We are finally getting AE gouken june 7th!!! I cant wait to take him into training mode!!!

Also Evo has switched to AE now I wonder if any goukens will show up and Beast with his new changes. Anyway today has been an exciting day!!!

Took capcom long but now its official. I just hope they do some more balance changes to yun and yang. well yun lol.

Hey I was expecting that June 24 was the general release, 2 weeks early is good stuff :smiley: I can’t wait either man, I’ve been so busy preparing to play AE Gouken my O.Gouken has been suffering(god the amount of low kongos I’ve suffered as antiairs online :frowning: ), I’m also looking forward to giving Oni a try out, gonna be lots of fun :smiley:

and still that one desperate delusional part of me still hopes for a surprise announcement of more characters, come on Karin, it’s all I need for a perfect 10 score for SF4 enjoyment :smiley:

Im sure capcom will still be releasing balance patchs and DLC characters in the future of Street fighter 4

Hopefully you’re right about future dlc contents for ssf4ae despite Capcom announcing that there will be no more further updates on the sf4 series.

I’m also maining Gouken in AE. Let’s get hyped!

How is AE Gouken looking? I know they nerfed Ultra 1, changed the input for his parries, and made his LP Palm Strike basically a combo ender. I kinda’ liked Gouken in Vanilla because of his Space Control and he was a breath of fresh air compared to the Shoto fest. I couldn’t play him too well due to the input shortcuts, but now that they changed LP Palm Strike, it might be easier to do his BNB’s with him. I’ll probably pick it up for PC as I have a few friends that play it and PC online play tends to be better than Console bs. I’ll probably use Gouken and Hakan, seeing as Hakan has been improved and plays similarly to Alex only with better Troll skills.

They changed his lp palm but you still can’t Hit confirm into it unless your doing it from Standing mp on hit. You can do like standing mp clp lp palm that works.

Im the most excited about the new standing mp. +4 on block now and +7 on hit. So much we can do now.

Don’t forget the part where it’s +10 on counterhit, it’s like you see that message, you can go to the kitchen, make yourself a nice sammich come back and still press which ever button you want and it’ll link. It’s just a pity that both super and ultra are just that teeny bit too slow to link off it. Good gods the MP and the EX tatsu changes, I wants them precious O.o

dont forget we can link into cl. hk now. making cl.mp-> cl.hk-> c.lk xx tatsu possible.

Wait… What? As in… Close Mp > Close Hk (Both Hits) > Crouching Lk into Tatsu? That would all combo? O.o

It should be possible depending on spacing, did someone check this ones spacing already(is embarressed at how long he hasn’t looked at the AE thread)?

I think st. mp pushes you too far for st. hk. Try it on chocolate, after st. mp, far standing hk comes out.

It works, it maybe character specific but it definitely works. You have to time it as a 1 frame link to make it hit properly if that helps any.

What’s the new hit/block stun on st. cl. hk??? Prob +5… if it’s +6 then :rock:

Gouken has a bunch of new and improved abilities, yet somehow he’s still looked at as the same. I find that a little puzzling.

I think Sagat or Cody… And I didn’t test standing vs. crouching etither… but it def. works.

If I have time, I’ll dive in tonight and get a solid recording and test against a couple of small hit box, avg. hit box, and large hit box characters and let you know if there’s anything different.

It’s not an easy way to land it besides time it right since you can’t plink it or anything. In AE we’ll be able to p.link with st. cl mk ~st. cl. hk so it’ we can take advantage of the 3 frame start up of st. cl. mk.

Solid ass hit confirm or block string and cr. mp or cr. lk should be able to link after the st. hk and we can plink cr. mp and cr. lk too!!!

You can already land the cl.MP, cl.HK combo in Super, just due to hitboxes a lot can block or have the first hit whiff. The first hit seems to pretty much always whiff though. I’m really curious how the AE hotboxes work out :slight_smile:

The characters I’ve never gotten it to work on: Ryu, Ken, Honda, Akuma, Gouken, Dan, Juri, Chun Li, Bison, Guy, Hakan, Blanka, Zangief, Fuerte, Vega, Fei Long, Hawk, Adon and Rose. A lot of them do block the close.HK though, so it seems liek theirs a frame or so loss due to hitboxes, because it should be able to connect. Even DF Dive which gets you right on top of them doesn’t seem to help and it looks so close. As the first hit has only 2 active frames cl.MP on +7 should allow them to hit. Still some characters that the first hit whiffs on or are still to far away after divekick to get close.

Well guys its finnally here!!! At last AE gouken. Ive taken him in training mode and messed around with him a bit. Im liking him alot. Im loving this new palm. Seems to be able to stop focus dashers who dash in on your fireballs. Its pretty much safe on block. Being able to to tastu without the worry of kongo is SO AMAZING!!! Speaking of kongo… Ive been anti airing with Mp and Hp lolol??? I guess its due to hitbox placements overlaping both areas but whatever. I need some sleep then im going to wake up and Train some more. Im liking him alot though. I new age of gouken HAS BEGUN!!!
