I think he’s hilarious. His inflections have me cracking up because he sounds like a valley girl sometimes when he’s making a joke.
I do agree though at times he should be a bit more serious on the mic when it comes to certain matches, just out of respect to the players. I can’t imagine chick hearn making dick jokes while Magic was at the freethrow lol God bless the internet in that regard.
You KNOW he took a shot at KO Police on commentary cause she turned him down.
He can come off professional when his words have nothing to do with sex, so if they put the hammer down then he could still be a good personality i bet.
Zhi is very well spoken in multiple languages, has alot of knowledge about the games and different communities. He can bridge asian and western communities. He can commentate very professionally when the need arises. overall he has the qualities of an excellent commentator. Unfortunately he sometimes goes too far with mainly perverted or borderline creepy jokes. I don’t mind that tbh but alot of people do. Overall i think he’s an amazing commentator and joking around is fine but he needs to tone down a bit on the graphic jokes.
Hentai Kamen. It’s based on an old manga. It’s funny, but hella uncomfortable to watch. I could only make it like 30 minutes in, and it’s like 2:20 long.
i thought he was gay too but after listening to him more i see he just looks/dresses/sounds that way.
one of his weird analogies was about popping zits in front of a mirror and having that shit splash onto it. i laughed my ass off to be honest but yeah, it was probably going to far.
the most annoying thing to me is how he accentuates his “sh” sounds. it makes me want to smash my head through a window and then jump out of it.
I used to dislike him at first but, really it comes down to who is partnered with him and the chemistry between the two
What I DO like about him is that he doesn’t make assumptions for players based on how well known they are, like Skisonic. Ski always dickrides the well known people saying shit like “oh that must have just been a mistake, Justin would never get hit by that” and “Wow this guy I’ve never seen before probably just got lucky and threw out stuff that happened to hit the opponent”
I usually don’t care to listen to what people say on the mic to begin with. For me James Chen is still the worst. His jokes for 5 year olds and his regular word misplacement is just hard to listen to. I’m sure he’s a great person to talk to in real life, but I just can’t agree with the way he is on the mic. I know a lot of people don’t like Skisonic either, but I still feel he at least has a better grasp of the games he’s talking about than James.
I’ve heard some of this Zhi guy. Not enough to hear him talking about girls, but it wasn’t terrible for me. The stream monsters are always talking about the girls on the stream any ways so I guess it’s whatever until he gets in trouble.
Zhi’s greatest strength and weakness is that he always manages to say something awkward that people will either like or hate. Just watch some of his Madcatz stuff.
Personally, I like Zhi’s commentary, and it’s easy to see why they put him on the mic. He knows his stuff, and he knows multiple languages, which is a big bonus.
Personally, I find Zhi hilarious and informative but I can see why he would rub some people the wrong way. He’s good at commentary in that he always has something interesting to say about the match at hand and leaves very little dead air. It’s not easy commentating, just try it for a match you find on YouTube :P.
He has some pretty deep knowledge of SF and he’s a pretty quick guy with all the hilarious puns he rattles off during a live match. But he can say some offensive stuff which I’m pretty sure he intentionally does for the shock value. He’s like a Shock Jock, but for SF commentary.
Gotta agree though, nothing beats commentary from UltraDavid and James Chen.
