Tequila / works in all seasons = straight, maybe in a chilled shot glass. Tequila goes well with Mexican food, tacos first, wait an hour then SHOTS.
Whiskey / best in fall and winter = neat, sometimes with a spherical ice cube, a stone ice cube, or simply a splash of water. If you must mix whiskey, try a whiskey sour. If you really feel compelled to mix whiskey, don’t do it; use bourbon instead. Bourbon is generally younger and will be less affected (and ruined) by mixing.
Vodka / best in spring and summer = absolutely anything, otherwise straight if you’re daring or Russian and it’s winter. A few basic ingredient drinks; Screwdriver (vodka + OJ), Greyhound (vodka + grapefruit), Cape Cod (vodka + cranberry), Sea Breeze (vodka + cranberry & grapefruit).
Rum / tropical (da beech) = an ice cube or two if straight, otherwise can be mixed with almost anything. Don’t order a rum & coke, and even more so don’t order a bacardi and coke, just don’t. Get a Cuba Libre Preparado (rum + dash of gin + bitters + lime) or a Dark n’ Stormy (Gosling’s + ginger beer + lime). If you really like rum, try some Cachaça and get a Caipirinha. A few of those and you’ll be flying.
Try to keep the Vodka and Rum mixes at most 2:1 if you’re a lightweight, 3:1 if you can handle your liquor.
Oh yeah my doods I take that shit to the NEXT level when I MIX my drinks.
I get all scientific on them hoes.
Take a look at this shit right here…this shit is the only thing you should be mixing your drinks with if you are a true gentleman of the night. But only if you are a scholar as well, ya dig?
You shouldn’t be mixing your drink unless its foul. As white as it is, Jaegerbombs are great, but I usually drink everything straight (with the exception of vodka if I’m not doing shots) because I actually like the taste of alcohol.
