I dropped out of Mason in '04 because instead of going to class I would play Marvel all night.
Best life decision I ever made. College is for Suckers. Waste of time and money.

My mother-in-law used to teach there. She really liked it.
my only gripe with the school was the huge amounts of students who commuted. Getting onto campus took way too long. The traffic around the school added 20 minutes to a 10 minute commute.
kingsborough community college…lol fail :wasted:
I am transferring to art institute of ny and become a graphic/web designer or just ditch everything and take ownership of one of my dad’s subway sandwich shops. its good money. college is cool but its not like I ever wanna work for anyone.
Oh yeah. GMU is not a great undergraduate school I suppose. But I did only go there for Ph.D. work.
Florida
I’m going there now. -tips hat- They’re one of the few schools that offer my major.
Cooper Union, 2009
Free School, great if you can get in, but the school is rapidly degrading
Mediatech Institute bitches :lovin:
I also have a business degree from UT
Cal State LA
aka not good enough UCLA
North Carolina Central University
10th most dangerous college campus in America
The place where the “fast break” was invented in basketball
Same place where the first open heart surgery was performed
and 9th wonder dropped out here back in 1999.
University of Baltimore. It’s…different. The school recently switched to a 4 year undergrad only a few years ago (07 when I started), so things have been in a sort of adjustment phase. It’s a commuter school, which means no dorms or things, though they have starting setting students up with housing. Also, you can really tell the faculty is still getting use to having younger students and more of them. Plus, since the students dont live together, it’s still a high school sort of environment unfortunately.
Still I like it. Good people there, and it’s the only school I know with my major (game design). Plus, tuition is fairly cheap compared to other places.
Dalton State College. Nice, relatively medium sized community college slowly converting to University. They just converted the apartment complex right across the street to dorms although to me its really the same as before (I used to live there when they were apartments). Traffic is not that big although since I walk (I’m right next door) this may be biased. It focuses more on nursing and business degrees more than anything despite the selection so if I want to further pursue my Computer Networking degree (haven’t decided on WHAT exactly I want to do) I’ll have to transfer to GA Tech or some other four year college.
Other than that, nice area if a bit quiet and lacking in people who like fighters; the grocery stores and all are pretty much within walking distance and there’s hotels constantly opening down the street in case one ever need a job.
I’ve gone to several colleges.
I was first in the Rochester Institute of Technology, first for Electrical Engineering, then for Computer Science. Too much of a sausage-fest, and way too expensive (at the time, about $26000 a semester, and it’s a trimester college). Met some cool people, though. But if I coud go back, I would not have gone to that school (and probaby never would have heard of alt.games.sf2, which led me to join this website when it was opened).
Then I went to Erie Community College for Business Administration just as a way to get my grades up cheaply for about a year and a half. It’s a 3 campus school:
North Campus is basically built on a swamp. Old, scummy building, with fecal droppings outside as far as the eye can see. Had the hottest girls, though.
City Campus is the most diverse, and has the newest buildings. A bit on the ghetto-side though. Overall, my favorite campus.
I only had one class on South Campus, but from what I saw the student body was mostly white, suburban, sheltered, stuck-up (despite that fact that they are in a community college), ignorant, and raciest.
Now I’m a student at the University at Buffalo for Business Administration with a consentration in International Business. I love this school. Great professors, top-of-the-line ammenities, low tuition, and a great reputation. A mostly smart, cool, and diverse student body.
My RIT buddies might not like to hear me say this, but I hold my allegance to UB. I through away my RIT Tigers gear and replaced it with UB Bulls stuff.
Seattle University and now Baylor Law School.
Seattle -> Waco.
Rage.
imo.
i go to a college with a lot of white people.
LOL, I love this guy
Well, it doesn’t really matter where you go for undergrad, though.
It took me 40-50 minutes to leave the school by shuttle every afternoon because they attempted to save gas by doing circles around the new gym. Even though no one ever got on the bus from there. The new route was the most idiotic idea ever.
This is 80% true. Undergraduate studies are more about the environment and activities and ‘experience’ than the academics. Now there is some variation between undergraduate institutions. If you have dreams of graduate school it matters slightly more but if you’re undergraduate is amazing, then that doesn’t matter. The key to successful undergraduate is to work hard, get good grades and be committed… oh and have lots of fun, make friends that you’ll have for life, and connections that will help you outside of school.
(I had the clean nerdy kind of fun, most people had the dirty sexy party kind of fun…Now students confuse me for one of them because I’m only 25 and got my Ph.D. last year… true story, I came into class and put my stuff on a desk and sat down for this intro Micro course I was teaching. I had this old nostalgic feeling since i haven’t left college since I was 18 (undergrad, Ph.D., professor) and I was just sitting there and this girl came in and started talking to me. Well she had started to get a little mouthy about how much she was going to hate this class, blah blah blah, I just listened and then when it was time to start class I went up there, wrote my name, handed out the syllabus… yeah you can see where this went… that face was priceless… but I digress…)
Oh and whoever was considering Miami (FL)… no… Miami(OH) is a much better ‘school’. The only thing you’re getting at Miami(FL) is more sunshine and South Beach… (I know that really doesn’t make my point for me does it…)
Johns Hopkins Undergrad, Duke law school.
In case anyone is think about law school it was a great option when I made the choice in 08, now under no circumstances should anyway go, everyone in it now is totally fucked, this includes me and people at all other top schools, no one is getting jobs, and firms can afford to fuck over people until they need students again. The only reason to go even back then is if you were willing to work 80 hour weeks for 160k starting salary with no skills whatsoever, which was only barely a good idea because people never got laid off (although still a def tradeoff lifestyle wise), and that salary went up fast until they let you know 5 years in if you are partner track. Now the security is gone, 1 and 2nd year associates are getting fired which never in history ever really happened, and bonuses are gone. Everyone I know in Big Law wants to get out more than anything just to end the uncertainty, but its the only real way to pay off debt (end rant)
Johns Hopkins gets alot of shit for being nerdy and a sciency school, but it has a lot of great programs in other shit too, and I and most people I know miss it in profound yet unexplainable ways, people really bond there, also, I kinda liked baltimore despite not much of a fighting game scene. Durham on the other hand is a festering shit hole, Duke strikes me as an awesome place to go to Undergrad though community/ammenities wise.
As for the value of UG, finance/banking recruited almost exclusively based on school prestige so going to a top 20 or so private was a good idea because those jobs were mad cushy, but yeah, those jobs are basically gone now. So yeah unless your going Hcore science/engineering in which case a top research university is a great idea, I’d say go were you like the feel most.
