Wesker bulls**t

I have put in the effort… Ive never had any other team than wolvie, dpool and skrull… they jsut work so well for me… obviously not in this case… maybe thats my problem, need to switch a character out. and my point is that wesker being far too easy to use combined with sent force upwards, is just too scrubby. Please just try against some one mediocre at the game and tell them to use this tactic, then let me know how you get on and what tactics you use to get around it! i just need some help around it, preferably without changing my team if possible… a lot of people are giving me advice because they are not sat on training mode as we speak… but if they just actually try facing against this spamming and assist… it really isnt as easy as its being said to avoid or counter :confused:

you should really stop complaining about Wesker being easy when you play Wolverine. it’s unbecoming.

and yes, this is literally as easy to counter as we are telling you. if it wasn’t so easy to blow up you’d see it everywhere on streams.

it is that simple once you armed with the know how (which we have given you) Man up and face your opponent, do you want to win or do you want to casually jump around onscreen with friends? GET DIRTY!!!

Have you tried facing him?

here’s a team for you to try -

Iron Man / Haggar / Akuma

Go and destroy now!

A=L or light attack
B=M or medium attack
C=H or heavy attack

Forward+C or back+C= throw

Samurai Edge input=f+C or df+C (can also be done in the air)

If you get beaten by scrub tactics, YOU are the bigger scrub.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

Thats weird…theres a thread in the Skrull sub section complaining about a Wolv/Deadpool/Skrull team. He said the team is pretty cheap and when it gets to Skrull, the guy just mashes meteor smash. So then someone suggested to out scrub the scrub by picking a Wesker/Sent team

the plot thickens!

This thread is incredible.

Go to training and don’t come back until you can loop with all of your characters.

…Nigga iz you serious mayne?

I think he means B as in the B button on a 360 controller, which does indeed register a heavy attack. Highly confusing notation, considering B is commonly thought of as a medium attack (ABCD or ABCS string), but I get it.

As for the actual question… To start off the post with something like “I’m damn good” and then ask how to beat gun mashing plus drones is kinda awkward, but I suppose I should give a legit response.

  1. Up-back
  2. Superjump > divekick
  3. Air throw Wesker
  4. Raw hyper Sentinel
  5. Dash > cr.L Wesker when he uses grounded gun
  6. Switch in Skrull and mash Stone Dunk or whatever Air down+H is
  7. Switch in Skrull and mash teleport
  8. Switch in Skrull and random Inferno
  9. Replace Skrull altogether with a better assist
  10. If you don’t like careful thinking, as your post implies, mash dive kicks out like your life depends on it. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure dive kick OS’s throws, so it’s fair game, right?

I mean there’s just so many ways to deal with that. The fact that this 9th Lord Nova got crushed means diddly-squat when it comes to the rest of the community of online gamers. I’m sure he is the best you’ve ever seen; that’s fine. But unless he doesn’t play ranked much, he’s really not good enough at the game yet to defend that kind of thing. This post was coming from a 4th Lord, but there are even High Lords in here telling you pretty much the same thing, so I would suggest giving it a try.

Erm… Good luck out there.

no the 9th lord nova wasnt the best id seen, he was just a lot more experienced than my brother who has never played a ranked match and never used wesker or sentinel… ever… I appreciate all the tips thankyou :slight_smile: I also do like careful thinking, if you knew exactly what i was talking about you would understand there isnt much tie to think. I think its either a character change, or a throw into otg then snap back i need… the point im making is that, i have to ask for advice on this thread… i need to at first land a grab which comes down to luck when those drones are coming at me, if i can get a grab then i have to shoryuken input to OTG with d pool then snap back… not the most skillful thing ever but some skill and finger work nonetheless… a lot more than simply mashing heavy button and holding forward. that was all. yes there are ways around it… and most of you obviously dont have a problem with it, but people telling me to simply dive kick… it just isnt that simple… i understand the random inferno’s and meteor smash infernos… but i cant actually get anywhere near him to build up meter, so yeah i get him once, but then im stuck after that. i reckon it could be skrull character change, and think i need a beam assist. thanks for the tips though man

Liar

Pretty early contender for dumbest post of the year. :clapdos:

With a name that shortens to D-bag making this post, I can only assume its troll-central, but whatever.

This is a fighting game. It doesn’t matter what characters the other player runs outside of match up knowledge, but knowing your own character’s abilities is always the most important thing. I don’t just mean combos, I mean the important things like properties, spacing, mixups, mindgames, shit like that. So when you say “How do I deal with XYZ”, its on a per-team basis. In your example, if you decided to chicken block but your friend uses drones as cover to come in and command grab you as you crouchblock on the ground, then it’d be harder to deal with, but due to his limited knowledge of his own character, he’s revealing his own weaknesses.

Once you’re hit with drones, you’re already in block stun and it’s not worth doing anything but block, and sometimes thats all you can do, block any sort of attempt to expose you. But if you see a point where he’ll cross you up before the drones get there, jump and air grab, combo for probably 50%. If he calls Sentinel too early, go for a raw hyper. If he goes for Sentinel too late,** finish him**. Make him realize how unsafe Sentinel is when he’s releasing the drones, then he’ll have to start thinking.

Lol, imagine this guy dealing with a good She-Hulk. I can just imagine the tears.

You’re actually pretty bad at this game, damn bad. You need to hit the fuckin lab and stop suckin yourself because your version of wesker bs is tomfoolery.

it sounds to me that the only scrub here is you
he is playing to win, meanwhile you are complaining to his tactics instead of trying to learn how to deal with it
and no, you are not that good if you are falling to crap like that

http://images.t-nation.com/forum_images/3/b/3b2d1_ORIG-Dwight_Schrute_False_cropped.jpg

best way to learn how to deal with stuff is to set the situation up in training mode.

first, pick Wesker / Sent / X as your opponent’s team. then set 2 of your buttons to P2 Record and Playback Repeat.

then hit record and call drones + wesker’s gunshot into teleport into whatever. remember to wait until the assist has completed before you stop the recording (so that the playback will do the same thing each time).

now you have your friend’s strategy on repeat for you to experiment with. you’ll be surprised how many things you might find (besides the obvious throw punish).

i also wanted to talk about drones for a second… a good rule of thumb, when your opponent has drones assist, is to never let yourself get pinned down by the drones. the instant you see them coming, either get yourself in the air or try to hit sentinel somehow. if you just stay on the ground you’re pretty much asking to get mixed up.

edit: also, don’t change your team order just because of this guy’s Wesker. Wolverine on point and Skrull on anchor sounds good. the problem is, you don’t really have any assists that cover the screen horizontally (far enough to hit sentinel).

So my advice is: if this friend of yours started picking Wesker just to beat you, why not pick a beam (or horizontal projectile) assist just to beat him? Keep your wolvie and skrull, but put Iron Man, Doom, Magneto, Chris, Task, Hawkeye or Strange in the middle? (well… maybe not Strange)

Poor kettle, someone chopped off its hands and switched the left one with the right one.

thanks mate, for the most informative post ive had on this subject… maybe my op was a bit salty to begin with :stuck_out_tongue: Yeah im thinking deadpool is definitely my weakness here, wolvie goes in niceley and skrull finishes up… d pool is good for keep away and those teleports for suprising but against this tactic he seems to be pretty much uselss, a quick executing beam like mag’s disruptor should do the trick.

another thing, I have played this game for a long time, and i do spend a lot of time in training mode… but I must admit I’m not sure how you mean “record” and “playback”… i wasnt aware you could do that??

thanks again man
