Ghost Rider feels incomplete without Taskmaster Horizontal Arrows to me. Easy combo extenders off hit confirmed random arrows are always nice, pushback is nice and the chip adds up with GR’s chip quickly.I usually run Tasky as anchor and Ghost Rider on point. The middle spot is up for grabs though. Will likely be either Amaterasu or Dormammu, depending on matchups (Ammy for rushdown, Dorm for extra zoning).

I think we have a winner for team staples. I’m sure many of you have seen this already.
EDIT: So I’ve been testing the team by replacing sent with deadpool to play with the effectiveness of unblockable combos (GRider/Deadpool/Doom). You can do j.S, A1 (Quick work), H, H, 623+L, H + A2 (doom missles), H, 214+H, dash, H, 214+L, 236+L, Maelstrom, DHC Trigger Happy.
With mashing it does about 870,000 ~ consistently and builds exactly 1 bar. It’s an unblockable that kills Vergil and a lot of the other new cast members at start. DHCing again into the finger lasers super isn’t worth it though, the damage bonus is balls.
Also j.S, A1 (Quick Work), H, H, 623+L, H+A2 (Missles), H, 214+H, dash, H, 214+L, Spirit of Vengeance (H follow up after reaching corner), DHC Cutting Time, DHC Sphere Flame I’ve been able to make hit 1,000,100 dmg a few times.
Keep in mind you might want to use 623+M instead of 623+L after the A1 because sometimes when you follow up they’re a little high and cause the 623+L to wiff/not wallbounce/only get the wallbounce hit. It depends on distance too. Also timing the A1 with the j.S is a little tricky at first but not hard, imo it’s not derpy to do it effectively and is derpy just to hit without a consistent follow up.
I was looking forward to trying out Thor with his beefy HP but honestly I think the synergy is much, much greater here. I really like this team and I especially like teams that can do kill combo DHCs reliably. I think Switching Doom for Sent is viable too I just think I use Doom as a better anchor than I use Sent.
The ending of that video is GODLIKE!
As for my Zarathos team, Im thinking Rider + Strider and someone else, looking at my best character Dormammu.
I’m thinking about running Trish (peekaboo or hopscotch)/ Ghost Rider (heartless spire)/ Nova (Cent Rush)
This team seems horrible against teleport characters so I’m thinking that hopscotch might be the better assist. DHCs seem good. You get the Round harvest set up with Ghost Rider low attack + Nova Assist. Heartless spire gives Trish that OTG assist she needs for air throws and extending combos + a good assist overall. Nova is a good anchor it seems.
I’m at school and I really haven’t been able to try it out, this is all theory.
What do you guys think? I’m having a hard time in general trying to find a main team with all the characters I want to use. I’m thinking about running Team DMC or Vergil/ Sentinel/ Strider too (Sentinel is actually like my best character besides Trish)
Trish and Blaze are practically BFF in this game, with both benefiting from each other’s assist. I think Nova has a low-hitting assist, and if he does it can set up for great Ghost Rider unblockables. So all-in-all, not a bad team. Just gotta decide who’ll be the anchor (my suggestion, Trish.)
I’ve been playing:
Ghost Rider (Chain Assist)/ Taskmaster (Horizontal arrows)/ Spencer (Slant Shot)
Ghost rider does a pretty good job of building lots of meter for me and taskmaster assist is incredible for him. Once you get them to block a chain they have to block another unless they want the arrows to start a combo for me. Spencer slant assist of course gets me a launch after ghost riders regular BnB for some great damage.
All of this leaves a lot of meter for task and more importantly Spencer should I get mauled badly enough to need to try to cheese my way to a victory with level 3 Spencer.
I’m working on learning to get my team to work together in any order should someone try to snap in Spencer or I get Task killed by calling him too much during my zoning game. Slant assist needs to be there for Ghost Rider and I’ve stolen combofiends task/slant assist setups so that can’t budge but, I’m trying to figure out which Ghost Rider assist works best for Taskmaster should I need to DHC him out for safety or for a kill. The chain is okay so far and Task doesn’t need a wall bounce so I’m working it into my combos.
When I run Spencer and GR, GR’s Assist Type B is most useful. Primarily because it gives Spencer an easy OTG into a vertical grapple (and probably a Bionic Manuevers afterwards), adding to combo damage. Type A is good for swinging around and fishing for a combo/mixup, but using up the wallbounce is not ideal for Spencer’s combos.
And yes, as I said above, Tasky arrows feel like a requirement for Ghost Rider, since they actually go fullscreen and lead to easy hit confirms.
I’m thinking about running a ghost rider(spire) deadpool(quickwork) nemmy(clothesline rocket) team don’t have the game on me right now but i’d like to know if you guys think this team would be viable at all
Ok so I thought long and hard, and heres my team: cabeza de fuego.
Zarathos aka Ghost Rider whipping dat Chain of Rebuttal assist for combo extensions.
The Dread One aka Dormammu opening the portals to the dark dimension, Dark Hole assist for combo extensions.
Last but not least, The Strider who’s the best in the business, using Vajra assist for unblockables for both Ghost Rider and Dormammu and extending combos and air control, Strider is a godly anchor aswell.
Thoughts?
Edit: was told Strider assist doesn’t hit high. sign.
At the moment, my ghost rider team is:
Ghost Rider ?, Deadpool quick work, Doom missiles
What assist should I use for ghost rider?
I usually use the deadpool unblockable to start my combos and then thc to deadpool for high damage combos. Eventually, if all goes well, ghost rider is alive and not on point so I’m not sure what assist to use…
Since Strider doesn’t hit overhead, Im going to play a bit with Ghost, Dormammu & Nova with his over head assist for unblockables for both Dormammu and Ghost.
I just thought of something. Ironman repulsar blast assist to cover ghost rider? I think everyone forgot he had that…
Ghost Rider (Pillar) / Hawkeye (Greyhound/Rag Time Shot)/ Spencer (Slant Shot)
I’m pretty new to Marvel, but this has been working quite well for me so far. Everyone can Self-OTG, so there’s no need for any combo-only assists.
DHCs are easy, and when shit goes wrong, you can fallback onto Clint and Spencer with X-Factor Gimlet/Lancer BS.
Novas rush assist hits high and it setups up for easy unblockables, with Ghosts cr. H.
Now I’m just thinking on a third.
I’ve been trying to optimize a ghost rider team and I think I’m settled on GR/Dorm/Doom using rebuttal, dark hole and muzzles respectively I think its as synergistic as any team with GR is going to get. Dark hole sets up a rebuttal combo if you get them randomly and you can step inside it for some protection. The pillar protects doom and TACs and DHCs work real well (dooms are kinda whatever. Work mostly for himself) . This is what works for me, I like mostly keep away but with well roundedness to be able to get in when needed. Also damage and ease of use is important, I’ve given up on trying to be a technical master when I can use a character with better priority and equal potential and just focus on mind games.
Only ones I haven’t tested extensively is Dante and hawkeye so I’m probably going to give them a try next but with the little I played with hawkeye his dhc into gimlet is meh dmg. IMO I think gimlet is better popping someone then going into storms hailstorm dhc. Also assist wise hawkeye is good but dark hole lingers and set ups well. I also did some use with Thor and Storm and Ironman. Thor is best followed by ironman repulsar blast assist then last storm who’s assist are whatever. Thor’s mighty strike is very devious, can auto correct against a teleporter, causes a ground bounce for perfect set up into bnb and he has a lot of HP. And while he’s way better in ultimate I don’t use him very well but he’s a competent character only his duck options are meh and require SoV to work right. Storm I like a lot especially her although but I think shed be better in another team with another focus. Ironman, my favorite character, is too hard to use and repulasar isn’t that good and unibeam is decent but better suited for Wesker or Virgil point IMO.
Not sure, gotta check.
Not a bad team, though. You will have to use Blaze as more of a battery to build up meter should they break past the chain, leaving Strider by himself. But with his assist, you have a weapon against super-jumping keepaway (Chris, Trish, Deadpool, etc.)
Just learned Storm goes great with Blaze. Maelstrom DHC’s into Ice Storm well, and vice-versa. And the Whirlwind assist is a great backup to push 'em back from getting too close. Don’t know many combos with her though, so I’ll stick with Hawkeye for now.
^I switched out Dormammu for Nova for his assist that hits high.
So the team I’m using is,
Ghost: Chain of rebuttal
Nova: Centurion Rush
Strider: Drop kick
I’m still messing around with GR. I’ve found that GR with doom missiles is beast.
So far I like GR-Trish hopscotch-Doom missiles, but that’s just because Trish is just so good. Ghost really doesn’t benefit too much from the trap assist because he’s already got some good AA’s, and it doesn’t really help combos (to my knowledge).
I also have tried GR-Strange bolts-Doom missiles, and it’s good but I like the eye of agamotto assist since it helps against pressure and you can use it to continue combos that would would otherwise be less damaging. Strange is a hard character to get a hang of imo, but he’s pretty good.
If Strange doesn’t work out I’m going to copy yalls GR-Spencer teams, since spencer is a beast in this game.
Other characters I think would be good with him are Iron Man beam/repulsor, RR log, Deadpool angled guns,
Hows strange + Ghost working out for some of you?
I’m thinking about switching out Trish for Dante on my team. His AAA would help a lot for those super-jumpers, and he does have a few more offensive options. But Trish is just beast on Anchor and I don’t know how Dante would operate like that.
Input welcome…
