i think that if top 3rd strike players were a lot less beastly (like if we had no RX) and if there wasn’t so much juggling for that lovable EI EI EI EI EI EI EI EI then it’d be a lot less fun to watch

and i find MvC2 pretty fun to watch for someone that doesn’t play it at all (but does know a fair bit about it)

I don’t know, I find 3S the least interesting arcade game to watch ever for high level play. I play lots of different fighting games and am starting to get into collecting Arcade fighting games (on arcade hardware) so I’ve been watching match vids on youtube to see what games interest me and I have to say, I may pick up 3S one day, but only because it’s popular, not because it interests me in the least. I mean every high level match I watch seems to be Chun, Ken, or Yun atleast 90% of the time. Oh Chun is playing footie and when one connects she’ll link it to a super how exciting… Seriously high level play for 3S makes the game seem boring to me, where’s the variety?

You and people who think like you simply havent looked hard enough. Ive watched plenty of low tier players, that win too. 3S’s horrible balance dictates people to be tier whores, who cant win otherwise. They use cheap/broken characters to win.

However there are people with dignity who use mid-low tier simply for the fact that they can prove the point that they can win without using the top 8 characters in the game (Chun-Urien/Ryu).

If you can win with non-easy ass shotos or mid-low tier against tier whores then you deserve that respect. Thats why I main Alex. Its an uphill battle and someone’s gotta respresent 3rd Strike with its main character. I Fight For The Future!

Third Strike. Reason is because you don’t just see the top characters winning all the time like most other fighters. Sure, Urien and Chun-Li seem to be favorites among players, but I’ve seen people who are just as great with Remy and Sean. It’s not like, say, MvC2 where you just see MAGNETO, BLACKHEART, STORM, SENTINEL (no offense to MvC2 players though).

hmm blackheart? When have you seen blackheart used in any recent tournament? Blackheart is like 2000 top tier, now he’s down in the middle with the rest of the cast that can’t compete.

Also Urien? He’s good but no Chun, Yun or Ken. Look at recent evo results and see how many Chuns and Yuns ha ve placed the last few years.

For me, its ST and nothing else (well EX3 but I can’t really say that high level EX3 has ever been discovered, same with SF4, though SF4 is still too new to really say that anything is at a high level, give it a few years as the strats and tiers work themselves out and then we’ll see high level play).
