Ok . .and the demo is WHERE?
They might as well keep it to themselves now. Whats the point of releasing a demo with the game less than a month away? Thats foolishness.

That’s not how it works.
Even if the game is out, people who want to get an idea what they would get by purchasing it, can try out the demo for free, first. The game being out, has no play on this scenario. Simple business here, guy.
Then why get the demo when the game is coming out a weeks later?
If you want to “try it out” then you might as well get the full experience, and if you dont like THAT then I could see you returning it for store credit or something.
Why not release the demo early, and see what the people think about the test version.
Sounds crazy to me, more so because the demo is supposedly the same test version (maybe a bit updated) from a year and a half ago. I couldnt imagine the upcoming demo having anything new and unseen when the real release is so close.
When was the DMC3 demo released? Something has me wanting to say at least 2-3 months before the actual release.
Most of the people in this thread are DMC fans, and therefore are going to buy the game no matter what. We don’t need a demo to aid in our buying decision…but after waiting and anticipating for so long, we’d love to have a little taste. Its like when the first 10 minutes of a movie gets leaked on the internet - sure, it makes more sense to wait and see the whole thing, but that 10 minutes is there and boy are we hungry. Why bother with an appetizer before a meal?
As great as DMC is, not every gamer is a fan. If you have a demo up, perhaps someone sitting in their living room bored one day will think “Hmm, DMC4 demo, what’s this?” Give it a download, really like it, decide to buy it.
Realistically speaking, I knew nothing of the Ratchet and Clank series…but I downloaded the demo off the PSN, and it was awesome, so I bought it. I was curious about Heavenly Sword, so I downloaded the demo, and I didn’t like it that much. So, no need to buy.
Demos are wonderful, and save you the time/effort of renting a game you’re not quite sure about yet.
You’re still missing the point. I’ll let the thought of a “Free, Downloadable demo” sink in for minute.
It doesn’t matter if the full title is out, or not. A free demo is for the people who don’t want to buy the full thing, for whatever reason it may be, so they can try it out. A demo is INSTANT, try out right the fuck now. You’re missing the point of what a demo is in it’s entirety.
It’s like buying a car. You don’t sign all the paperwork, purchase the car, drive off the lot, without testing the motherfucker first.
And if you dont want to spoil the game, then you could just not download it.

Regardless, it should have been out. I would have preferred a demo as opposed to arguably the most spoiler filled game “trailer” I’ve ever seen in my entire gaming career.
The first ten minutes are free and watchable at home while the movie costs $10 and requires a drive to the theater. What if you don’t like the first 10 minutes? Then you wasted less time and no money, and you move on. And if you liked it? Then you’re probably going to go to the theater to watch the rest.

Its Devil May Cry. Based on the footage alone you know the game is going to be “GOOD” at worst. And you can even base DMC4 on the franchise as a whole, fairly good. . if not great minus the one blip which was DMC2.
Its like a Star Wars movie. . at the very worst. . its still gonna be sold out at 12 o clock midnight.

You would think if the selling point of DMC4 were among other things “hours of cutscene footage” then the least they could do was withhold among other things. . boss fights and plot twisters.

There are some ads up on Gametrailers and other game sites for Devil May Cry 4. The demo should be coming soon. They did say in January.
For those that own all 3 platforms (PS3, 360, and an awesome PC), which version are you planning on getting? I’ll be getting the PS3 version because I’ve always played DMC with a PS controller including the PS3 demo at SDCC - but the 360 version is also tempting with rumble (no DS3 yet) and achievement points.
Hopefully the demo comes out before release day so I can try both console versions at the same time.
Tempted by the PS3 version because I heard it looked slightly better, also having 1080p support is nice. I also might prefer the controller there. Truth be told tho I will probably end up buying it on the 360 for the achievement points. I dont like them with most games, but with games Im excited for I usually like to see what theyve set and if Im enjoying the game enough I’ll try to complete a few of the more difficult tasks. So 360 for me.
PC is strictly for Oblivion only. Atleast thats how its been so far.
I’ve heard that the games look exactly the same in-game.1-Up says they look the same(Save the opening sequence which looks better on Ps3),EGM says that the Ps3 version looks better in-game,Gamepro says the 360 version looks better in-game.
I’m going to buy it for 360,but as a person that is used to the Dualshock,it will be sucktacular to play on a 360 controller(Although it can rumble).
PS3 version for me.
