Also, not going to say that I hate anime, but I DO HATE when a character is just another generic anime guy / girl without even trying to break out of the box. Seriously, anime characters are getting old.

kind of. Her personality is irritating. Shes kind of whiny, and apologetic, but given her circumstances I understand why plus she does get points for her glorious little behind.

Would that extend to charge characters? When I first picked up Honda remembering to buffer a back input so I could headbutt was annoying but in the end it developed good blocking habits.
I like Noel as a bipolar in competence doormat and I’m not counting myself in that collective, but there’s a few dozen of characters people hate with the same level of excuses.
Noel is a really mixed bag with me.
On paper, she is every single thing that I hate about anime.
But, for some reason, I can’t bring myself to dislike her.
Carl can go eat a bag of baby dicks, though. (Besides GOING IN STRONG)
Hakumen is also pretty annoying.
I like Yoshimitsu.
Hes a samurai that calls himself a ninja even though he doesnt know ninjutsu (unlike his friend Blade…I mean Raven) and hes Robin Hood and he also has the whole dark hadou thing goin on and hes got a sword and he looks awesome and he spends his free time on the internet.
Not many character archtypes like that.
yeah Im being wishy washy. but I can’t seem to dislike her. Not really sure why. It might just be her adorableness. I WILL say I don’t like jins character… Hes just yaoi bait for fangirls.
For me, it’s just buttons. I actually prefer charge motions over… motion motions, I guess? But needing to hold buttons while doing stuff with other buttons always felt unintuitive.

I love Yoshimitsu because he’s a fun, interesting, and unique character who can be both dramatic and silly, depending on the situation. His moves are very memorable, especially the pogo stick sword position, the helicopter spin, the meditation, and of course, the suicide move. He’s a joke character done well, in that he’s a joke while still being a threat both in gameplay and in personality.
In fact, if I were to list my favorite fighting game characters of all time (Based off of design, fighting style, personality, etc. instead of which ones I like to play as), Yoshimitsu would be in my top 5.
I really hate big, dumb characters. Not like Hugo, he’s cool, and his stupidity adds to his character. But characters that are dumb in a goofy way, like Zangief has kinda been portrayed as recently. Probably not the best example but whatever.
Also overly cocky characters, but the characters that are supposed to be cocky in a “cool” way, not the kind of characters that are cocky inn a dickish way like Hawkeye or Taskmaster.
Also supposedly extremely powerful characters that cry like little girls. Think Vergil.
Also not really an archtype perse, but characters with over the top clothing annoy me. Like Duo Lon is a perfect example. What the fuck is he wearing, he looks ridiculous.
For playstyles, I hate charge characters, especially because all of the characters I like just as characters always end up being charge characters. Happened with Bison, Q, Vega, Urien, Charlie, and Venom and Axl in Guilty Gear to a lesser extent.
Same here, hes tied as my favorite joke character and I’d put him in my top 5 as well.
Slap U Silly is an awesome move too.
But yeah, shame hes really hard to play as in Tekken.
