We Need More SFIV Players in Seattle

Links to frame data threads added to the first post. Everyone that has one in the SFIV section has been linked. Placeholders for everyone else. As I wouldn’t presume to know who will become playable in the future, even Seth and Gouken are there for the time being.

Ross could you please post the El Fuerte frame data from the guide or maybe take a scan or pic of the pages? I know people are bugging you left and right but it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I’ll scan it at work tomorrow. And no worries, have to wait for some help from a friend to translate the stuff for Julian.

Random note that may not have been posted before… (Im pretty sure Im reading this right.)

51% and above you take 100% damage
31% -50% you take 95% damage
16% - 30% you take 90% damage
15% and below you take 75% damage!

The only thing I don’t quite know is whether as your life is going down damage is calculated for each hit in a series of hits or only once per combo. If its once per combo that would mean that if you were playing and you were say at 40% health and you had full ultra (hella SAing of fireballs or something) and your opponent had 51% health a combo into ultra would do devestating damage… like I imagine certain combos to ultra would almost kill from 51% health… now if it calculates the totals for each move than it wouldn’t matter as much, but its something to think about.

Edit: more random cause I think colors are cool
Julian’s (airthrow) favorite brown bison makes the cut! except he looks a little more gold toned now.
My favorite Super Turbo start button bison (the black one) also makes the cut, though his skin looks really gray making him look sort of undead. Ryu has a dope purple color! Ken has 3s secret color! Sagat can be ST bumblebee sagat (sorry forgot the button)! All of Abel’s colors are dope, too bad everyone seems to use either the dark blue or the green. He has two different whites (black shorts, white shorts) and a really cool black dogi one. Sadly white is probably C.vipers best color, unless the yellow one looks less super exposed in game.

I can translate stuff if you need it.

The damage reduction is almost certainly per-hit. Unless I’m wrong, of course.

I have a friend here in portland that says he’s really good at reading japanese, so Im probably going to get him to at least translate a little. Since slowly most of the frame data is going up, I want him to translate some of the “tips” for each character that way incase there are important things that were found out about the systems for each character that may not have made it over here yet.

Regarding colors, I’m pretty sure those are only available with cards.
Kinda nasty but oh well.

yeah, the button presses I meant where for when its on home. Unless there is some super secret dipswitch codes.

Grant random question about Japanese, I was watching this movie called Suicide Club, and this one detective says “Jyu-hakko” for the number 18, is hakko Osaka-ben for the number 8, or is he just trying to sound tough or something?

So the SF4 sticks are probably gonna suck despite the hype. MarkMan is saying he’s in Hong Kong going over the last of it and I feel T5 stick shenanigans all over again.

Suicide Club is Suicide Circle right? That movie is fucking bizarre lol.

Yeah same thing.

See you tommorow, Trace?

Hopefully not because I have a date but if it starts going poorly I will abandon her and head straight for Narrows:rofl:

stops watching Sagat vids

I hope she’s the one.

In Japanese, there is a system of ‘counting suffixes’. So he is saying “eighteen of something,” rather than just the number 18. The suffixes can be different depending on what you are counting, although ‘ko’ is a not-so-specific one.

That would suck if they sucked…

It is not a Tekken 5 stick, I’ll guarantee that.

The regular stick > T5 stick, IMO.

I’ll let the sticks speak for themselves.

Grant, I think linguists refer to it as measure words. I could be mistaken, but every time I’ve studied a language, texts usually employ this term. Blake, they’re not all that common in English, but used heavily in every far eastern language.

Fair enough. I hear them called ‘counters,’ usually.

But that’s good to know.

in there are two big jpegs. Sorry for the blurryness in some parts… I didn’t want to ruin my book just to get the scans…

Ummm… l havent played the game yet… But heard alot of greatness on this game from Kenny. As I can see my nig Mandel using Chun-Li for the Nation. I need to play this game asap. Hows everyone doin? Get at the Nation!

Cool, thanks alot!

I hope it’s no big deal if I post these in the El Fuerte thread.
