Calcium deficiency. Buy some calcium pills and take the recommended amount every day. Muscle spasms and charley horses should stop, and you should start sleeping better too.

I wish I could do that. The managers/personal trainers get real serious and nasty with me when I talk. I called up today earlier asking about ballet slippers and the lady got snippy with me.

No shoes is probably best. If you’re doing Olympic lifts then you want a hard heel for the catch portion to stabilize yourself.

I might cop the low tops so they give more ankle mobility. How thick are the soles? I’m trying to get as close to barefoot as possible.

anyone ??

That’s what I always used. Not sure how thick the soles are, but not very, and they are fucking hard as a rock. They are perfect for lifting. Better than those expensive ass ones designed specifically for it anyway.

They are the least fucking comfortable shoes on the planet though, so only use them for lifting. Not sure how these people wear them around.

It’s a leg workout insofar as it works your legs…It’s still an aerobic activity, can’t use it in place of a leg related weight workout.

Yeah me neither. Gonna have to walk in my running shoes to the gym, change to lifting shoes, and then again switch for my run back.

I wish most gyms weren’t built to encourage ignorance. :arazz:

Hey

Im planning on starting to get serious about working out and about nutrition however i have no plan or goals or know what to eat or what to do when im going to start and its really putting me down and my motivation is getting affected at this point i would really like to talk someone about it but im not sure who to talk to so i was hoping maybe someone could help =S.

You should start by identifying your overall goal
Then depending on what it is, the people here will give you advice on how to achieve them

well i would definately like to loose a bit of my belly that i developed its not huge or anything but its been bugging me lately =P

well if you’re in no hurry, taking in 500-700 calories (healthy food) less than you burn a day, will slowly get you there. 3-4 small meals a day, with a healthy snack in between (protein shake). Exercise is not necessary but is always good for keeping a healthy heart. You can have a bigger caloric deficit but sometimes that will just leave you too hungry, and if you’re anything like me you’ll probably just give in and pig out lol

edit: and a basic rule, the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns without having to put out too much extra effort. so weight training would be a good idea as well.

i just started working out this week. If you buy all your own food than make sure you buy stuff that you can snack on but not junk food. oatmeal, low fat yogurt, fruits and veggies are a good start.

You’re not gonna be able to cut off the bad foods you eat like that and you should try to because you will drive yourself mad. my aunt and my uncle started working out together last year and eating better and they both got great result because they limited themselves to have one day of the week where they let themselves eat whatever they wanted, pizza mickyD’s whatever. thats what i’m gonna do because there are somethings i eat that i just love and i can’t see never eating them again

I use to do one day where I eat whatever, but now I changed it to only 10% of my meals. If I have 30 meals a week, then 3 of those can be anything to my liking such as 2 slices of pizza.

Where is the best place to look for cheap dumbbells (20-25lbs)? The prices I see are basically $1 = 1lbs which is absolutely retarded since they don’t do anything but be heavy.

$1/lb is kinda expensive. I’m not sure, but i THINK sports authority charges like 70 cents a lb or so. give or take.

edit: i completely lied. lol, i just checked the website. thats weird, because i bought 50lb dumbells awhile ago and i dont really think i’d spend 70 bucks on that shit haha. i could have sworn it was cheaper

i signed up for this recreation class at school called “boxing bootcamp” that meets once a week, and on the first day (yesterday) we did an assload of calisthenics (lunges, pushups, squats, jumping jacks, crunches) and shadow boxing. my core (ribs, abs, quads) has been sore as hell all day, but i still managed to hit the gym and bench a little and do some back exercises…my question is what type of workout should i be doing during the week to make it easier to get thru this class? i was thinking of doing some serious cardio 2-3 times a week would be a good idea, but what would you guys suggest?

Craigslist, by far. There are ALWAYS weights on there.

Though for something that light, I’d just pick up some plates and adjustable dumbbell bars. That way you can always add more, or less, depending.

Look for a exercise equipment surplus place around your area. There is one in sacramento, ca over here, where you can pick up ones ranging from .35 (shitty and rusted) up to 1.00 (chrome) a pound.

more boxing. your body isn’t used to moving in those kinds of ways. keep going and it’ll get used to it.

lol, thats a lot of pent up anger.

:rofl:I just had to post this

I thought i was random

Anybody know where I can order fish oil for cheap?

The last buy was from trueprotein.com which was 1000 capsules containing 300mg EPA & DHA for $35 (including S&H + tax). It lasted me roughly 3, maybe 4, months. Suggestions?
