Bison, Honda, Rose, Chun and Gief. Also I will add Yang to this list only because I play a great Yang/Yun player every now and then and find it such an uphill battle. Funnily enough I never (even in AE) found Yun to be much of a problem, cheap but beatable if I played it safe.
I dont think the Ryu/Sakura matchups are unfair or hard but they are beyond annoying due to having to limit/change your combos so that you avoid whiffing Guys Target Combo. Yet they can apply their universal safe pressure. The bastards
I found the Honda, Guile and Balrog fights hard in Super/AE but find them far worse for some reason in 2012. Honda especially with his new funky headbutts and my inability to tell which ones are punishable. I once hated the Blanka matchup now I actually enjoy it and the amount of cr.mp goodness it allows. Guy vs Guy is boring and a war for the first knockdown. I need to improve on a good few matchups, Rufus and Abel come to mind but Bison (Dictator) is by far my worst matchup with Guy it always has been. The scissor kicking hk spamming ex pscho runnaway annoying shit that he is.
Iām waffling now but I think every charge character seems a harder battle in 2012. Iāve also been having some serious brain farts with Guy lately and have dropped the ball completely, so Im a takinā a break. Currently trolling like crazy with T.Hawk and loving it. I can feel the power of the earth damn it.
i have been training a lot lately but a different kind of training⦠ill go to the lab and select certain characters that i have trouble with⦠(cammy, rose, honda, ryu, etc.) and set the super and ultra gauges to normal and set the comp. setting to the hardest level and just go at it with the computer in training mode⦠sometimes even for hours. what have i learned u ask? how to punish the fuck out certain characters and moves⦠and how to OS my way out of certain wake up situations like dudes who like to wake up with hondas lk butt slam. ive noticed that my reaction time has gotten better and seeing things more clearly and noticing which move is which and just training myself just to punish things and punish them correctly⦠i suggest all of us to do this. its really really good training⦠not just practicing ur combos on a dummy but on a moving dummy who will punish ur ass if u miss that cr. lk. to st. mp link with a nice fat ultra⦠and when that happens to me i just focus more⦠i dont get salty or mad cause im training. then when im in matches im thinking ahead and keeping in mind what r my punishes to each move. TRUST ME! JUST GO AND TRY IT FOR A LIL WHILEā¦
yo u think online ryuās spam fireballs, fight that fucker in training mode⦠uāll quit⦠lol⦠and yeah uāll never jump in again. that fucker aa everything. but yeah boxer def is a must⦠thanks for reminding meā¦
Thatās one thing Iāve always found amazing about Alex Valleās āpsychic DPsā. He has both ridiculous reactions and the ability to just KNOW when youāre gonna jump or poke or whatever. Jumping in on Ryu is suicide!
oh i have fought ryu in training hence why is aid don t jump⦠its like he knows when to AA you cause evertyime i go for elbow distance to beat srk ⦠he;s like i see what you did there⦠delay srk. Boxer is just annoying but youāll manage to learn some stuff.
Slightly off topic but what does everyone else use against Boxers dash punches? I use cr.mk with a success rate I that Iām pretty happy with. If I see him light up yellow Iām usually on point with timing it and getting the knock down but Iād like to hear how others deal with his dashes. Against his turn punch cr.mk seems to be 50/50 and usually Ill only catch him clean if I actually mistimed it and did it too early.
Without meter, St hp, st hk, i think cr hp has some success idk, when he has meter, cr mk all day. Slide tends to win out against TAP, since cr mk matter on timing. That or Run slide on reaction.
I think the match up is even worse in 2012 than it was in AE. The hitbox buff they gave to Zangiefās crouch jab is really the final straw⦠I really donāt think thereās much that Guy can do against lots of random cr.LP > (buffer) Ex Green Hand.
Hey guys. Iām learning guy right now and he has sick mix up off of cr.mp.
I like his high and low mix up.
But defensively Iām having a hard time dealing with Seth.
With meter Seth has spd, focus or dpā¦
Iām trying to figure out the rules to fight this guyā¦
You will always have a hard time dealing with Seth. A good Seth will keep his offense varied, so you will basically have to guess. Luck plays a big part against unpredictable Seths. Sometimes you should backdash, sometimes you should jump, sometimes you should EX reversal, but for each of those if Seth goes for an option other than the one you were expecting, youāre gonna get stuffed or punished. You have to look for patterns in your opponents offence. Some players like to go for SPDs more than others, Iāve noticed. It can take a few games to read in to your opponents play style though. So while you may lose in a best of 3, you may win a FT10. Itās still not a great matchup though, because Guy canāt FADC his EX bushin kicks to safety. Any wrong guesses will be heavily punished.
True, best advice would prob be if you can get a knockdown. Donāt let up (unless they are mashing dp then bait that shit!) Seth can really keep guy out and there arenāt many safe ways in if you donāt get good reads or bait something out.
OMG I troll with T Hawk too!!! Iāve perfected a couple of really decent ryus After Beating them w Guy⦠People are really not familiar with the T Hawk match up⦠so much damage⦠Itās so scary and funny.
āsitting thereā Balrogs and moving Balrogs⦠Iām getting used to the M Bison matchup but itās so awkward⦠I donāt have so much Cammy experience but Iām already hating herā¦
Iām starting to hate so many charactersā¦
Chun is tough⦠a mixin it all Seth is a nightmare⦠I havenāt played a good Dudley in a while but itās up hill too⦠I need so much experience since I can only play on weekends⦠work is kicking my buttā¦
I donāt really have problems to beat Sagats, Iāve played some of them with high PP and I feel they are more unconfortable than I am⦠a good Ryu can give me a raging time⦠Iām just starting to get the experience⦠and trying to play high PP people even if I lose sooooo many times to them⦠I think thatās a way of learning tooā¦
I hope not to be fillig this thread with noobs stuff nobody needs to readā¦
After work am at 30-50% of my reaction speed so am free against Dee jays adons and cammys I play 50/50s tech grabs n OS to tone down the character advantages over guy. if I find any of the player weaknesses expose them when your in need of it doing so early will give them time to adjust you want them to have feeling of confidence most of the time example: dp-fadc-dp you block there open to ultra 2 after the 1st n 2nd dp. Balrogs pros or mashers after a knockdown do close C.mk/grab mix up with will make ultra the only option to them after meter/ultra in rogās use take care n walk back after knockdowns then use mp into ex spin kicks on reaction to his ex punch. Ryu has max range C.mk stay on the ground and use max range mp to react to a whiff mk. Chun has better normals then guy but use pokes n mp the whiff C.hk when she has no meter rush her down. Use training mode 4 a 5-20mins use a day on links and options to better your game if your play time is limited you will get better in time trust me.
