okay a game with 60+ characters from a company that is more well-known for putting in gimmicks and extras to appease the general gamer than anything else
that’s cool and everything and i bet the game would be a fun rental but it doesn’t make it a good tournament fighter. how is a lackluster development team going to make a bug-free, solid game with 60+ characters in it? it’s not like they are world reknowned for successful innovations in gameplay hahahaha

After reading the entire thread I can see people are showing some love for KOF XI and NGBC, and my team and I would I agree on. This two game are the SNK tittles that have the best chances for EVO 06 since NGBC is already out for JAP PS2 and KOF XI should be relising soon. Now we need to concider location, if it takes place in Las Vegas there will be a smaller turnout, but if it is SoCal the number will easily multiply. Its not a request its a fact.
Another vote for NGBC and KOFXI. Why? Because Evo needs to be spiced up and these two games need to get the nod…both are outstanding.
SF2:Turbo Hyper Fighting: Once this hits XBLA the amount of players should be off the hook. I can see a lot of support for this game this year.

CvS2 (The best SF of the newer generation)
MvC2 (I hate it, but it will draw people and thats always good)
HSF:AE (A blast from the past for old school gamers with a new twist: oldschool players get over it… learn this game)
SF3:3s (Probably the second best SF of the newer generation)
T5:DR (Latest Tekken Game, side note:No More TTT please)
DOA 4 (As per my previous post this is where SRK should look for sponserships, they actually made this playable)
GGXX Slash (IMO the best fighting game on the market)
KOF XI or NGBC (While I’m not the biggest SNK fan, I agree SNK should have a place in a modern fighting game community. They’ve been producing some real good games lately and giving them one game to see how the turnout is going to be should be considered)
Format is fine, this is the US and we should do it like how the US does it… 2 outta 3, winner stays w/ the same character, losers can change character.
The only thing i request at Evo is “please have a table in front of the TV’s so we can lay our stick on and play.”
when will people realize, dark ressurection will not be an evo game simply for the fact that there is no console version, and i highly doubt a console release will hit before then, even moreso, a localized version. hell not even 5.1 will be a tourney game at evo. get over it people. seriously.
ngbc? i hear that game is already dead as hell everywhere from major balancing issues. kofxi, dunno, looks good tho for an snk game.
doa4 should definitely be in the linup no matter how crappy i think the series is. its popular as shit, and it can draw the numbers too, and bring in new potential players willing to learn other games and realize theres more than just doa out there lol…
ggxx slash, while it would be great to have as well as t5:DR, is another game that cant make the lineup. and will not have localization on ps2 ever cuz of sony. xbox maybe after evo is already done lol. and who knows if it hits japan ps2 in time. even so, most american players (like 99% of them) will have zero access to the game regardless just for the fact that there will more than likely be no arcade localization either, unless you live near one of those arcades like ctf or a couple obscure arcades in the us that is willing to import the board. which still only gives a few people access. making it pointless. its not happening
GGXX Slash hits Japanese consoles on April 20th.
either way, no plans for us release. you add the game to the lineup, its gonna be a joke and completely random since 98% of the people signed up, have absolutely no clue on drastic changes and such. while little timmy from kentucky wins the tourney (if no japanese came lol) cuz he had a modded ps2 and “resources” to acquire the game to get acquainted with the game and learn the differences and get the unfair advantage… its stupid. unlless of course, the majority stiull wants slash at the tourney, even if they never touched it…
As much as I hate, nigh, DESPISE Smash Bros. and the ugly virgin annoying fat kid nerds it attracts to tournaments, I say have it. I mean shit, that is just free money for SRK.

Would anyone mind doing a point counter point with my post on page 5 about team tournaments? I apologize the language is a bit retarded, but I would like to know what the serious points are against team matches for this game. We do not need to blanket all games with the same rules, certain games will be better suited for different rules, and this feels like one of those games…
I don’t see why slash would be a team game and cvs2 and some other game wouldn’t be, there is no inherit team mode in the game, or anything that would indicate a need to run a team tourney. Also, going to teams and new formats would conflict with everything else in the lineup, as well as bring about questions of how to handle import ps2s and games.
I think the solution here is the same as ST, evo should use the most publicly available version of the game, which will be fine for most people (slash will have only been out 3 months by then anyway), and if people want to bring import PS2s and run slash alongside that then go for it. Discussing a team event for that would then be an option.
blink 98% of the people that would sign will know more than just the drastic changes, but character specific and matchup changes as well. Anyone that’s good at Guilty Gear studies Guilty Gear on Guilty Gear websites with other people that really know Guilty Gear. Just because there’s no big informative community on SRK doesn’t mean one’s out there.
We pretty much all know what’s up and are ready for it immediately. The entire GG community already downloads or imports #Reload. We don’t play xbox. Nolthing has to be American. It doesn’t matter, if it’s out, we know what the deal is, we’ve got it and we travel to play it. The game will be played a few months before evo and it won’t take all that long to get used to the changes.
I guess scenes on new/current games are so much different from capcom scenes for a lot of people to…get shrug. Most GG players double as anime/internet nerds so we know shit.
