A question to the tourney organizers, Will the mvc2 team tourney be sbo style? so we have to make 9 different characters total? I think that would make it very interesting and cut down on the msp. Then again we could make a side tourney too.

These rules are PROPOSED and SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Final decisions will be made based on your responses here and in person on Saturday.
In team tournaments, each player will register his character (team for CvS2/XSF/MvC2) and stick with them for the whole tournament. This includes ratio/groove/assist choices. Players in the same team may not use the same character (team for CvS2/XSF/MvC2) as one of their partners. Changing assists/ratios/grooves between players is not enough. Examples of okay and not-okay teams:
HDR okay team:
Player A uses Dee Jay
Player B uses Akuma
Player C uses Zangief
HDR illegal team:
Player A uses Ken
Player B uses Ken
Player C uses Ryu
MvC2 legal team:
Player A uses Magneto/Storm/Psylocke
Player B uses Magneto/Storm/Sentinel
Player C uses Cammy/Storm/Psylocke
MvC2 illegal team:
Player A uses Magneto/Storm/Psylocke
Player B uses Storm/Psylocke/Magneto (all different assists than Player A)
Player C uses Omega Red/Sakura/Roll
CvS2 legal team:

I think personally it would be more interesting if we had all 9 different characters in mvc2, It would make the finals alot more appealing to watch. Choosing a slightly different team is a good compromise however. Cvs2 might be the same as well, with 9 different characters used we might get to see less a-groove. It really depends on if this will discourage everyone else.
Once again it would be nice to see some mixup with ironmans,stri/doom,spiral,blackheart, T-Bone assists.

The teams I listed were definitely a pipedream tourney, But choosing 9 different would atleast increase the chances.

As you said, forcing 9 different chars might discourage some people from entering. But if there’s enough interest and a consensus among the entrants on Saturday, we can do that.
