160+ games the last session we had up here, Me facing two other guys.
Sounds good my dude! It would mostly be Chun Li/Bailrag though with some assorted sprinkles of Rufus, Ken, and Sakura. I only have one stipulation to playing me online in SFIV, and that’s to play an unreasonable amount of games (I’m talkin more than 60), if you can do that, we’re good! This is Evo training season.
Paul, I’m talkin about one on one. Mono E Mono. If that’s how you spell that shit.
You said monkey E monkey, I think what you were looking for was mano y mano (hand and hand, which implies simplicity in the action), or mano a mano (literally, hand to hand, combat son!).
gg’s to Frank. Let’s do it again sometime!
So I went to a Tougeki qualifying tournament in Club Sega Shinjuku yesterday. Saw Mago, Nemo, Tokido, Joe Viper, Ojisanboi, Kanbara, Nakanishi, Moruda, among others. I BELIEVE it was for Tougeki SFIV team battle qualifiers. I arrived 50 mins late, so I’m not 100% sure if it was for team battles…the commentator wasn’t doing the best job of keeping the crowd posted. I saw a few people doing singles matches here and there, but the focus was team battles. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Some of the teams were Mago & Nemo, Joe Viper & Tokido, Ojisanboi & Kanbara, and Nakanishi & Moruda. Joe Viper/Tokido beat Mago/Nemo to advance to the finals, and ultimately lost to Nakanishi/Moruda in what looked like a huge upset.
Tokido was doing some CRAZY ass Akuma shit. Seriously, I’ve never seen Akuma being played like that before. Akuma has a loop in this game! Sorry if this is old news, as I haven’t been keeping up with the character threads. Tokido was doing that shit all day in his matches.
After the tournament, I stopped by the Hey! Arcade in Akihabara. I got fuckin’ owned by a female Rufus player, who had 20,000 BP. I challenged her twice, and could only win one round in each match. Gross. Is it a bad thing that I kinda got turned on after I lost? She was pretty cute… :hitit:
Oh and Mandel, I’m willing to have a SFIV fighting session with ya! Let’s shoot for 100+ games. Due to time difference, it’ll have to be sometime this upcoming weekend.
Damn that sounds dope dude!
Akuma is really fun
My friend there is nothing wrong with being turned on by cute girl gamers. NOTHING! Wow I knew Akuma had a loop but I didn’t really think it was worth it. Off of two hit standing rh? I wonder how much bp Tokido has, or if he even bothers using a card, cause I swear I’ve never seen any videos of him playing. Nakanishi uses Ryu doesn’t he? Who does Moruda use? But thank you for the update my dude! And yes 100+ games of SFIV, consider it done!
663 games over here, me against Topanga, and Nigga Joo Joo…that session was fucking RAW…I don’t know how I did it.
The entire session took 16 hours, it was a battle of endurance, i did not eat or shit at all during the session. Thats how RAW I am.
EDIT: I won all 667 games (4 accounted for because I had 2 double perfects (each perfect grants 1 more win))
daaamn i think i went for 60ish once but im lookin to break that shit. Ill hop on tonight, if anyone else is lookin for fights lets rumble.
Holy crap how long does that take? Any more than 20 consecutive matches and I have to take a break to prevent myself from hating the game.
Yeah the loop was off the double kick standing rh.
I believe Tokido had 16,000 BP or so; his winning percentage was in the 80-87% range from what I remember. He didn’t have too many matches recorded on his IC card…maybe about 700 or so? Whereas Mago has like 7000+ matches on his. I don’t think Joe Viper uses a card at all, since he was selecting Viper without a card.
Yeah, Nakanishi uses Ryu. Moruda uses Zangief.
im bored need some people to play with on xbl hit me up
Got home and saw my shiny new TE stick waiting for me on the doorstep. This thing is freakin’ sexy.
I just got my TE stick last Thursday. It’s nice to have a stick that doesn’t slide off my lap anymore. My SC4 Hori stick was a good soldier while I was waiting on this one though. It got me to 2500 BP.
So, is this Gootecks guy actually trying to make money off the SFIV craze? That seems hella low budget to me, but I commend his enthusiasm.
The stuff like paying 30 bucks to play Justin Wong over xbox live to have him “critique your game” cracks me up.
Everyone’s trying to hustle with this game.
Gotta respect the hustle. Anything to put SF back in true competitive gaming. Of course, I wouldn’t pay Justin 30 bucks to have him tell me I suck. I would rather just play him and he can tell me how horrible I am for free. Just sayin’.
I think what Gootecks did with the Street Fighter Bar Fights event a couple days ago was pretty sick, IMO. It brought out a whole new set of people to the scene. It was just an exhibition of high-level play, and the audience was a lot more enthusiastic about it, seeing as how they didn’t have to play any of these bigger names. They got to see a free event, showing what it can be like at the higher level of SF if you want to start competing. I’m sure they’ve got a bunch of people wanting to hit up the AI and V94 tournaments down there now.
I don’t respect the hustle…if your trying to teach a video game, don’t make money off of it. Do it for the love of playing and respect that people are learning…why should they pay to learn?
The one question I want to ask Justin is…What do you play for? Because in reality…I’m almost positive he plays for the money.
