We Need More SFIV Players in Seattle

Unfortunately with the console release of the game we haven’t been to Narrows since then. However, we do still meet up for tournaments but it’s at Zach’s/Preppy’s place out in Kirkland =/. There’s a thread for it in this section. We’ll be having a SFIV tourney there this Friday night if you can make it out.

SFIV regional 5v5 at Evo. PRACTICE UP FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLS!

SF4BTCH ALL DAY

Ohhhh shit. Im def going to practice hard for this. Got to get noticed… I wonder if there are same character restrictions or anything? Otherwise socal team will be boxer, sagat, rufus. haha.

Where do you find good comp on SF4? HDR has all the comp lately. (more players on 4, but sf2 players are harder)

HAchiii-RoKUUU

Who wants to play?

Hope Cole is up on getting everyone together to start this. We’re taking the US crown, son. Doesn’t matter who our five will be comprised of, Northwest is taking it. We’ve got a stable of monstars. Get hype!

I was just down at GameWorks, and played quite a bit against a few good peeps. Vasquez was there, and told me the NorthWest forums are where it’s at for anyone near Seattle.

It was my first time playing on an arcade set-up, so it was pretty sweet. Now if anyone wants to play on live, hit me up, but I’ve got a regular controller.

I should make a trip to gameworks now that I’m actually decent at this game…

My girlfriend just spent 2 hours in training and completed all of the Abel trial mode on normal and most of them on hard. She’s a pretty legit Abel now. That c. HP xx any of his moves is pretty beast LOL

Can you spd boxer out of his rush punches like in ST?

You go throw him out of TAP after he turns around, if he is in your face.

I am still kinda new to the Seattle area and would love to find some people to practice with. Any older folks (late 20’s, early 30’s) in the area playing Street Fighter?

I went down to Game Works last Friday during the day to play a few matches in the arcade for the first time. The main thing I noticed was some unspoken agreement between players to be complete assholes to each other. I met a couple nice people but the standard seemed to be to not talk to anyone outside you clique and to always ignore your opponent, even when he says “nice game man, thanks for playing me”.

Do you need to check your social skills at the door when you walk into an arcade these days? The experience was about enough to turn me off the arcade scene for good but I’d love to find some decent people to play with.

Fuckin’ negged.

You went to the arcade for the FIRST time yesterday and expected what, high fives? Bro hugs? A BJ? Some of those guys you mentioned in the “cliques” are probably there at least every other day, of course they’re not going to be immediately best friends with some random.

The fact that you think that people there were “complete assholes” to you just because they didn’t talk to you enough reeks of a bad case of bitchassness. I shudder to think how you would have taken it if any shit-talking had occurred.

The very few times I’ve gone and played SFIV at gameworks I didn’t know anyone there and nobody really talked to me. When I eventually nut up and go to Cole’s/Preppy’s I won’t know anybody and nobody will (likely) talk to me. THIS IS HOW IT IS WHEN YOU ARE JUST SOME NEW RANDOM. EMBRACE IT.

the hate

Nice rage, I think my post was less about me than you would have liked it to be. These were my observations bud. I think the only time I was referencing myself in there with respect to peoples attitudes towards me was when I said “I met a couple of nice people”. The bulk of my statement was descriptions of how I saw people treating each other. I don’t know how often all these people come down there but it seemed strange that so many people could be huddled around 2 machines for so long and hardly say a word to each other. Or even ignore someone that tells them “nice game”.

Anyway, I’m not going to the arcade to make friends. I’d just like to meet some people to play some matches and share advice with.

I’m going to keep trying to go down there once a month for the play experience. I’ll be the 6’6" dude playing Honda that says “good game man” when he looses to you.

At gameworks I met one outgoing person (josh) and cole talked to me too a little. One guy that completely ignored me and the rest were just normal? not outgoing

at zach’s a lot of people were really engaging the first time I met them, much better than an arcade

Whereabouts in Seattle are you at? I’m in the LQA and try to play online as often as I can…although RE5 has bit pretty hard. Game is bomb.

I live in Everett. I’m going to Florida for work next week so I will probably not be on much for a week or so but add me on XBL. That reminds me, I should check if there are any machines in FL.
