Yeah it’s just one arm. No my arms are equally strong. It happens when I put any kind of pressure either curling or pushing down. I did some curls yesterday and it hurts right now.
i dont mind gaining some fat as long as i can keep my abs lol.
my friend, that is hard to do while bulking!
Damn, the fact that it happens on one arm only is troubling. I don’t know what to tell you about that. Does it feel like a sharp pain, soreness or burning
lol, the abs are the first to go…, for me at least
Sharp pain. It only hurts at my first curl. Then it hurts again when I release my grip on the bar.
Damn. You gotta make sure you aren’t fucking up your elbow joint. If you are sure it is actually muscle and not bone/ligament then it won’t be as serious, but I would say go see a physiotherapist if it persists. Try lighter weights and use dumbells if you are willing to continue.
A few questions might offer some solutions. How much time did you give it to heal? What are you using to curl, dumbbells, barbell, EZ curl bar, or something else? Are you confident that your technique is good?
joint support supplements has solved a bunch of sharp aches and pains i’ve had from working out. might want to try that too. i use universal’s animal flex
Hey everyone I haven’t posted for a bit, but my last diet venture went to shit. Actually it was going pretty good until I got extremely sick. I had my gallbladder removed because of it. Which is a good thing because it has been hurting me for years. Though, I had to stop exercising (doctors orders) so I can heall up externally, and internally. I just been cleared, but gained all my weight back.
I turn 30 this Nov 4th, and want to lose weight badly. It is beyond a need now. It is now time to change my life. I think it will help myself physically, mentally, and spiritually as well. Now that my first time got fucked up I need to get back into it.
I figure I will do running. I usually go into work at 9. I can wake up at 6:30 and run around my block. It is about a mile and a half long run. Not too huge, but good enough for me (out of shape as I am) to get a good sweat going. I figured do this every Mon/Wed/Fri. Then do some weights in between. I do not want to burn myself out so please tell me if I am over doing it.
My goal is to be at 200 pounds (currently 235) by Nov 4th. Is that possible without hurting myself, or making life so hard that it may fuck me up in other things (like school). I seriously just need a plan.
I also need supplement help. How are things like hydroxcut? I never took them when I was a swimmer. Of course I got a multi-vitamin to help me out. I don’t drink soda (maybe 1 or 2 a week…maybe). Thanks for the advice everyone ahead of time!
Real talk. Best lift evah.
I do. 6pm to 6am. I get into the gym in the early afternoon. And I’ve got school on one of those days.
Lifting will be a bigger contributer to weight loss than running will and it’s definitely possibly to lose the weight by November 4th.
I don’t think you need hydroxycut unless you’re trying to get very lean. A multi-vitamin is good. Whey powder post-workout would be helpful. The best thing to be taking is fish oil.
You mentioned school which really is a pain to schedule around. I tried 2 different things. First was fitting half of my workout into the weekend. I did this because I didn’t have to worry about getting to class. So either it would be exercise Th-Sun or Sat-Tues. The 2nd thing I did was trying to lift in the weekdays which was tough. I had to go to the gym late nights or mid-afternoon. I had to choose the days that were my least busiest which went well, but my schedule was more packed (cause of school work).
Check out pages 210 & 211 of this thread, there’s a lot of info you can check out.
I will check out those pages. Time is a HUGE factor for me. I am in a masters program and work 40+ hours a week. Fun stuff I know. So it hurts the workout time seriously. I will check those pages as well to see what can help.
I gave it about two weeks to heal. I just completely avoided doing anything with my arms. But as soon as I started back up it returned.
I’m pretty sure I’m not doing anything wrong. I took weights in high school and lift with a friend who lifts regularly.
Need some quick advice:
Let’s say I’m around 180-185 pounds (5’9" or so height) and decently muscled with about 10% bodyfat. I don’t have a gut but I don’t have abs either (only a feint outline is visible). At the moment I’m basically trying to become leaner but not lighter, as in, I want to add muscle and shed some fat. I think around 10-15 pounds of fat loss and 10-15 pounds of muscle gain will put me right where I want to be.
I like the weight I’m at for power, considering that I train Muay Thai. However, I could much better utilize my weight by becoming more powerful and lean. I also lift somewhat, but need to seriously get into it (need a goddamn gym membership…soon).
Enough story, my question is just:
Would Muscle Milk or Cytogainer be more beneficial towards achieving my goal? I already use Muscle Milk (usually right before bed), and it’s done me some good, but I think that the gainer would help to add the muscle I need (which would burn fat). However, I don’t want to gain fat, at all. Which one?
I’m 5’9" and about 145-150 pounds. I recently lost 10 pounds through dieting (1700 calories fats/protein) and boxing yet I’m still fat. A lot of people I talk to say that my weight is perfect for my height and that it is not fat at all. In fact most people I talk to who are in that weight range are quite lean.
So why am I still fat? What should I do? Lose more weight? I can’t handle this diet anymore so I’m taking a break but fuck man I love beer lol.
I’m in a situation where it’s hard for me to get to the gym consistently… I was going really early in the morning for awhile, but havnt done it do to work… I’m working over 40+ a week and it’s not physically draining but mentally I’m drained, so it’s hard to go after work too :/. When I was going, it was 90/10 cardio to weight training…, I don’t really care about gaining mass, but I really want to lose my beer belly and gain some definition…
I started by fixing my diet - I eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies, but I only eat twice a day,… No breakfast, lunch at 11ish (normally not very healthy) and then dinner around 7 when I get home from work… I’ve lost around 8lbs and am now 204 at 6’.
It’s hard for me to lay off the boos but I’ve drastically cut back, only drink water in the day, and now take a multi.
Can pushups/situps supplement gym work if I do them nightly? Or is there really just no substitute? (I also have sharp back pain/spasms when doing situps… I blame weak back muscles/belly… But I have no basis for that…, should I be concerned or is it normal when you are out of shape?)
I guess I’m just looking for some basic info and guidance… What’s the “best” alchohol to drink in terms of Alchohol? Something has to be much better than a 6er of beer…
Dude, you can’t just train to be me. you have to be born gifted with that shit.
As for alcohol, I don’t know about calories but vodka is the “cleanest” of liquors. beer is bad because of the carbs and the carbonation is bad for your stomach muscles.
Horrible typo lol…
Vodka eh? Damnit I hate vodka. Plus, you need something to mix it with which fucks yo’ drink up. How bad is Scotch or Whiskey? I can at least splash that with water to make it drinkable.
No idea. Drinking goose straight up actually isn’t that bad. I’m gonna look it up and then let the thread get back to nutrition and weightlifting. I bench 225 getting out of bed everyday.
Edit: After googling the shit out of this, apparently alcoholic drinks don’t contribute to weight gain and may infact cause weight loss. Alcohol isn’t used efficiently in the body so it doesn’t get properly digested, and what does get digested helps speed up your metabolism. Hmm. You guys jog. I’m gonna funnel a gallon of vodka.
I’m 5’11" 155 lbs and I’m lean as fuck. I have a bit of a gut (which I’m trying to get rid of). Stop drinking beer lol. And I think you just need definition. A lot of people confuse lack of definition with being ‘fat’, which is not true at all.
