Forward + many P or K makes for a short auto combo(after one hits), like a 3D game.
Mami 19 has a “forward, upforward, up + P” move lol. An upwards inverted qcf.
The move is the muscle crew doing a Naruto-with-clones style “swing people like a chain” move.
It’s kinda weird how this game has an input display even in 2P mode…
I guess if no one plays this game, we’ll just pretend week 2 never happened and play something more popular when week 3 starts.
It’s really too bad Tough Guy doesn’t have netplay.
yeah strangely enough the dealbreaker for me is the gameplay and not the characters
so we are looking for stuff with netplay right
does this work?
my feeling is that either the “obscure” or “netplay” criteria has to be expanded otherwise its going to be hard to find games to play. reason being a lot of really obscure games are obscure for a reason, i.e. theyre horrible. maybe we could do “obscure” as in “nobody plays it” instead of “nobody knows about it”? so i guess that would include games that died due to lack of exposure or something
anyways you guys have fun, ill check back next week
Well, I’ve learned you need hype to keep this thing working.
So let’s choose something popular for tomorrow adn see if we can get things running again…
@Domino: Yeah, I’d rather play something less obscure than something without netplay now that I’ve experienced the fun of it.
Emblemlord suggested Yu Yu Hakusho Final (SNES)
Loler mentioned the Asura games (ARC), they’re awesome too. Can they be played on 2df/ggpo?
Riotings doesn’t have netplay (maybe N64 does), but they’re certainly interesting games
Dominos Ninja Master’s looks nice to. Works on 2DF?
I love Spectral, but it’s certainly not netplayable. Unless pcsx2 has gotten something like that, but the more advanced emulation the more chance for desynch I think.
We got lucky with Ossu Karatebu. A broken obscure fighter that actually turned out to be pretty fun and we picked it on a whim. This was some serious ass luck right here. To expect this to happen again would be silly on our part. We shouldn’t be so naive. We need to research the games a bit before we dive in. If something seems stupid and not fun, then why go out our way? I doubt it will end well.
We shouldn’t seek terrible games on purpose. This should be fun and exciting. Not a second job. At least we shouldn’t seek games so terrible that it makes our eyes bleed. Games like Matsumura Kuni Hiroden are a whole different level or horror compared to most bad fighters.
You’re talking to the creator of the Rise 2 Resurrection thread here so…
I think there’s a certain charm to bad and old games. And there’s fun to be had with broken games too, as certain games I won’t mention has proved. Especially if it’s only for a week. Personally I don’t need a game to be good and balanced, in fact… I want to break it! :lovin:
And then have matches using the brokeness to the max.
Kinda like seeking out “virgin” games and screwing the hell out of them.
Regarding Cho Aniki, I think it would have been pretty fun and unique when playing competitively, but obviously the graphics scared people of lol. Should have seen that coming…
But I’m not opposed to playing good games, bring on Yu Yu or Asura.
But back to the games, how do we decide a game? We should appoint someone to handle decisionmaking(I kinda suck at it…) or maybe we should vote or something…
