How would this work? Would we sit players down, and then randomly generate for each player, every match? Or should we randomly generate 2 option for every player before the tournament? I’m leaning towards the latter, since it would be faster, and you’d be able to learn your characters through the course of the tournament rather than getting something new every game.
So, who’s in? I propose that every player gets 2 characters assigned randomly at the beginning of the tournament. If Sobat generates a mirror match for you, you have the option to “spin again”. But I’m sure if it came up with 2 Boxers/Sagats/Claws/Dhalsims, you’d take it regardless. Then, round robin? If the prospect of having to play Blanka/Cammy for as many matches as there are opponents seems too painful, perhaps we could go with a quicker format. What do potential attendees think?

While I think a random character tournament can be fun, I think a secondary tournament is a better idea (basically a tourney where we only use the second character we’re learning). Because honestly, if I get Blanka, Dhalsim, Zangief, Honda, or T Hawk in the random tourney I’m throwing all my matches. They’re gross.

I think the random characters would be best in a team tournament, because then you’d have motivation to win if you got stuck with a character you hate.

I don’t really know, I plan on eventually improving the generator to show who is favored in the matchup, but that’s going to be more work than I’m willing to do right now

You should link top play match videos (like, youtube links) or post Turtoials, like “ST Basics Vol.1” or some shit, I know Green Tea made a Fei-Long combo/tutorial it’s still on CV if I remember correctly. Made me want to play fei-long till I remembered how bad he was.
Fei-Long = Yang of ST. Both play the exact same and the potential to be amazing characters, but they lose to the stupidest shit.
Eventially you can accept match/tournament video submissions (including our own), match results…etc…
Iunno, just trying to provide SOMETHING I think would make the site better.
