I dislike dealing with the general public, especially people with questions or complaints. Barbers, waitresses and cashiers who insist on making small talk. Co-workers who ask me about my hobbies and interests…
I do like dealing with people call and are like “oh, wrong number, sorry”
In general stereotypical terms:
Doctors:you study 10 years+ only to get a legal license to experiment on people. I wanted to be a guiniea pig, ill conduct my own experiments on myself. I can read a book and understand most of general medicine and how systems interact better than most specialists.
Lawyers:you want me to pay you how much an hour plus expenses and your secretary?! Please…
Nurses:you dont want to help people or make them feel better, you just want that paycheck.
Marines:you can follow orders but you cant think for yourself
Waitresses:I dont give a shit about your chip on your shoulder, do your job and do it well and you’ll get a tip. its not hard, don’t fuck it up.
Um, no they don’t. Have you ever worked at a hell hole like that? 90% of upper management from those places are NOT promoted/hired within the company. They’re “stolen” away from another company usually (usually one that is failing pretty hard), and most managers have never worked an entry-level job in their life.
So yeah, a lot of those of schmucks making shitty wages do still stay on the fast track to nowhere, so they have absolutely no incentive to provide great service other than:
a) threat of firing
b) commission
c) arbitrary “bonuses”
After working at far too many of those places, I can honestly say most of them aren’t dishonest people or lazy, but are overworked, underpaid, and have to deal with pissed off people all day long by repeating the same scripts over and over. And many of them have no choice in the matter.
It is the epitome of modern hell for anyone with an independent thought in their brain.
Instead of hate, they deserve pity and sympathy. It’s not like they’re trying to make $100/hr like other half-assed scam artists (most shitty private practice doctors and mechanics)
Professional wrestlers. I mean, I can never tell when shit’s real or not
I have worked at a fast food “restaurant”, a Wal-Mart deli, and most recently as a Verizon representative. Eight or more hours a day of handling calls from the most retarded people. Only the most retarded ones. Only. Retarded. Obviously I quit.
Damn, I need a job. :[
But seriously, the reason I had to quit is more complicated than that. I have an extremely horrible problem with concentrating on things. That job really brought that out and amplified it.
Also I hate telemarketers. Not as people, but as a profession. How many damn times do I have to ask you to put me on your do-not-call list? I don’t want your stupid crap! D:
