Hey! I figured I’d make a new thread now that EVO has hype running high (and because the other eugene thread was about smash brothers(?)). We’re a group of 5+ SSF4 fighters in the Eugene/Springfield area who are looking for new blood for Casuals and to participate in local tournaments!
We’ve been doing a lot of talking with some local bars about letting us run tournaments there (and hopefully getting drink specials!) and need more fighters who are dedicated to attending, and winning some cash prizes!
We’re looking for fighters of all skill levels, and have some pretty good success stories with training up new fighters, so don’t be afraid to reply even if you’re still spending the majority of every match floating back down from random fierce SRKs! We get together a couple times a week for casual play usually when we’ve got time, but this weekend we’re drinking and watching EVO!

I’m not sure which venue might actually work out, we’ve talked to owners/managers of a bunch of places both downtown and around (even a few in springfield) and the word is the same nearly every time, if we can get a group together that’s dedicated and bring them some attendance numbers they like, they’re into it. We were thinking a place that hosts a lot of events like the Downtown Lounge or something, but I wouldn’t care if it’s at a different place every time as long as we can get lots of fighters to show up (and hopefully get lots of cheap drinks while we’re at it).
We’ve not been doing fight nights on a firm schedule lately (were running them weekly for a while), but if we can get new fighters interested I’m into hosting for casuals again, for sure.
I’ll add you on PSN for some matches in the mean time, and see about setting up another casuals evening here soon.
Okay, so we’ve got a venue, as of today, the Mowhawk Tavern in Springfield. It’s freshly remodeled, has great setups and plenty of room and dollar PBRs. First night is looking like Monday the 26th. Stay tuned for more info as it develops! GET HYPE!
