We Need More SFIV Players in Seattle

Are they charging flat rates? If so, I didn’t know that. I remember reading Gooteck’s blog awhile back, and him mentioning donations. From what I remember, he said any amount was fine, and some of the top players would gladly give advice if you wanted any.

Flat rate, donation, whatever.

No one is forcing anyone to pay anything.

Quite true. If you are getting a lot of requests for people to play you, you obviously can’t take them all. Sooner or later, I can see it happening like this

  • “Hey, I can I play you first to twenty and you tell me how to get better?”
  • “Sorry man, I’m heading out to go bowling tonight and or maybe just chill at home.”
  • “I’ll pay you.”
  • “Hand me my stick.”

Working with a good student who learns fast is also rewarding, where as working with a student who wants YOU to make them better or just doesn’t get it can be frustrating. Should top players have to help every person who asks who can’t figure out a match up. No. Should weaker players miss out on the opportunity to learn from top players because they aren’t at the right level. No again. Paying for lessons is an alternative that makes it worth a top players time to improve some random persons game, and gives weaker players that opportunity. I guess it also depends on how much you are charging.

If you are flat out refusing to play and give advice without money, then I can see that being taken way to far and it becoming selfish. But if people are willing to pay for time that you would have otherwise used to enjoy yourself, you aren’t obligated to give that up for free for their benefit.

How you gonna rap when you skinny?
50 ain’t skinny

YouTube is a wonderful thing.

If your watching my account you better be paying.

Street Fighter IV: Fittin’ to Tax a Nigga.

And to think I agreed with everything on this tier list except S Class Gouken and D Class Guile. Guile should be C class he ain’t THAT bad.

Yeah good catch on that one…I reread and understand it better now.

And with that list…seems pretty legit. I honestly cant see Guile being worse than Fei or Rose. Im suprised Zangief is lower than Gouken.

Ninja Edit: Looking for marathon session of SF4 tonight. Especially if you’re better than me!

Wow, just booted up HDR again on the old Xbox. SFII son. Now thats damage.

Edit: For that Tier list, I would say Fuerte is higher, but that is just from observation. Couldn’t really say for sure.

Ghrrk I might have to get @ u after lost tonight

That would be sick. Unfortunately I probably wont be hoppin on till 11…fuck friends, I need that bison practiceee

ROFL i literally just lol’d right now. that video is so funny!

Nah. He’s got a lot of potential but to play Fuerte you have to read your opponent and be good at predicting how they’ll react, thus in a tier-theory-fighter kinda of way, Fuerte is not good. He takes some of the worst damage in the game, so if you guess wrong… X_X

He so is. Fei has a lot of speed to slightly compensate his lack of damage & at least a little mixup potential compared to gweelee, Rose has quite a few beefy normals; Guile just sucks.

You don’t ever wanna see my Guile.

Obviously.

Hahaha, I bet you would run a train on me with Guile but that doesn’t make him worthy of being in a higher tier >_>

Okay so maybe he’s not quite his-own-tier bad but he sure is bottom of the barrel bad.

So I’m not hearing people talk about it much, but who’s showing for the $500 SF4 tournament at Gameworks in 2 weeks? There is some serious hype missing here. People need to get pumped for this!

Guile’s bad…but not lowest in my opinion…I think he should be thrown in with a couple others at least…not a tier of his own. I’d say Guile, Fei Long, and Dan are the worst. Not to say that they aren’t competitive…ya know, just take a bit of work to pull to win with thats all.

Thats what I think is being conveyed through this list…the fact that the lowest tiers take the most work to win at high levels with. For instance…Seth and Sagat don’t take ANY work to beat someone with. The fact that Seth has that little life was just a “compensation” for how many tools he has…If he had “boss life” or let alone regular life, he’d be in a tier of his own.

EDIT: Why Brent…It’s gameworks.

Honestly, I think Claw is probably the worst. Wall dive is almost never safe unless you go for the grab every time, since the slash can always be focus attacked and punished (as a universal option, there’s a lot of character specific counters). Super is always telegraphed. Anti air is pretty bad. Low stamina, and he absolutely dies in the corner. EX wall dive is nice, but has no priority whatsoever. Ultra sucks.

He has good pokes, but little damage can be gained from them. EX drill is a nifty way of punishing fireballs, but doesn’t do much damage. He does have a nifty combo in df. RH, ex wall dive, grab, but that’s pretty situational. Oh, and second best kara throw. That’s probably really helpful considering his pokes.

Yeah, not seeing all that much for Vega.

Which really sucks, since he’s the only arcade character I play (seriously).

He’s not worst, he’s about mid. A lot of what your saying isn’t really valid either. No one in the states HAS a good Vega except maybe Bobino…no one’s PLAYED a good Vega therefore he’s bad right? Just like Guile…because honestly, you don’t want to see Deezo’s Guile.

Vega is the most underrated character in this game. He has fair damage output, but more importantly, no one realizes that Vega has a very specific way to be played, it’s called discipline.

Its whatever though
