Most countries drive on the right-hand side, thus requiring left-hand drive vehicles. Almost the entire American continent (North and South) drive on the right, as does most of Africa and Asia.
Driving on the left (and thus, right-hand drive vehicles) is mostly an Oceanic trend now, plus places like India and Japan.
I’ve been driving my hail and road kill battle damaged 2001 Camry since 03. 184k and is still a pretty solid car. My gf’s brother, who is the master mechanic at the Lexus dealership is trying to get me to upgrade to at least an L-series car, saying that it’s time to step up and buy a car that reflects my success. He says he can even get me a significant discount.
Thing is, I kind of like the anonymity of driving a “grocery grabber mom-car” and letting all the wanna-bes who are neck deep in debt think they are better off than me. Besides… I would feel like I would have a huge target on my back if I was rolling around in an LS whatever number.
If I were to buy another car it would probably be an 06 Outback… the new ones are ugly.
Does anyone watch Top Gear UK, they did a special in Burma, funny thing about Burma is that they have cars with the steering wheel on the right but one day their dear leader received a message from god telling him they should drive on the right side of the road, so he changed the laws so that you had to drive on the right but he didn’t enforce any laws regarding which side the steering wheel had to be. Jumping onto a bus is an exciting event
Oh, in case I was ambiguous here: that was re-badged as a Saturn in the US. It was a “captive import.” The Pontiac G8 (a fierce car that was an improvement over the so-called “GTO” was originally an Australian car.
I was irritated at first, but got used to it and helps a little bit on rev matches around turns. Depending on how much you like the car over all, an ECU reflash is supposed to get rid of it as well as take out the mph limiter amongst other things. Not cheap though, I think a local place to do it, charges $500-700 IIRC and it voids warranty. Another issue that I have that more and more people are discovering are the springs in the clutch making a sound similar to brakes needing to be replaced or a transit bus stopping. Besides that, the car isn’t too bad for a point A to B with some zip. Though might be looking into trading/selling it for a truck to haul bikes and bitches.
thats the bullshit electronic throttle. you get 30% of total power, and then after that lag. you get 80% power. you can re-flash them so you get it instantly and more powaaaa!
a plain 2006 honda accord charcoal blue. it handles really well for a fwd car so I can always have fun in it, compared to the other boats othermanufacturers sell you. its not without its faults but they van all be fixed.
