The rules have been made so that floating only occurs if necessary.
I won’t float you unless you meet the requirements of the GT rule.
Otherwise, the only other times a float is initiated is for the seeds. I’m sure nobody will argue with me if I decide to float a Gootecks vs Valle or Marn vs Metroid match. Not just anybody is considered a seed. If there are no other possible matches that can be floated, then too bad.
As far as players that will never make it past pools anyway, I will be more than glad to accomodate should they decide to abuse the GT rule and lie about driving down with somebody. However, I don’t see why this should be an issue as I am already making the brackets by region.
I guess Kai already answered, but I just want to help calm any issues. I think we need to take a sec and realize that 1. we’re talking about early early rounds. This is looking out for everyone to have a good time. 2. As much as I don’t want to watch Ed vs Marn 1st round, I really don’t want to see friends from Utah make the drive out and play each other in the first or second round.
I can appreciate your concern Jimmy, but if Kai fucks up at the tournament, let’s razz on him after the fact. I know Kai is a douche and a tool at times, but I think he’s ultimately trustworthy and is not going to run a shitty tournament, especially when he’s doing it for me. Or he might. If it happens, I’ll shit on his chest after eating spicy foods.
Are you genuinely concerned or just trying to make a point? Usually, I won’t be super combative in a public post, but this “maybe I’m being a feminist bitch but whatever,” disregard and attitude irks me. If you are just the Oxygen or Lifetime channel, and hate all men who love women, then please stay at home. I don’t need any of that kind of negativity around a place meant for positive energies and good times.
If you are genuinely concerned that the quality of the tournament will be lacking because of the emphasis on girls in the last few posts, be assured that seasoned organizers are at the helm of each event (Shoo, THE ANSWER, SweetJohnnyV, and Hellfromabove to name a few).
The latest promo video has the rooms in the footage. They can hold four people comfortably I would say. Kai mentions 3 because he himself can’t take more than 3 people in any room, including a large Vegas suite.
