In addition to the other ant-bot suggestions here what if there were only certain hours for new member registration? I’ve noticed that there are specific hours when the flood of bot posts come in, so perhaps not allowing registration around those times could help?

Funny how when you google these spammers’ names, you can usually see their profiles from other sites on the result page with their location given as Pakistan or Afghanistan…cyber-assault on the west? They’ve been spamming the shit out of OTHER sites as well. I think they’re upset about something. I also think they should suck it up, act like men and air their grievances instead of acting like little cowardly children trying to clutter up american sites. (I have no idea how this paragraph is a link to his account page. It just did that on it’s own.)

There isn’t enough content on GD to stand on its own without game discussion. There used to be years ago, but times changed. This place would really dry up (and would get really fucking disturbing, I think) if yet another GD sub-topic upgraded to its own board. And like the comic board, there’s no guarantee that a general gaming board would get enough traffic either.

I think the guarantee would be that it would be that everyone who doesn’t want to talk about fighting games will go to General Video Game Discussion. When people go into old GD they’ll go “Where’s the video games” and then get redirected to that board. I mean have you seen how many active video game threads we have already. If it’s not crazy news or stories it’s a thread about video games in GD. Plus SRKers are analytical as hell thanks to playing fighting games so much. We are going to want to discuss other games and their systems with other players.

But I will concide that GD will get less traffic if a VGD is created. I think it is the responsibility of SRK to promote it’s other boards though. Like show General Discussion on the front page as an option. And in the main board listing put some of the most heated topics from GD and the other boards like Comic Book or Tech. Or maybe get Complex to give SRK a little breathing room and make use of this damn news ticker on the bottom a bit.

Honestly, I just assumed that at least one of the OG SRK GD regulars had been banned. Banning has been more common place it seems these SRK days.
