This format is created to not only initialize intense gameplay, but to further train people into the experience of how important each match is, thus improving experience and focus to a higher level.

Best of 10:
There will be times people are behind in the pts. and would like to challenge people with higher point structure for a leap in the rankings. Therefore, the Best of 10 can be accepted at any time after the first week is completed.

For example, if someone is ranked 10 pts (1st place), and another is ranked 2nd-8th, anyone from the lower ranks can challenge the higher ranked players to a Best of 10:

The RULES:

-A challenge must be decreed on the SAME GAME where both players are ranked. One cannot challenge the other on another game if they aren’t either unranked at all, or are listed in different rankings for different games.

-Whoever wins 10 games before the other is declared the winner. Players, regardless of the outcome, can change characters and supers, with the exception of Akuma and O.Sagat in Super Turbo, Gill in 3S.

-any lower ranked player can challenge a higher ranked player ONCE and only ONCE every month, regardless of Ranbat point rank. No tiebreaking ranking challenges.

-If a lower ranked player wins the higher ranked player, they are awarded 5 extra bonus Ranbat points. If they lose, they do not earn anything AT ALL. (sort of like a coin flip situation)

-At any time, should a Higher ranked player forfeits against a lower ranked, or isn’t present during the challenge, the lower ranked player is awarded 5 ranbat pts.

-Should a lower ranked player forfeits against a higher ranked, or isn’t present during the challenge, he loses the privelage of challenging that player for the entire month.

Ranbat Awards Structure: (points are used at the end of every season for free admissions to W2z’s special events such as Slammin Saturday Nights, the Super Preperation Opera or S.P.O before Evo East and Evo Finals, etc…)

**ANNOUNCEMENT:

This week’s Ranbat (Dec. 14) will be postponed until Friday, Dec. 28.

Should people arrive this Friday @ W2Z, please don’t fret. Ranbats will continue the next time at the end of December.

See you then.

I’d hate to be honest here, but I will.

The postponing of the ranbats is what is making people not wanna go. It throws off people’s timing with whatever work/school/life issues they may have.

2nd is the fact that w2z staff are douches and couldn’t give a crap about who goes in during CAS.Fri.

3rd - Attendance has been going down since after I think SSN 2. General interest just dropped. There’s no need to go there.

4th - John(Alex) started to get very inconsistent with the dates of Smash tournies and not informing people and I feel that had turned people off to attending (myself included)

CF just got GGAC, and people have been flocking there for the play that the scene has been missing for a good ~4 years now. W2Z just isn’t fun anymore. Scheduling just got very inconsistent and people stopped going. Because of that, more people stopped going because the comp they wanted weren’t going.

exactly

i need to come to this shit i be in hades to long

This sounds hype. Maybe I’ll make it to one of these one day.

you might want to take another look at nick t’s post, dont set yourself up for failure

wait so there was a ranbat yesterday for GGAC and I missed it?

**Want another reason? W2Z has already one of my friends, a regular Friday head, that due to the lack of biz their next idea is to shut down the casual Smash area and make it somewhat of a studio. In that case, I realized that I couldn’t continue on with the RanBats since it was the decision of not the douches there, but the upper brass. The primary decision was to kick the console players out and make room for more computer space, but since that hasn’t happened yet, they’re just waiting until people start making moves from one thing to the next.

John(Alex) told us months before that this was just about to happen right when some people wanted to resign on the fact that they wanted to pursue something else rather than work in a place where other doucheballs would have that same exact attitude. Therefore, I couldn’t do much to change their ways nor their attitude whatsoever.

Even till now that CF has GGXX:AC it’s just not the same as it used to be, which I totally agree. At the same time, thanks to this type of notice I will be forced to cut the Ranbats for good until I receive note from W2Z’s managament that it’s fine to continue these sort of events. Even I, who tried to organize it as much as possible, realized that the less attention given to W2Z, would be their downfall.

Thus ends one era that was great until their last notion.

If anyone wants to do Ranbats with me or with W2Z, I’ll be more than interested. Otherwise, it’s not my fault. Ultimately, it’s theirs and theirs only…**

I had fun while it lasted man, but I doubt I will be attending this season or any other at w2z. I’ll get in touch and we can play some games some time though, at CF or elsewhere.

DSp ran the biggest & best tournies at w2z with no mention whatsoever

ggpo DSP

any1 here got a sega saturn pad they can sell me? i been lookin everywere

**I’ll second that. Pity we haven’t seen him in a while. So much for an era we both loved and hated.

Otherwise, for the Saturn Pad you can check out videogamesnewyork, that vg store in 6st- not to far away from W2Z.**

We need to get another tourney going in the area. Web2Zones were awesome.

yea, wats good with getting slammin saturday nights started back up again?

I Agree Bitches

I’m working on something at another venue

oh, good shit.

Get hype!
