West Coast Warzone 2 - April 2nd-4th - Anyone going?

So I’ve been thinking about it, and I think I might try to make it down for this one. Anyone else thinking of going down? Ideally I think I would want to get a full car going and carpool to cut down on expenses, but who knows - could probably get a cheap flight or something.

Looks like it’s a 15-16 hour drive if we went that route, it’d probably be worth it to get a flight. But if people want to drive and it’s cost effective I’d probably be down for it.

Not 100% sure that I will be going, but I think I’d like to and it would be a good taste of a large tournament before Evo.

Games List:
All games at Warzone will have a 70/20/10 split for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Street Fighter IV will receive an extra $1000US to be split 70/20/10 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Street Fighter IV & HD-Remix will be played on Xbox360 consoles.
BlazBlue and Tekken 6 will be played on PS3 consoles.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 will be played on Dreamcast consoles.
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike will be played on PS2 consoles.

I think blacksteev was trying to go down for tekken, but other than that I don’t know anyone else who was considering it. I can’t go because of school and work, on top of not being able to afford to travel until the summer.

Well, that’s something. Really I’m thinking this would be a good taste of a rather large tournament to someone like myself who is relatively new before Evo. And I don’t think it would be too costly either really, looking at the room rates and such.

I hope some of you guys make it. The last WCW was really cool(And huge turn out)!

Little surprised there isn’t a little bit more interest in this one. :\

Maybe for Remix.

Heck, it’s even got a Dreamcast Marvel tournament, who knows how many of those there will be.

Just speaking as someone with experience with the SoCal - Seattle drive, it’s LONG and you’d probably regret it trying to drive just for a weekend. I usually did the trip in two solid days of driving, but yeah you could switch off drivers and make it in a long day (as in, leave very early morning get there very late at night). Round trip, Seattle to Long Beach is over 2300 miles. Even if you average 70mph it’s nearly 33 hours of driving round-trip for one weekend tourney. And that’s a pretty aggressive estimate, not counting stops for food, bathroom, traffic (you’ll be driving through Portland and all the way through LA, which tend to slow down). Somebody has to put 2300+ miles on their car too, and gas will run you a bit over $200.

While you could try to drive like a crazy person, switch off people, split gas costs multiple ways, and get there as fast as you can… it’s got huge potential to suck. Just fly, you can pretty easily get round trip from Seattle to LA for about $200 on Virgin, Southwest, or Alaska if you’re on top of it more than 3-4 weeks in advance.

Tourney looks cool though!

Yeah, honestly driving is not my first choice, and if I did go down it would be by flight the more I look at it. Just thinking if cost was an issue for some people, I’d be willing to help out in a carpool for the trip. But it would only be cost effective with like 4-5 people.

yo Seattle peeps!! i was up there in Seattle a couple of months ago and i took the train just for the hell of it and it was great… but regardless of which transportation you choose you guys really need to try to make it for this one it’s our last big tourney before Super street fighter comes out so there will be lots of people!!! will be great to see some the people i met when i was up there…

i will be there for some tekken, and i think my TW team mate is going to roll through with me as well. we are flying, and i have already bought my plane ticket

Who’s all still going to this? Mackinzie? There is 3S! Lol. But I’m really contemplating going (flying if the other player here isn’t going). Lookin for a room to stay. Anyone need someone to split room cost?

i think fatbear’s going talk to him mike, unfortunatly i’m gonna wait till sbo quals are announced before i travel again ;3

hey seattle peeps!!! if anyone needs any help in regards hotel near the venue or anything i could do to make your trip more time efficient don’t hesitate to ask I’m down here on LA hope you guys can come down for this…maybe you guys can put together an Afrodojo rep team…
