You should read some of the youtube replies to this video. Stuff along the lines of “Daigo is GOD! The other guy didn’t stand a chance.” Or Daigo is the***best fighting game player in the world***" Things along those lines. Usually from people who fab over high level play but don’t really play the games themselves or know the scenes.
Sometimes I get so mad I’m tempted to even reply, but what would I look like arguing with someone over Youtube’s messenger?
I’m going to say it’s a toss up from either 3s or Arcana Hearts 2. Knowing how satisfying it is to pull of a huge combo in AH makes the video all the more enjoyable.
I’m going to get torched for this, but I still like watching good AI matches with M.U.G.E.N when both sides are tough but balanced. Makes for great debugging too.
It’s interesting to see that VF and ST are such popular mentions… surprising to me, at least! I 100% agree with both of them, I just didn’t expect that many of you would share those tastes. I always kinda figured that only ST players would like watching ST nowadays, and VF gets so little play game in North America. Never would’ve guessed.
Any matches with a good commentator or tons of spectators cheering and going nuts seems more fun to me. Knee-jerk human response. I’ll watch just about anything when everyone there sounds like they’re really excited about it.

Real Bout FF 1-Never played it, never will but hella funny ass matches. 2D fighter with ringouts, wtfrofl? This is the funniest snk fighter ever. My friends and me were laughing so hard watching a match. Didn’t even know this game was that good, it went under the radar with me. Look @ Duck King dance before a round. That is hilarious.

3rd Strike. I enjoy those Chun Li vs Chun Li match ups. Most people think it’s boring but I love it! CHUN VS CHUN ALL DAY! Oh yea and can’t forget about Hayao’s amazing Hugo videos
by the way, why do people hate daigo so much? Isn’t Wong vs Daigo “high level” play? Weren’t most of the people who were at evo that year AMAZED by the daigo full parry? I’m still amazed at it because it was a pretty clutch situation at such a BIG TOURNAMENT! But now that everyone and their moms can full parry everything in training mode on the PS2 they think daigo’s full parry was cake. lol, whatever i guess.

Playing and watching CvS2 in person is fun but boring to watch on video
People didn’t really get into 3S until after that moment, most Americans sucked back then, including Justin Wong (compared to the Japs) at 3S back then. Hell, it was like Japan would just send anyone and the US would lose. To Americans at that time that was high level play. People don’t really hate Daigo, it’s just that a lot of people get pissed off when American players worship another player simply because they’re from Japan. “OMG THAT’S DAIGO HE’S FROM JAPAN OMG HE BEAT ALL OF US HOW HE DO THAT OMG!!!111oneone.” At that time, there was actually so much distance between Ken and Chun that Daigo had more than enough time to prepare and parry and perform a textbook combo.
Hayao is good with Hugo, Kuroda taught him how to play Hugo just like he taught RX how to play Urien, so they learned from the best. If you can find matches of Kuroda then watch them, most of his matches are either DVD or private, and linking any of them on this site will be an instant ban. I don’t know how you can watch Chun vs Chun, yea to learn I’ll watch high level to improve, but I can’t stand watching Chun and Ken over and over. Think about it. What’s simpler? During a tournament to just basic parry Chun from such a large distance or to red parry on reaction with instant gigas consistently? Kuroda be straight up red parrying wake up specials into supers and red parrying on the next hit. He also just grabs people out of dashes, out of jumps, before you even poke, some insane shit.
Instead of Americans always watching the Japanese, they need to step their shit up so the Japanese would be watching Americans to learn how to play, although they probably don’t give a shit.
“During a tournament to just basic parry Chun from such a large distance or to red parry on reaction with instant gigas consistently?”
I haven’t seen footage of this before. Red parry on reaction to instant gigas in a tournament by Kuroda? Where? or When I should ask? I’ve seen Kuroda’s red parrys and stuff, its cool and all but I believe the footages were just casuals. Its a lot easier to attempt red parry in casual matches than in actual tournament matches.
Anyway, I don’t enjoy Kuroda’s Q. I like his Akuma, his yun is ok. Seen some of his Hugo it was all right. I like Chun vs Chun because its a battle of spacing and reaction. Ken mirrors are fun too.
I still enjoy 3rd Strike overall over other fighting games though.
for those people hyping up kuroda hugo’s red parry into 720… he most likely just regular parried the first hit and started mashing 720, which caused the next hit to be blocked, the hit after to be red parried, and then the 720 to come out in between.
if he did indeed consciously red parry a hit of ryu’s SA1, and then input the full 720 before the next hit of the super fireball… he must have a programmable stick for a hand.
I learned long ago that YouTube comments are some of the dumbest things you could ever read. I sometimes mistakenly read comments when I see a video that maybe has a cool song, or is footage from a movie / anime / game / song / what have you that doesn’t have the name listed in the title or description, thinking I may find the answer. Instead what I find is a festering hive of stupidity, rivaled only by MySpace blogs and LiveJournal entries.
Just ignore them, and be assured by the knowledge that some day those people will die and take their stupidity to the grave with them… unless they have kids. shiver
