Let’s not have negativity in this thread. Though I appreciate the confidence OceansideDOODS, we don’t need to put down anyone else in the process.
That said, EVO is still the premiere event in the western hemisphere and I have to say, going through what I have in the past few months trying to put together this event, I have a billion times more respect for those who organize tournaments, especially the grand daddy of them all, EVO. The attention to detail required is mind splittingly (made up word) tough, and to do it on the scale of EVO is something I just don’t comprehend right now.
Bottom line, let’s not call out any other groups. All I ask, is that you come out, have a good time, and see/participate in some quality fighting game action.

Mad props for organizing a tourney in the OC.
There hasn’t been a major in the OC since the SHGL days which had alphas,cvs2,mvc2 tourneys in the 80-100s in attendance.
Can’t wait for this event =)

I will have to talk to the hotel regarding a DJ for the pool party since effectively, they’ve just given me the okay to throw a party at the pool, but it’s not reserved off for only our group. If other hotel guests want to go swimming, they can; as mentioned earlier though, I don’t know if they will be able to handle the hype 
Ultimately, I was just going to get an ipod and some speakers out there near the bar we setup.

Spectating is free; 2 drink minimum though to skip out on the loser tax =D

Honestly though, don’t be discouraged in entering. Very few people enter the tournament thinking they are going to win it (well, maybe not in SoCal, rofl). If you’re a fighting gamer, something inside you wants to see how you stack up against the best. Right?
I haven’t practiced in forever because of work, and I did terribly at EVO, but nothing would have stopped me from entering, because ultimately, money comes and goes, but memories and experiences are forever. If your only worry is that you won’t win, then you absolutely need to enter.

I know I’m just another random dumbass 09’ er, but this event sounds really awesome. I throw my hat in if you need like an extra PA or dj system, and I will definitely enter even though I know I will probably get peaced out, unless I play a baby or an inanimate object.
It’s nice to see HDR getting some love…here’s to hoping that they (powers that be) miraculously switch to a Singles event. I should be able to make it…anyone need a partner?

Sign up pages have been updated with new additions (Marvel vs Capcom 2, HDR 2s, KoF12). Basically, after you purchase registration, you’ll need to click Continue Shopping at Paypal’s site to then choose your games. It’s an extra click per game, and I’m not joking when I say I’m sorry that I couldn’t make it easier for you.
