels when they were separated so i dont know about the glory days. But maybe about 3 weeks ago after 8 years there is finally cable is back in my house so i check out G4 and the only game show are x-play which i don’t watch cus I find the host annoying, reviews on the run, EP weekly and EP daily.
But lol now i find out that G4 in the US doesn’t get Reviews on the Run and Electronic Playground, so do u guys only have 1 game related show on the network?

oh cinematech… good times, before it became cinematech: nocturnal emissions (or something like that) which usually had some sex appeal games like DOA and such. afterwards it disappeared from the face of the earth. one of the only trailers i remember watching was the dragon quest viii trailer which was so hype to me at the time.
i didn’t mind watching ninja warrior whenever it’s on. i do hate it when shitty athletes waste airtime failing the first obstacle that even a fatass like me could do, unless they’re a hot japanese girl in a shirt that see-through when wet, but then again, i’m pretty sure they separated the genders in the more recent tournaments and the women are stuck with extreme balance obstacles.
i never really liked unbeatable banzuke for some reason.
x-play is meh nowadays, attack of the show i never really liked either.
Yup t’was the good ol’days. I even did a search earlier and found the gamespot episodes where Sessler was covering the freakin’ DREAMCAST on launch.
Also take note that since way back when on the channel’s inception, back when it was originally called ZDTV in early 1998, Adam Sessler is the ONLY guy still around today who was there from the very beginning.
Anyway i’ve always liked sessler, he struck me as the “genuine” gaming nerd on there.
Not some jackass who only pretends to be into the gaming/geek stuff because it was their job to do so.
I’m 19 going on 20 this June, Tech TV and G4 (I didn’t really know about Tech TV until right before they merged, probably didn’t get it). G4 came out in what 2002? I think? So that means I was 12 years old, so yea I guess I was about 10 years old back then.
Too busy playing SSF4 on the TV to actually watch programs on it. They still air COPS and Cheaters? Is G4’s current target demographic the tech savvy trailer trash?
Yup. As well as watered down X-Play and Attack of the Slow.

ZDTV… that was good stuff. Internet Tonight, The Screen Savers, Call for Help, Silicon Spin (the most insightful show on tech business EVER, now fulfilled by Cranky Geeks podcast online), the funny mall cop guy who had his 2 minute things… and was awful and hillarious… Yeah… those were good days.
Tech TV… not quite as good, but still good. some new people were eh but they were there at the height of the tech bubble… anyone remember when Red Hat opened its IPO and it went straight from 1.20 to 250 per share in 2 days??? Tech TV was there…
G4… you know when you were a video game channel… you were pretty damn good! You had some unique hosts, new personalities, you were a poorly funded gamer’s cable TV station… and it was fantastic…
Then the merger happened… and in 6 months it was on life support, now G4 isn’t even 1/20th of what it used to be. Cops and Cheaters Marathons? Web Soup is mildly entertaining for the first… 5 minutes… Attack of the Show was supposed to supplant the Screen Savers and instead turned into an hour long geek fest of salivating over Olivia Munn…
This my friends are the solutions for the following problems.
ZDTV - If you liked the old Screen Savers / Silicon Spin stuff, you could watch Tekzilla on Revision3. No, its not Leo Laporte on the Screen Savers but Patrick Norton is good and the other girl doesn’t annoy me near as much anymore… except her Mac addiction… Cranky Geeks is hosted on Mevio I think and is the successor show to Silicon Spin still hosted by John C. Dvorak… good stuff. Also, check out the TWIT.TV podcasts all done by Leo Laporte… so much good techie goodness there. All in audio on the go! If you’re really geeky you can watch his live recordings… I mean we’re the type of people who watch SF on stream so we’ll watch anything 
Old G4 - Pretty much the rest of Revision 3 is what G4 kinda used to be… with some twists. Totally Rad Show reviews all things entertainment, Co-Op is especially for games, comic book stuff, anime stuff, all sorts of shows on there nowadays…
If you like the current G4… I’m sorry, go get a CT Scan… then sit down for the International Sexy Ladies Show with your rubber… and keep lining pockets for people in charge of a terrible network.
I’m not sure if it was after the two channels merged but I really enjoyed the XPlay review of Final Fantasy XI. Just the way they described killing normal bunnies until they happened upon an uber bunny which stomped on them I found somewhat hilarious. Maybe less so if you’ve never played the game… but :3
I miss the poorly done X-Play skits. It’s like the network gave them a bigger budget just to make them stop the shenanigans. For me, things weren’t the same the day they replaced the announcer.
O. G4 TV was way better than the garbage they call a video gaming channel today… wasn’t really into television anyway was always too busy playing games until I discovered G4TV one day… X-Play’s horrible skits were fucking awesome… now its a horribly boring video game talk show imo…

I can’t/won’t/don’t even know how or why it is the way it is today. I was, at one point allowed to play video games, then shit just went downhill from there. I just got home from a party, and I flip on my TV real quick to see what’s on everybody’s favorite video game network, GUESS WHAT?!!?!?!?!??!

Adam Sessler should get working with those idiots on G4. His blog just about owns everything on the channel itself. I never really cared for Kevin and Olivia because of the fact they are most likely acting out liking video games.
