We top tier, folks!

lolwut?

Top tier means the best in the game. If you had to choose between Dalshim, Chun and Bison i don’t know who’s the better

I meant, how can he be “not the top tier” and “OP” at the same time. Those two statements contradict each other.

Chun is the better character. Dhalsim is very good but he is more gimmicky.

Some of these tier assessments don’t seem correct. Alpha 2 and Alpha 3 he was a decent mid tier, not low tier. Especially in Xism during the latter. I’m also not sure about this but I think he was top tier in Alpha 1.

Also how was Bison low tier in ST exactly when he could kill you in one combo?

Bison is high tier in SF5, not top.

I would love to hear how he’s op. He has terrible walk speed, no wake up option other than CA, and his only overhead is devil reverse.

You can not be overpowered and not top tier. That doesn’t make any sense.

To be honest my knowledge of the Alpha games is pretty low. Just going by what I hear. I heard in Alpha 3 he wasn’t great because his V-ISM combo’s where poor and that A-ISM was his best ISM.

Bison wasn’t low tier in ST but in the lower half of mid tier. All characters in ST could kill you with one characters but Bison’s was the most viable.
But Bison had a lot of issues in ST. Weak anti air, no reversal without super which left him prone to tick command grab loops and corner traps and he a terrible time dealing with fireball traps in the corner. Chun-Li and Honda where terrible match ups in that game for Bison and he lost comfortably to Dhalsim, Balrog, O.Sagat, Dee Jay, Ryu, Ken, O.Ken.

Old.M Bison was the worst character in Super Turbo, no super means no reversal, no ability to soften throws, devils reverse was much worse, less horizontal priority on his pokes and no hell attack juggle. His only plus was that his pokes where more likely to avoid low attacks.

Azza Chun has instant air legs which are the main blowup as she’s putting you in a tricky situation when Bison is in a pressure string. They’ll tear open any throw attempts. Think of SSF4 Cammy regular TK strikes. Quite similar. She isn’t negative on them on block infact I believe she is positive.

The neutral isn’t much different to SF4 Bison - Chun besides that. You need to hold onto that v gauge though for v reversal.

On the original topic I think Bison is strong in this game.

Instant air legs will become a bit less strong as people learn to AA it better. It has shit priority and you can pretty much guess throw out a button to stop it if you know she may start it.

I’ve only encountered instant air legs pressure in one game and admittedly I got wrecked by it. Punished throw tech attempts several times. Haven’t encountered too many good Chun’s yet or many Chun’s for that matter.

Brian is always up for games if you want any. He has a strong Chun.

His fighter ID is BTM_Brian

Talking just this match up, it’s not gonna get weaker as a tool IMO.

Instant air legs is like real strong, safe on block and paired with her jab it’s just summons high defense and quick response on the Bison player’s part.

When you get into tight spots where most people are going to attempt to tech because she moves fast, it’s gonna blow up Bison.

I don’t think she’s like crazy good over Bison but there’s definite favor for Chun in here.

So how about making knee press not safe on block no matter where do you do it? They wanted it to be unsafer and gave the lk and mk version bad frame data, but they are still safe if you space the move properly.

I’m not a fan of special moves that leave you close to your oponent and they are safe on block.

No. It would make Bison’s neutral game weaker and significantly reduce his corner pressure and ability to score chip damage. Opponents could just down back and punish it every time and react to his other options. Blast doesn’t have range to be a threat and has too much push back to allow for follow up pressure, DR and HP and SSD get evaded or anti aired consistently at high levels of play and Inferno is already very unsafe. Forward dash is counter able with mash jab. Would leave only DF+HP as is over forward moving which attack is a 15 frame move. Jumping is not going to work at high level and while his pokes are good his walk speed is not.

I think its fine as is, Bison spaces the move correctly (which isn’t hard) he gets nothing more out of it on block because of push back and still being negative on block. Scissor Kick is and always has been a good move, however its still very vulnerable to neutral jump counters.

Traditional Bison has always had to space his SK to make them safe. IV was the exception with the 0 on block LK.SK (in Ultra -1)

bison is fine the way he is
your opinions on bison give me cancer though

Bison’s Knee Press is already unsafe on block. Spacing it for out of punish range is a more conscious required effort. What is the point of taking that away?

What is the point of making it completely unsafe? There’s no other good tools on this character. Inferno is punishable on block. Psycho Blast has no range until you VTrigger.

Who do you use? Why keep this character on the roster? A lot of people can complain but can’t think.

Not a fan of the portion of the community that only comes up with complaints for the sake of their own character.

Might as well make fireballs punishable on block from more than half screen away by Dhalsim’s 20f normals too. Fireballs are too strong.

Watching FR19 and so far no Bisons qualified in Winners. Tampa Bison qualified in losers, TA Moons just lost and needs to win to get out, Dogura qualified in losers too. Top tier?

Did Moons end up making it out of his pool?

Yes, he managed to get out.

I feel that bison is very strong but not top tier. As an early placement, I would put him high tier but the tier list is so well compressed that it doesn’t feel like characters have complete dominance over one and another

I’d place him 8th out of 16 or similar to that. Just by watching A LOT of FR19 this weekend. There was 1 Bison in winner’s top 128 :frowning:
