What grinds your gears in BB?

Hazama can zone very well, So having to work for damage isn’t that bad when you’re opponent is having a nightmare trying to catch you. What exactly did they remove in CSEX? 3C CH still takes like 4K for free without any loops or shit.

Yeah but people who know what they’re doing watch for that shit for that exact reason, and he needs to burn meter on Houtenjin or land a raw 214D~C to get the same damage if you cant land CH 3C

As for what they removed? As far as specifics go, I haven’t played him a huge amount, but all his chains feel sluggish and a lot of his inputs feel tighter across the board, particularly it feels much tighter to land 3C>214D~A (and online? Pssh, Haz was hard enough to play with a bad connection already), they put repeat proration on his 6C (Which is why everyone uses the Hirentotsu loop in the corner now), and they removed his invuln during Bloody Fangs (which limits its uses pretty much solely to mixups).

I think his combo damage was an issue in CS2, once you got 50 heat it was piss easy to confirm into Houtenjin and combo that heat back while doing huge damage at the same time. They could’ve easily just increased his damage scaling to fix that though, instead they nerf 6C and nerf the heat gain off of Houtenjin, and that resulted in everyone using his Hirentotsu loop to get the same stupid amount of damage and meter anyways

All I’m saying is that his tools weren’t exactly “broken” in CS2, he just did a stupid amount of damage and gained way too much meter (as much as I love it, there’s noreason he should build 50 meter off of USING 50 meter on Houtenjin). Instead they nerfed the tools themselves, which made an already hard character HARDER to play, and that just irks me…

Oh well, at least I main Valkenhayn too, so playing him in CS:EX makes me feel like a god xD

Yeah, but I’m pretty sure the Taokaka matchup is a rather…unpleasant one for Hazama players since mobility is one of his advantages, and Tao’s the most mobile character in the cast.

It’s more complicated than that - they can just “increase his damage scaling” (if by that you mean “lower his combo modifier”) but that risks breaking absolutely everything he has, AND it makes everything you do guaranteed to be less effective. It’s really a fix of last resort compared to adjusting individual tools.

Fixing the heat gain after Jayoku was absolutely the right thing to do, and I would argue that repeat proration on 6C was the right thing to do also (Though I should point out that I don’t actually see anything about it in the frame data. @_@), just that they -missed- the issue with Hirentotsu; Adding repeat proration to that would’ve broken the loop and straightened things out. Would that have meant that he wouldn’t be able to do the “same damage Ragna and Valkenhayn do while sleeping”? Probably. But I would argue that’s a problem with Ragna and Valk, who inexplicably dodged the EX nerf train, rather than a problem with Hazama.

I’ll agree with you on fixing the Heat gain after Sweet Chin Music, since it pretty much let a bunch of loops and proration come up. But that being said, I didn’t think it was something super game breaking, an a number of changes to him kind of confused me a little bit, to be honest.

The vast majority of the changes made to characters in EX confuse ME a bit, so I don’t think that Hazama is particularly special in that regard.

I don’t understand why Ragna got buffed at all. He was a very solid character in CS2. And it confuses me more that the nerfed Tsubaki to oblivion.

That aside. Valkenhayn.

Whilst he gets ridiculous damage and his mixup is beyond good. I honestly have no problem killing scrub Valks. They do nothing but Dash wolf full screen hoping i dont know it’s an overhead, bite me 3 times and then get punished with 5B from crouching. His human form is easy enough to block, but when wolf cannon is involved I just spam 2D with no shame.

And finally Hazama.

In CS2 Jayoku was kind of “OP” with the whole gaining back 50 heat. His command grab was also amazing when the opponent was in the corner (Destroyed neutral techs) and his chain was (And still is) the best zoning tool in the game.

Yet I didn’t mind fighting him, he was hardly broken or even S tier. Take away his heat gain and obviously give the 6C repeat prorate. And that would of been fine.

Not having any of the English voices available for announcers

Japanese speakers trying to speak English sounds about as ridiculous as the other way around and it is pretty annoying to have to listen to. I’d totally pay for, say, Tager’s English voice actor to be a replacement for the announcer.

Valk is definitely a high-skill character - he CAN be a massive force of destruction, but very few people master him to the degree necessary to bring out his potential.

Still, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have brought his potential a little more in line with the rest of the cast.

Don’t get me started on Ragna and Tsubaki. -_-

I would like to be able to zone with Lambda without being obliterated by rushdown.

Bang wearing clothes. His manliness should be allowed to be free like in his astral finish.

I would have liked for Skullgirls to not ruin BB for me

Sent using my imagination

I would have liked for people to realize that supporting Skullgirls doesn’t mean you have to crap on BB and feel it’s inferior despite it not being that, lol. Well, and for people to be consistent in things they like/dislike.

Who’s crapping on BB (apart from everyone who has been doing since way before SG)? Just saying I personally can’t go back, which is a shame.

Let’s just say, don’t go to the GameFAQs boards. Everyone on the Skullgirls boards is hating on Blazblue for being “anime and loli filled”, and everyone on the BB boards is either hating on the SG community by calling them hypocrites, fucktards, etc, and ranging in terms of everything from “both SG, BB, and AH3 are good”, to “BB is good, the others suck”, to “fuck all of these weabo games”.

There are few people in gaming that match Peacock’s swag.

One of these people is Hazama.

Of course my BB time will still be significantly diminished simply because I don’t have any friends that play it while I’ve been able to convert many more people into getting Skullgirls but I don’t think any less of the former because of the latter.

I find this vaguely disturbing.

Get better. Lambda is THOROUGHLY capable of keeping rushdown out in this game.

I dunno what is man but I’ve had a much easier time getting people to play Skullgirls than BB. I really have no idea why but it is what it is.

Probably because Skullgirls is the “new thing”.

finding locals to play with

:frowning: i only know two people
