I used to think Jin was cool, until I too-------No, screw that. I don’t even play Skyrim.
I say Tekken 2 and 3 had the best representation of a Tekken roster.
It’s weird, when people think of Tekken nowadays, they think of characters like Asuka, Lili, Lars, and Bryan. I still remember the days when Bryan fought like Bruce, Michelle was still alive, and Paul wasn’t a comic relief.
Wasn’t counting that one because it’s not really canon. Capcom was making the SF side look like weaklings compared to the Tekken side in every other trailer anyway, so they had to make their guys look good sooner or later.
Also, “literally”? That wouldn’t be the correct adjective in this sense.
Characters like Zangief that have only one means of attack and get completely shut down by keepaway are terrible.
Every character should have some options to deal with different situations, types like Zangief basically give validity to the practice of counter-picking.
I don’t like the the skin and bone girls who can somehow stand up against the brutes like Yuri, Athena, and Kula, though with Kula she does have powers, but I don’t like her visually is that she comes across alongside with Athena and Yuri as the uber anime chicks.
For play style archetypes I used to didn’t like grapplers, but Hakan changed my opinion on that. Charge characters aren’t an archetype, but I hate the implementation of them. I don’t see what’s so fun about holding back. It also seems to make certain combos that utilize them weird to execute.
What? How often does this happen? This is actually one of my fav char designs (man you are gonna hate my Soulcalibur creations lol) but I don’t thinik I’ve ever seen default chars designed like that in any game. Enlighten me!
I dont hate character archetypes, i hate when they are done poorly.
Take Jin Kisaragi from Blazblue for instance. This motherfucker goes around being Major Dickface to everyone. Not only that, but he tries to kill the girl who loved him just because she wanted to stop him from doing all this crazy shit like trying to fuck his brother every 5 minutes. To make matters worse, this asshat is hailed as a hero while real heroes like Bang Shishigami can’t get a break after 2 games. I also hate how no fighting game developer was able to make a child character not be a total tool.
Wait what? Did you just skim his stories or something? The whole point is that he’s a loony dick of an anti-hero.
[S]Never mind, him permanently being like that is how Hakumen was born, and you said the opposite. Tsubaki is the one trying to BE THE LAAAAWWWWW and Jin (and Hakumen, with a touching scene at that) is most sane around her.[/S] Unless you think Noel loves him, then ew.
Like literally skips school? Because Jin and Batsu barely be any more unlike each other otherwise.
I kind of hate anti-heros like Iori and Cody. Maybe it’s a personal thing, but I kind of hate self serving characters like those, who generally don’t give a shit about anything, but only fight evil because they have a personal stake in it. I know these characters are suppose to be “cool”, but I just find them to be obnoxious.
Despite being a big Xiayou fan, I generally hate school girls. Mainly because they never ever grow up due to the fan service from the game’s directory. At least Xiayou was allowed to grow up, despite looking mostly the same, she did lose her school uniform showing the sign she is no longer in school. Athena also is a character who “grew up” and is no longer a “school girl” despite rocking the outfit and looking exactly the same. I find it annoying because characters like Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law actually have visually grown older (as well as characters like Kyo), but school girls tend to never age.
He did. But then he was a drop out for real.
Even in my dang visual novels, the protagonist eventually remembers to get back in class.
Though while I’m here, I don’t get the whole “anime characters look white” thing.
Curved chins, sharp angled prominent eyes, very fair and pale skin, thin frames.
Totally European and American traits.
