Mexicans should know better. They are more than well aware that it’s illegal to cross the border like that and after already running a high risk of getting caught, they decided it was a bright idea to throw rocks (attack).
I am a bit conflicted about the whole illegal immigration debate because had a friend of mine not been here illegally, he would have died as a child (literally). He was brought to the US with a visa for medical reasons and stayed after it expired (for further health reasons). He was raised by friends of his parents, eventually got a greencard the proper way and just recently became a citizen.
Having said that, I believe the border should be strongly protected simply because of the recently gang violence happening in Mexico, which has been spreading throughout our southern states it seems.

This is false; mexican border patrol is not that grimey. They will not shot you on the spot but they will be expecting a bribe. If you can’t pay the bribe then you’re chances of being deported increased that much. Certain spots are more dangerous than other just like in the U.S.

A good chunk of deportees are sent back to Guatemala by bus, regardless of whether or not they live there.

None of drug violence spills over to the U.S. unless its something incredibly specific and even then it is amazingly rare. I’ve been in El Paso (you know, that city directly across from Ciudad Juarez) for 9 years now. Only twice have there been murder related to the drug cartel in Juarez and that happened after the current nonsense. The problem with organized crime organizations like La M in cali or MS13 (a problem that the U.S. created by deporting gang members back to their country) has little to do with illegal immigration as most of the drugs are brought in through legal means.
The kid was being retarded, border patrol cycles around are downtown often and they do so peacefully, downtown is very safe at all hours of night (because I have been in that downtown at all periods of the day).

Not true. Border patrol has saved a huge amount of lives and the large majority of the Juarez population are pretty respectful of American laws. Shitty drivers but not worse than New Mexico or Florida.

Actually even a small pebble thrown at a slow speed can hit someone in the eye and cause serious damage. I went to this Russian community once where the kids were left there over the summer with their grand parents, meaning no one was watching the kids. The little kids would run around the place and throw rocks at each other for fun and a couple ended up in the hospital. If the kid would have stopped throwing rocks at the border patrol then I’m sure he wouldn’t have got shot.
Well, considering I live in El Paso, this happened about 6 blocks away from where I live, in an area where I used to teach citizenship classes, am studying anthropology in a department that has 3 professors who actively work with immigrant issues, I am significantly better equipped for that discussion than most of GD. People assume a bunch of random whack shit about what immigrants do and don’t do; his comment being one of them. The amount of stupid in this forum alone involving the immigration debate reflective of the general misconceptions that the populace at large has. I have no way of judging sarcasm when it comes to this topic, so if I hear a nebulous comment, I’m gonna straighten it out to clear and/or fix what was said.
