Do it like an actual boxing match. Try 6 two minute rounds with a one minute break in between. Great exercise. Vary your punches, don’t just do the same thing over and over. And move around the bag a lot.

I do but i worn him

out.Time to get a new relative:lol:

Hey romie,

what you recommend? I wait about 1 year before I start going heavier weights? I started doing regular training for about two weeks now. my rep range now 8-10, hoping to go to 4-6 (Max-OT.)

Another thing… is it possible to gain muscle/lose fat? I’m still a beginner and I heard it is possible early on in the game… what do I do to maximize my gains in terms of muscle and fat loss?

I’d say move to heavier weight when you’ve gotten used to the form of the exercise, meaning doing it the right way without cheating. If you’re ready for that, then go ahead. It’s usefeul to have a spotter on hand, cause the first time I went heavy I didn’t exactly know how much I could do and for what reps, so I had my friend spot me for about a week.

Yes, for beginners it is. BAsically wha I’ve been saying all along. High protien diet.

Damn it it’s hard as fuck to try losing weight when you are hungry all the time. Damn chocolate and cookies :shake:

Hey romie I would like to hear how ur training is going…in terms of what ur trying to do and what ur getting accomplished, and how ur doin it…I.E. what supplements ur trying out and how u like em and other diet things ur doin…

As for me. I’m training 6 days a week now, splitting legs into 2 days and training other muscles with em…i.e. hams and bi’s, quads and tris…just started that…i’ll let u know how I like it. I’m trying out cytogainer and iso100 in terms of protein…(2 scoops cyto, 1 scoop iso, 2 cups skim milk) and I like it. My stomach’s not tore up all the time anymore…and I still slowly moving up slowly in every exercise and I’m workin chest twice a week now, want to see how that goes.

To those just starting out…this shit aint easy, it requires time, and lots of hard work and you have to stick with it…for years.

red-impact…if you’re serious into losing weight, you should try to eat 5-6 meals a day. it sounds crazy but if you eat 5-6 small meals (around 400 cal each) you’ll stay full and have energy throughout the day. this will keep a nitrogen and blood sugar balance. and most importantly, you won’t binge eat. the biggest problem with dieters, they think eating less will make them lose weight, but you just get weak and stay hungry (lose muscle tissue too). and i know no one wants that. i can give you more tips if you tell me your body size, how much you want to lose, and exercise routine.

by the way, this is a good thread. i’ll add what i can.

Can someone recommend me a good protein supplement w/o any added flavors?

I’ve been trying to take Nitro-tech lately and it tastes horrible. Great Vanilla Taste! Is that sarcasm? Anyway, I’ve heard the most effective types of supplements are the powders, but they all can’t taste as bad as this.

dont forget about sleep… thats like one of the most important thing.

and cofee drinkers change to green tea. same effect witout fatty and caffine and its good for u.

Im looking to stay light and flexible.

Optimum nutrition is a cheap protein that tore my stomach up. I drank 3 shakes a day and shit 5 times a day. I thought it was because I was drinking so much milk but when I changed to cytogainer/iso100 my stomach was fine and I’m starting to drink alot of milk again.

You get what you pay for. A good protein is going to be cytogainer/isopure/iso100. The last two are isolates, therefore REALLY easy on ur stomach and easy to digest. They don’t taste the best but if ur REALLY concerned about flavor then make protein smoothies out of em with a blender…just through in a scoop of protein, 4-6 ounces of water, ice, and maybe some peanut butter and a banana, or if it’s vanilla flavored protein try throwin in strawberries and a banana. That’ll taste pretty good if you do it right.

Also just makin ur protein shakes with whole or skim milk instead of water makes em taste alot better. Optimum Nutrition does taste pretty good though if you want to try it. I just hope you have better luck with it then I did.

ON is good. but if you want cheap, go to costco (forgot the name) 20$ for a 5lbs bucket with 23~24 grams of protein/serving. i think 1 gram more than ON’s whey. taste is so so though. it’s convenient for me.

When choosing a fruit to eat within your diet regime which apples are more healthy for you? Red (McIntosh, Gala, standard) or Golden (green) Apples?

Right now I’m 228. Still cutting. Getting some thick veins in my arms and legs to come out. Right now im doing straight cardio. No weights for now. I fractured some ribs about a week and a half ago. Moderately paced cardio 40 minutes a day, 6 days a week while dieting. I’m getting around 1700 cals. Around 200g’s of protien a day. I just can’t eat as much as before. My goal is 200 with abs… I should be pretty ripped at 190.

I’m down to 195 from 300
my goal was 225 but I just kept going

gonna change your av soon?

thats my xbl tag
I keep joining forums as FatGuy and most of my friends still call me fats (even though I now weigh less than most of them). I don’t mind the nickname.

pokes head back in here

Man, haven’t been in this thread in a while. Didn’t really intend to just post it and abandon it, but I didn’t really stick to the weights. Quit from December to May. Started back around the end of May. Definately sticking to it this time though, and I’m making good progress. I’m benching the most I’ve ever benched and I’ve finally broke the 140 lb weight barrier. I’m 142. =p

As for the apple question Nokato, I’m not sure. I personally love Gala apples, and I doubt the nutritional differences are noteworthy anyway. I’ve got three fruits I try and keep in my daily diet. Simply Orange w/pulp (it’s juice, but it’s practically an orange in a bottle), apples, and bananas. Occasionally I’ll buy something different for variety like a pineapple or some peaches or something. 'Tis good peach season right now.

Okay, here’s one…

do you have any routines that cater to asthmatics?

I have an activity induced asthma, and while I’ve learned to work around it, my cardio is limited because of it (I bicycle, but any long amount of running is virtually impossible)…

my current routine does a good job of keeping me at the weight I’m at, but it does NOTHING for lowering it, it’s basically just keeping me at my current weight…

I weigh 215 (slightly more in the Winter) with a little extra around the middle…I’m not saying I wanna be ripped, but I wanna look good in expensive clothes…a little definition wouldn’t be bad…

basically, I need some cardio routines that will get the heart going, but not take a toll on my lungs…is it an impossible prospect?
