Well, eating more adds more mass.
Wasn’t the formula like 20-30% protein and the rest carbs for your meals?
The supplements are meant to be just that, supplements, not replacements for eating healthy. Oh yeah exercise of course all the way.
I think there are some problems with the stuff.
I remember meeting this one guy who weighed in about the same as me… maybe 20 pounds less. He was then on stuff like weight loss supplements or muscle enhancing supplements. He worked out a lot, and then he stopped taking the supplements.
Apparently the supplements boosted his appetite a lot and he couldn’t exercise enough self-restraint on his eating habits, because in the 2 years I’ve known him he probably weighs twice as much as I do now…
And that’s not muscle mass we’re talking about.
You don’t need to take steroids or supplement like crazy to get big.
You need to:
a) stick to an eating plan day in and day out.
b) learn how to work out properly.
These are the two things you absolutely need to do, and they should be taken care of before you think of doing anything else.
There are no real shortcuts. You have to pay your dues or you’ll end up screwing things up.
The guys you see in magazines? They spent years and years of lifting before reaching that size. A lot of them got pretty fucking big before taking steroids. Also, google up some natural powerlifters and bodybuilders. They’re not small…at all.
hi, I haven’t read a single post of this big thread, but I have a question, if anyone willing to answer without flaming, thanks. Do those ab rollers thing work?
I got to 220 naturally. And I’m only 5’8". It definately is possible to get huge withouth muscle enhancing drugs.
I treat steroids and prohormones as supplements. You shouldn’t build your goals around them, you should use them to supplement your goals. I don’t say “I’m going to gain 10lbs on this or that” I say “I’m gonna take this, use what I know about it, and see what happens.” I always throughly research anything I put into my body before I do so, so I know at least what ot expect.
But back to your original question, it is possible to have a great physique without drugs. You just have to know what you’re doing. Dedicate yourself to your routine and proper nutrition, and you’ll see amazing gains. It just takes time.
Drugs are just a little push further. It probably takes more discipline to take those drugs, stick to your plan, then try to keep your gains than the discipline it takes to just work out. Steroids and PH’s aren’t miracle drugs, it takes hard work to keep your gains, and that’s pretty much the hardest part about taking it.
i worked out in the gym on training my back and minor training on the abs with my stomach filled up very little . i had a very small noon lunch , just 2 bananas .
i started work at 2 pm without pre-workout meal , and had a weight gainer shaker ( 0.6 serving ) after work. as a result , lethargic .
Yeah, that’s happened before. I wake up, drink a protien shake, tell myself I’m gonna hit the weights, then have breakfast at work. I’m yawning all the way through my workouts.
Just have a lot of carbs before you work out. It took me like a week to realise that my protien shake only had like 5g of carbs, that’s why I was so tired during workouts.
RedBull…it gives you wings. I know…not good for you really…but I just have got to have some caffeine sometimes…especially for those early morning workouts.
Also, Xpand is a creatine/nitric oxide optimizer (great product BTW, I highly recommend it, I was accused of juicing before I ever thought about my first cycle using this and protein shakes) comes in a version with a little caffeine in it that worked great for getting me psyched in the gym.
We found out about this exercise you can do for Triceps. I don’t know the name of it, but we picked it up from this big ass mortor captain and his huge infantry company commander gym buddy.
Since i dont know the name of it, i just have to describe it.
[]It’s like a bench press, except that on a normal flat bench press where your wrists face AWAY from the rack, your wrists face TOWARD it. Like reverse palm. I guess maybe it’s called reverse palm bench press?

It’s also wide arm.
Either way, it really works out the tri’s, seemed fairly safe too. Does anyone else know about this, if so, any more information on it?
EDIT: damn i had to edit my post, cause i was steady tryin to picture it to best describe it.
Yeah I’ve seen that one. Apparently Ben Wallace (huge guy if you’re not familiar with basketball) from the Detroit Pistons does that.
I have a question though for anyone with the time to answer it. Ive been doing the math, and I’m trying to follow a 40/40/20 (Carbs, Protein, and Fat) diet, but according to the numbers, with me being at 180, I’d have to eat 240g of both carbs and protein a day, and only 53g of fat. The fat doesnt seem hard, but the carbs and protein seems damn near impossible for me to eat. Am I doing something wrong?
Yep, i know who he is. It sure is an interesting exercise. Good to know it’s actually something that people do.
I’ve been eating lots of Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. Try that.
You get the carbs from bread, and the protein from the PB of course.
You can also take nitrotech, which has alot of protein in it.
AND, try those small cans of tuna fish. I eat plenty of those too. It’s good cause they taste great, and they don’t fill you up so you can eat a bunch of them if need be.
My friend does that with the curved bar. He straightens out vertically, then bends close toward his forehead.
Right now I tried benching again about after 2 or 3 weeks when I did it. Problem was doing my sets was a lot more difficult and I kept feeling my triceps being used. What can I do to isolate my chest? I wanna get back to my regular sets I was doing before and then increase weight in about a week and a half.
