I took pictures of the DMC4 banners they had outside the booth but after Friday it was impossible to get back in the area to play because there was a long line of people waiting to play the game. It was a very small area and stuff. I wanted to go back in to take pictures of the screens but I didnāt want to stand on line to take pictures of them. Ack I wish I would of taken pictures on Friday when I played the game but I didnāt think of it at the time. Ha ha EVERYONE wanted to play DMC4. :tup:
I will talk about the panel and anime at the show in much greater detail tomorrow, Iām freaking tired from getting back from the con lol! Quickly, I want to say that the same actor who does Danteās voice in DMC4 is doing his voice in the DMC anime, we saw the first episode dubbed in English and it was REALLY GOOD and this is coming from someone who hates 90% of all dub jobs. Ha ha he even cursed saying āshitā two times in the anime whoa he gave the show a whole lot of personality. :tup:
Oh and ADV said if you buy the Collectorās Edition you will get the first disc of the DMC anime but not the box for the anime. However if you log on to ADVās website and give them your address after purchasing, not only will they send you the box FOR FREE, it will also include a five dollar coupon off volume 2. HOT DAMN WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT! :lovin:
Man ADV kicks all kinds of ass. At another panel they showed a trailer of King of Bandit Jing Seventh Heaven and then they asked who is a fan of Jing. My hand shot up in the air really fast because I love the manga. Anyway just because I was the first to raise his hand they gave me the first volume of King of Bandit Jing Seventh Heaven FOR FREE! Hell they were giving out free DVDs all over the place. ADV RULES! :rock:
Okay so I finally rested up enough so Iām gonna talk more about the DMC4 / DMC Anime panel at the NY Anime and Manga Con. I also attended another show where ADV spoke a bit more about the anime so below is going to be a compilation of both things.
Nothing really new about DMC4 that we donāt know about already. There was a scene which I canāt recall is brand new or was in some previous trailer I forgot about, but it featured Dante fighting a lady who was half plant (bottom half, like a mermaid - if you play Castlevania on the DS well, like those half plant ladies) and she could float in the air. In one scene she swallowed Dante whole with her gigantic snake like tale and he forced the snake mouth open and jumped out. Then he told the plant lady something like a fight now and then is good to help pass the time. This really is going by memory so bear in mind that I saw a lot at the anime con but this is the best I can do to remember what I saw at the moment.
During the ADV panel they showed a trailer that they created for the DMC anime. All that was shown in the background was fire and a few words of dialog popped up here and there. The dialog spoken took place between a female telephone operator and a scary sounding demon. The dialog went something like this, just remember this is all going by memory -
phone rings
OPERATOR: (Picks up a phone) Hello youāve reached Devil May Cry.
DEMON: ā¦DANTE!!!
OPERATOR: Iām sorry but Dante is not here at the moment. Would you like to leave a message?
DEMON: ā¦WHEREāS DANTE???
OPERATOR: Well sir I believe he is right behind you at the moment. Have a nice day.
DEMON: ā¦HUH?
several gunshots heard in the background
Then the rest of the trailer showed footage from the anime and stuff.
They showed two IGN.com specials on the making of DMC4 and the DMC Anime. During the event they mentioned that the DMC anime will contain bonus footage from IGN.com so I can only assume that it will include these two specials, or at the very least the one that talked about the DMC Anime.
In the special Kobayashi spoke about the anime (he is a supervisor on the show) and how it took Capcom a very long time for them to find the vehicle for a Dante anime, 3 long years. There were several ideas tossed around like basing an anime off of a video game or having an anime with a unique story. The also spoke about how Devil May Cry is a very western franchise (American letās say) and how exactly they can turn it into an anime since anime is eastern based (Japanese letās say). Once everything came together and they found the right studio, the right pitch and the right timeline to use, between 1 and 4 everything was a go. Pretty much from the beginning everyone agreed that Dante had to look cool all of the time no matter what. 
I asked them about whether or not Trish and Lady were going to have the same voice actors from DMC4 since they were using Danteās DMC3 / 4 voice in the dub. The Capcom rep told me āWe are not able to confirm that at this time.ā Then later himself and the IGN and ADV reps spoke quietly amongst themselves and the ADV said that they didnāt get Trish and Ladyās voice actors but they found people that sounded very similar. It was more important for them to get Danteās voice. In short, umā¦ either the ADV guy is telling the truth or they are keeping it a secret that Trish and Lady will retain the same voicesā¦ this was pretty bizarreā¦ Iām leaning towards a noā¦ Well they donāt appear in the anime until episode 5 and that wonāt be out until volume 2 comes out soā¦ 
ADV spoke about how difficult it was to get the DMC anime license. Basically EVERY ANIME STUDIO in America wanted it and they had to fight really hard for it. As an aside ADV did share the booth space at the show with Capcom which was half of Capcom games and half of ADVās stuff for sale, they said they would like to return to the NY Anime and Manga con in NY next year and use the same spaceā¦ Hmmmā¦ did they just mean themselves or are they coming back with Capcom or something? Eh Manga still has the SF anime rights, maybe the new Resident Evil CGI flick dropping in Japan? Or just ADV themselves coming back and I am reading way too much into things? Ah well I can only dreamā¦ Ha ha if you know me you know I want Capcom back in NY every freaking yearā¦ 
They spoke about how they worked really well with Capcom and they are looking at the DMC anime to be a gateway. Meaning a lot of people who only play video games and donāt watch a lot of anime may get into this show, and who knows maybe start checking out more anime. Or vice versa, as people who only watch anime may start looking at video games. Capcom is on the same page with ADV on this one.
Finally during the ADV panel where they showed A LOT of anime trailers for upcoming stuff, someone asked them what they were most excited about. The ADV rep said the Devil May Cry Anime! Meaning, this wasnāt DMC4 / DMC Anime panel hype, they said it at their very own seperate ADV event so you know itās real and not some Panel BS!!! They dubbed DMC as the most kick ass anime they have coming and the biggest release for the start of 2008! ADV doesnāt even do a lot of extras nowadays because they are really time consuming and itās time that they can spend bringing out more anime (and they realize that most anime viewers donāt really buy the DVDs for the extras anyway) but the DMC anime dics are going to be LOADED with extras because itās a freaking HUGE RELEASE! DANTE WILL NOT BE DENIED! :rock:

Although Virgil isnāt in the game, heās still a very important character from what weāve seen. Since Dante and Nero were carrying around the Yamato, i guess itās safe to assume theyāll be able to use it.
- Red orbs are converted to āProud soulsā after each mission. Theyāre the new form of currency.
- The starting difficulties are Human (Normal with tutorial) and Devil Hunter (Hard). More will be unlocked.
- You can Replay stages.
- Also, there is a separate art-book when you pre-order.
