What grinds your gears?

Losing to players far below my skill level. I’m really not trying to badmouth or demean anybody, but online I see people doing jump back fireball, or jump RH into bnb, or a multi page list of braindead shit in MvC3. I get salty whether I win or lose. I just hope I’m still into games when netplay becomes viable.

  • People who mash, then get upset when you polity confront them about it.

(X) - How did I just lose to that scrub
(Y) - Maybe if you stop mashing dude
(X) - Fuck you…Shut up

  • When people call players that are new, or in the progress of learning scrubs.

  • People who excessively talk shit about other people’s error’s in there play-styles. But have a world of excuses whenever they fuck up them selves.

  • Hell excessive shit talkers in general.

  • People who taunt after beating down someone far beyond there skill level. There is NO dignity in that

  • People who judge gameplay by PP.

I swear some of those 2000-3000-4000 PP Only rooms are fucking retarded. There so many godlike people who just chill in endless and never touch ranked.

  • People on GGPO who leave after you beat them once.
  1. People that complain about threads but reply anyway.

  2. Losing because of my own poor/slow decision making and reaction.

  3. Online lag.

People who react before they (precisely) think.

In gaming, posting comments, shit… in life in general

Getting caught in the Magneto vortex used to really grind my gears.

Lows that look like overheads.

People that give vague directions and get mad when you don’t meet them at a specific point. So the fuck what if you told me to meet you at dekalb, how the fuck was i supposed to know you were in the fucking Pizza Shop.

When I Lose Kappa

When I’m in a lobby and some Guy is on the Michael talking like he’s top notch shit. I play him and the Guy is just dumbfoundead and tries to find every excuse he can to try to save face.

When i beat someone in a “good” (in terms of lag) game and they hate mail me calling me a lagger.

SF4 trolls. I’m horrible at that game’s offense so when all they do is back jump @ full screen the whole round I get pretty irritated. That’s kinda why I stopped playing sf4 in the first place. Fml.

But it feels good when i recognize sf4 names on 3soe. Then its somewhat different in results.

Yoshiro Ono, and the Ono’s in particular, grind my gears.

Just look at his cousin, he’s an asshole:

People who say “I wasn’t on my game, and I would have won if I was”. I know because I used to do it, and looking back, it’s really obnoxious. It doesn’t matter what happens in the hypothetical bs world “I would have won” in, what matters is that I got my ass plastered.

It just undermines the rush a player feels from winning when their opponent can do nothing but whine about how they could have won at their best.

People who mash buttons. Even worse when you fuggin’ obliterate them and tell them to stop mashing but they continue to do it.

Street Fighter 4 for encouraging mashing.

The fighting game community at large not supporting enough smaller/indie games and always buying Capcom games no matter what.

And laggy players that swear up and down that it’s fine and yet teleporting and dropped inputs are obvious.

Why wait till they’re stunned a real taunter should know when it is safe to taunt(or use it as a dodge like Lilith in Vsav).

I taunt in more than just stuns, but it’s a prime example of exactly where I’m going to should I bother.

In retrospect, let’s add another;

8: People in my local scene stalking my SRK posts and mocking me even further in said posts and I apparently said something about some guy I don’t even know and didn’t have a clue who they were until my boyfriend pieced it together for me using about 20 different clues.
(Have fun with this one boys  <3)

9: When my oven doesn’t heat fast enough. I hate electric ovens! Give me my pasta bake!

10: When my tablet decides to just keep flashing the light and not actually register any pen movement.

repost from mvc3 forum:

I really dislike his game’s use of special-special chains, specially with teleports. I’m really like Vergil right now, but his DP into telport makes no sense and it’s like a simple mode that you can’t turn off. One button to teleport but only in that situation wtf? a situation where you shouldn’t be able to use special moves? It’s better than Dante’s one destination scrubathon, and I understand that they want to dumb the game down for new people (i actually do), but please let me have the option to control my character using the universal rules of the game.

plus think of how much of a better place to live Earth would be if it were not for Wesker’s gun into teleport. why one button? WHY!?

-People mistaking “decent” for “too good”

-People calling SF4 Bison’s Knee Press pressure a “trap”

-The Campaign for the Eradication of Useful Throws

-The Campaign for the Eradication of Chip Damage

-Excessive damage scaling

-Bad hit detection

-Intentionally useless moves

-Hating on Tekken combos just because the opponent is in the air during them. How many dozen other other fighters are the same or similar?

-“Weeaboo fighter”, “loli fighter”. The game was made for Japan first and foremost(It might not be localized in the first place). “Hey, what do you think of ‘Never Getting a Western Release Fighter Actress Core’?” “Weeaboo shit, man.” I’ve seen 20something year old, 5’9", C-cup women called lolis on this very site.

What grinds me gears?
Choking(feels bad man)
Better players who make so many mistakes trying to go for a stylish victory against a weaker player. This gets on my nerves mainly because when these said players get blown up for making so many mistakes they have the nerve to get salty and blame the person that beat them just because they didn’t sit still and “take the beating”.
Akane Inukawa from Arcana Heart 3
3S:OE’s terrible online community.
Stun Gun Alex
Low tier heroes-A lot of these guys just come off as smug condescending bastards. Especially when they have the gall to blame their losses on the fact that they’re playing a low tier character.
SF4’s Denjin Hadouken
Console wars based on the “2 frame delay” arguement.
I could go on and on and on.

People talking about good netcode not being important.

Sure I wouldn’t want to be trying to do tournaments or money matchs over the net, but good netcode is good for guarenteed regular practice for people who don’t have a local scene, and if you can get that in then you are more likely to splash out on traveling down to a tournament when funds allow.

Casuals bitching about arcade sticks and then moaning when they are playing a game on a different console to what they learnt it on and they are struggling with the controller change.

When someone who would probably enjoy a fighter is he gave it a chance (not in a “it’s a good game” way but from what he’s played before and his preffered playstyle) instantly dismisses it because of the character design and fanbase.

People who believe that it is impossible to have fun whilst playing to win.

Intentionaly bad characters, not too many offenders these days since devs seem to have wised up to the idea that no-one is going to come to a game and say “Man I wish there was a suckier character here so I could lose more”, but picked up Bleach DS again recently and found characters which seem to have been made to suck just to show they are a joke character, makes no sense.
