If this game was remade it would be tough competition for VF5:FS and DOA5U.
Just have to make sure XTAL gets nerfed because he’s worse than any SNK boss I’ve ever faced.

KOF '98 includes two mode. KOF XIII is “Advanced” mode in steroids, so I don’t think there’s a need of including '98 Advance Groove, nor any other custome combo mode (A-Groove, for example), KOF XIII’s groove represent this.
If you mean the KOF 98UM Extra mode, then I concur I think it improved the original KOF 98’s Extra mode.
Here’s my breakdown:
GROOVE 1. Street Fighter III.
Dash.
Parry.
Free Supercancel.
EX moves.
Evasive attack (press two mediums/two lights) and you perform the the hopping attack.
GROOVE 2. Street Fighter IV
Dash.
Focus attack.
Ultra combo and Super combo gauge (with free supercancel).
EX moves.
Focus Attack Dash Cancel.
GROOVE 3. KOF '98 UM Extra Mode
Dash.
Short hop.
Dodge and dodge cancels.
'98 UM Extra Gauge (you can charge energy and once you’re done you get a super stock to explode and increase damage or use the super; you can use supers when you’re life is red, you perform SDM when youre life is red and you have a super stock).
GROOVE 4. KOF XIII
Short hop.
Run.
Roll.
Drive Gauge to perform cancels and enter HD Mode.
EX moves and EX supermoves.
NEO MAX supermove.
It will be cool if the command to escape from a throw depends on the groove the opponent is using, for example if you’re fighting Groove 4-Ryo, you can escape his throws via f/b + Strong punch or Strong kick. But if you’re fighting Groove 1 or Groove 2-Ryo, you need to input MP+MK as soon as he tries to throw you.
I’d also like if every groove make little adjustments to the character, for example, if you choose any of the KOF grooves with Ryu, you can cancel any close normal into his f+LP, to make him combo more like a KOF character.
Air Blocking (of course it works like alpha air blocking, can’t block grounded normal attacks)

It depends on who is in the roster. If it’s Street Fighter vs KOF again, better no.

Whatever, pursuit attack would be kind of nice, specially because Fatal Fury games had something like that (didn’t pursue but they were otg hits).
A “simple mode” would be cool. But you know, no one’s playing Samurai Shodown now, just like Street Fighter Alpha. That’s why I’d like those grooves to go away. I think SFIV and '98UM Extra Mode are kind of simple.
I like this 100%. Sonic Battle was the shit. I wasted so many hours trying to better my skill in that game lol. I had a mean Tails and Rouge. Homing bombs too op.

I agree with most of it, but Gamma should be in Mid and Sonic and Amy should be high. If customized right, Emerl is broken as fuck lol
