So including shipping, at least to 98056 area code (Renton) the set of sanwas is 45 bucks from ponyboy. Still, you can get greengoblins for under 30 bucks shipped if you have a hookup or patience looking on ebay (I got mine for 26).
Here’s a hint to save money when looking for an Agetec on ebay: The agetec is only as expensive as it is now because it’s the only decent mass-produced stick for the DC, which lots of people (imo wrongly) consider the best system ever for fighters. Yet, there are often Goblins modded for PSX on ebay, and they go for cheap cus the only reason they’re desireable in the first place is cus they support DC. So get the cheap, shittily modded Goblin like I did, and then convert it back with a hacked DC pad, and swap in some sanwas and you have a badass stick for under 80 bucks. IMO it’s better than HRAPs, unless you abosolutely REQUIRE a huge base for your stick. I don’t, I like the mid-size of it. I do need to find some weights to hot-glue inside of it so it’s a little less light, though.
do any of you guys make decent boxes? I mean, if I just give Airthrow a couple of PCB’s for free, and someone else makes the casing, we could have 2 more decent DC sticks for use at Julien’s for less than $50 a piece.
Jamie makes boxes, but last I talked to him he was trying to get out of stick making, and he wanted $40 each box.

If you’d like, I have no objections. Keep in mind that some places won’t ship to addresses other than ones registered to your paypal or credit card. Also, know that ever since season one ended, my attendance has been somewhat sporadic. So unless you attend Julien’s (which is a lot closer to my home), we might not meet up regularly. I’ve PMed you the address. Do I need to sign for anything in person? Because I’m seldom home during the day.
I understand not trusting packages being left in front of your door if you live in an apartment. But what’s with the privacy thing? Do you owe your roommate money? Will he take ‘other’ forms of payment if he finds out that you’ve been spending money without permission?
Because I don’t have an adequate drill to remove the mounting plate from his sanwa, he will have to wait until I can either borrow a real drill (my dremel is not strong enough) or buy one to get his…so I don’t want him to know I ordered new parts without fixing his stick up yet.

I was reading a while ago on the tech forum that torque is the most essential part in removing that bitch ass mounting plate. The guy said use a regular size Phillips head, and make sure you dig in with as much torque as possible on the first turn. Makes sense because the first screws i removed I did with brute force and broke that epoxy seal with out problems.
You can remove the epoxy seal using nail polish remover, it’s just that it’s too late on this stick cus I already stripped the heads. Next time I will try to torque it more. On the set I am ordering today I asked Ponyboy to remove the mounting plate for me so I don’t even have to deal with it.
How’s that supposed to help those of us that don’t play dress up. We don’t have nail polish remover lying around to be used for such a purpose.
I’m gonna see if I can get those spare PCBs for you this weekend. Last two times I went to my friend’s place, I went with the intent to steal those Enforcers back. However, I forgot to take them on the way out on both occasions. The ole’ noggin ain’t what it used to be. I should tie a string on my finger, or just put them in my car when I first arrive.
If it’s alright, I’ll just give you the Enforcers intact, rather than opening the sticks up and removing the PCBs. I don’t want to risk damaging anything, since I know nothing about joysticks. Despite having built numerous personal PC’s, I’ve never once wired my own arcade sticks.
Unrelated to the above, I just now played through arcade mode on the Dreamcast version of ST. I think this is the first time I’ve played through arcade mode on a stick. It’s amazing what you can do if you play the game for more than 2 matches at a time–I can sort of hit the axis now. You guys just whoop on me too much during the gaming sessions, so I never really get into a comfort zone to learn. Perhaps I should actually hit 1P mode periodically. But then, it’s practice, and I’m the Iverson of the ST scene.

These are like the T5 sticks, but made of good quality. Very impressed. Too bad they still suck.
