My team is GR (chain)/Shehulk(clothesline)/Chunli (legs). Call shehulk before you do a jumping S and every sucessful hit becomes a crumple. Gives you days to come up with a combo. Been trying to do some fancy combos with the three without meter. So far I’ve only managed to do 650,000 without meter or x-factor(uses 1 bar).
Thinking of swapping Chun out for someone else if I don’t find some interesting combos for her with the team.
I’m going to be using Ghost-Hawkeye horizontal-Doom missiles.
I think Ghost needs some horizontal coverage. Too many people are weaseling away from me outside of my range and avoiding missiles. Plus Hawk can self otg and make use of Doom missiles. I think it can be played Hawk in front too, so if I DHC out it should be cool with Ghost’s spire for defense plus nullifying projectiles.
I had previously been using Firebrand 2nd, who is a beast in his own right, but he doesn’t really benefit Ghost Rider during regular play outside of setting up some oki and having a good DHC.
On a side note; I love Ghost’s j.C. It stops so much bs like dive kicks and predictable jump ins.
Ive been using Ghost Rider (Heartless Spire), Vergil (Judgement Cut), Doom (Plasma Beam). Seems to be working so far, Vergil and GR extend each others combos pretty nicely and Doom’s Beam assist helps with GR’s Zoning and Vergil’s teleport mix ups.
The team I’ve been using with GR is Ghost Rider (Chain of Rebuttal), Dormammu, (Dark Hole), and Wesker (Samurai Edge). The team works out pretty neat. Whenever I use Wesker, the chain of rebuttal assist is godly. Then again, it’s Wesker. I want to expand my team by switching out Wesker with someone. Suggestions?
Doom, Sentinel, Akuma, Strider, Hawkeye would be my top picks. You basically want anyone who has an assist that can cover a lot of the screen. It’s tough to run Rider and Dorm sometimes because of Dorm’s lackluster assists, good luck!
I’ve just started running a Ghost Rider team, and am using him (spire assist), Deadpool (quick work), and Arthur (daggers). Ghost Rider and Deadpool can both keep away and go in for mix-ups with Arthur’s dagger assist, and both work as great batteries for the meter dependent Arthur. If I think I need Arthur in gold armor, Ghost Rider’s spire assist is a get-off me assist for point-Arthur. Deadpool also gives me an unblockable.
I use this team because I really like the characters, but it is pretty effective.
I haven’t played the game so excuse my theory fighting but what about this team
Ghost Rider (Chain)
DeadPool (quick work)
Strider(Vajra)
Deadpool’s assist hits low from a far enough range to do Ghost Rider’s eat chain to make it unblockable while Strider’s assist is great for helping Ghost Rider’s keep away. I feel that GhostRider and Deadpool could potenially be another Best friends forever but that’s just my theory
I am currently using GR (spire)/thor/hawkeye (greyhound). My question is which assist should i choose for thor between spark or smash to help ghost rider.
Does spark come out fast enough to complement Jump+S? Then that. Smash is an otg combo assist right? GR’s got his own otgs. Also, if you can hit confirm H,H off of spark like you can off of plasma beam or unibeam then go with that.
I just started using hsien-ko(spiny blade)/ghostrider(heartless spire)/sentinel(drones). As soon as the match starts activate Hsien-Ko’s super armor ultra and tag her out. She won’t ever be knocked of her animation and it will almost every time. Use her and the drones and it will be easy to keep a lot of characters out.
Does Thor’s Spark also have the GTFO property on assist? If it does, go with that.
I respectfully disagree!
Doom’s Missiles work better with GR and help him extend combos further. Plus, they’re useful when facing a Zoning team that likes to take to the air. Blaze doesn’t really need a beam assist, since his chains can reach far enough.
ghost rider/ haggar lariat / aa assist (such as jam session or tenderizer) seems like a good team for ghost rider. and if he falls, haggar is still beastly and can work with an air control assist pretty well.
In my opinion, the top 5 get off me assists for Ghost Rider that get the job done without effecting his overall team synergy are:
Akuma - Tatsumaki Zankukyaku - This is THE BEST assist for ghost rider hands down. Get off me, combo extender, projectile nullifyer, and offensive pressure all in one assist. Although it seems to make up for a lot of ghost rider’s weaknesses, you have to be careful and not get akuma killed because of his low health. So be smart with the assist calls.
Dante - Jam Session - Covers ghost rider’s biggest blind spot. On hit GR can combo off of it so feel free to use it mid-combo/as a defensive tool. On block it pushes the opponent far enough for GR to restart his offense without punishment. Also, since it is technically a projectile assist, it can also nullify some projectiles.
S. Skrull - Orbital Grudge - An assist with a little super armor and great juggling propperties. With this assist he is a great candidate for mid-combo extensions, DHCs, and THCs.
Hsien Ko - Senpu Bu - After using Rimoukon with Hsien Ko, your ghost rider will be ANNOYING with this assist offensively and defensively. Normally people won’t use Hsien Ko because of her low damage output, lack of Rimoukon synergy (in both ease of safe execution and meter expenditure), and scaling after the assist lands. Fortunately for GR, he is not scared of a little scaling and meter is definitely not an obstacle. She is someone to consider if you are willing to take the time to learn her and keep GR as the main focus of your team.
Hulk - Gamma Charge (Front) - Great for pushing the opponent away a little. If your team needs damage/lacks in the health department i would suggest slapping hulk as the middle man. DHCs for Hulk means massive damage and GRs combo ability still remains solid. He can deliver high damaging comboes off of an alpha tag and benefits greatly from all of GR’s assists!
Honorable mentions (because they are more or less 3rd character dependant)
Vergil - Rapid Slash - Pushes the enemy a significant distance away. Great if you are in a pinch, but can be problematic with certain comboes and pushing certain characters away (Taskmaster, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Arthur, Nemesis, Morrigan, RR, Etc.). Absolutely great at using all the meter GR will be building though.
Haggar - Lariat - Great get off me assist with a good amount of invincibility. Great for apha tags and he benefits from all of GR’s assists. Unfortunately this team-up solely benefits GR’s defensive gane as Haggar doesn’t benefit GR offensively and Haggar has other assists to do the job better than GR. Be advised, using a GR/Haggar team can be VERY rewarding if used correctly, but demands a good amount of experience and a carefully chosen 3rd character.
Iron Fist - Rising Fang - Another great getoff me that can send the opponent completely across the screen, BUT uses GR’s wall bounce which limits GR’s meter gain and damage. This can be made up for later in a match when GR has enough meter for DHCs and alpha counter. The assist can Nullify projectiles as well, but the trajectory and timing is kind of strange.
Jill - Somersault - GRs best Alpha counter candidate. Unfortunately this assist offers less than her other assists in the damage department and her DHCs are generally not worth it. Essentially she suffers from the same issues that Haggar does. Once again a GR/Jill team can be rewarding, but demands an even greater amount of experience (especially with jill) and a great understanding of the matchups. Matchups that are dangerous to jill are not so dangerous to GR. and vise-versa.
Firebrand - Demon Missile - Great DHC potential and a very easy to use combo extender, because of Firebrand’s range. GR definitely helps Firebrand as an assist, but not as well as others.
And that’s my quick little rushed guide to “Get off me assists” with GR. Hope it helps. =)
One last note. The key factor to making sure GR has an effective, purposeful, secure spot on your team is your ability to block and knowing when to block. Familiarize yourself with your matchups and take some losses to learn how and when to strike for victory. A get off me assist does not guarantee victory by any means. Take no shame in admitting that GR does not belong in your team. Good luck =)
And if any of you find this comment useful. Keep an eye out for my soon to be released Ghost Rider guide (i’m slow i know). Youtube is in the siggy!
I initially played this team by chance, while playing all random battles with my brother. I thought it had potential so run it a few times.
GR can hide under the Eye while building meter for the next two characters, first two characters benefit from daggers as pseudo drones., and Arthur with gold armor and XF3 is just retared. DHC options are good and the only downside I see is no combo-extensions (None that I can think of anyway. Im new to all three characters after all.). What do you guys think?
