We need more Hip-Hop heads in Seattle

I’m actually liking this thread. I’ll start with albums I love, some of which is collectively referred to as “classic”, others that aren’t so embraced (or not as much as they should be imo).

Eric B and Rakim-Paid In Full (duh)
Camp Lo-Uptown Saturday Night (fuckin love this album)
ATCQ-Midnight Marauders (well basically anything by ATCQ but MM is my favorite by far, followed by Low End Theory)
Dr.Dre-Chronic (duh)
Snoop Dogg-Doggystyle (duh)
Nas-Illmatic (duh)
Jay Z-Reasonable Doubt (duh?)
2Pac-All Eyez On Me (duh)
Bone Thugs N Harmony-East 1999 Eternal (duh)
Busta Rhymes-Extinction Level Event
Cypress Hill-Black Sunday
Brotha Lynch-Season of the Siccness
Ice Cube-Amerikkas Most Wanted
Mobb Deep-Hell On Earth
Pharcyde-Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde
Digable Planets-Rebirth of Slick
The Roots-Illadelph Halflife
EPMD-Strictly Business (actually anything by EPMD, they’re the best hip hop duo of all time not Outkast!!! =D)
LL Cool J-Mama Said Knock You Out (my mom actually bought this album for me for my 10th birthday and I played the shit out of it)

Just to name a few. Lately I’ve been down with some LA underground shit like High Saht by Sahtyre and Fun With Dumb by Dumbfoundead.

Was so gonna come in and say Camp Lo Uptown Saturday Night obviously mandelo knows whats up tho.

Fugees The Score also timeless, Hieroglyphics Full Circle sick and not talked about enough, obviously the chronic and 2001 need to be included, The blueprint 1, Dels No Need for Alarm is pretty epic to this day, missing alot but HIP HOP YO

Mackinzie you’re outstandingly terrible

Anybody like Andre Nickatina?

I am from Chicago and tend to hate all hiphop from it, but you guys should check out Typical Cats:

GTFO with this gay shit honestly. I hate it when people who don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about try to clown when they’re fucking wrong.

CAAAMPP LOOOO

And yet, for me, it’s not white enough. Go figure.

Some of my favorite underground or semi-underground albums:

Hieroglyphics - 3rd Eye Vision:
Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus:
Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologyst:
Edan - Beauty and the Beat:
Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein:
El-P - Fantastic Damage:

That’s enough for now

^^^ thanks. the only one i knew of was Hiero, but almost all of those were pretty sick. And I’m SUPER picky with hip hop. ++

I will continue to hype Doomtree

Thought I’d post up a couple fo the albums that I’ve really been feeling lately (w/ example tracks):

De La Soul - Are You In?

Tanya Morgan - Brookylnati

Camp Lo - Another Heist

Is that a new Camp Lo album?! I thought they broke up or retired hella long ago I hadn’t heard anything new from them for hella. Good shit.

Thread needs more Royce.

Also for all the people that like freestyle/written battles or are familiar with that scene, peep out Grindtime’s youtube page. They’ve been uploading battles from Battle of the Bay 5 and so far everything they’ve uploaded from that event has been SIIIIICK. Most recently they uploaded Reverse Live vs Eurgh (some of you will remember him from WRC 07) and Eurgh kills it. Saurus vs Illmaculate will be going up pretty soon as well and that one should be crazy as well.

They update pretty regularly as well with battles.

i saw andre nickatina at chop suey or some shit because my friend had an extra ticket. im not really a fan and the only song of his i ever liked was scottie 15

anybody see the 5 star chick remix video? OoOoOOoooOooOOoh

or the better believe it video with webbie, boosie and jeezy? bet wont even play the whole video haha because it doesnt condone some of the things portrayed in it

AIYO AIYO

Yo this dude know I got that SHOTTY SKILL, so dont come with SHODDY SKILLS cause even your HOTTY FEELS that your wigs gon get PROB’LY PEELED and the news gon’ say “with one shot, HE KILLED!”

BRRRAAAAPPPPP BRRRRAAAAPPPPPPPP ARF ARF ARF tshirt poppin

LIIIIII-STEN!

There’s a hella dope scene in seattle man. I’m a bboy so as far as that goes you have some dope crew’s in seattle. Massive Monkee’s, Them Team, Art of movement. I’m in bham tho hah

Nickatina is tight.

The Saurus vs. Illmaculate was pretty sick, although I feel like you would have to know a lot of their history to really get what they (or at least Illmac) was talking about. I was hella impressed with Eurgh. Dumb vs. PH was good except for PH slipping. All in all there were a lot of dope battles. I hope Conceited vs. Okwerdz goes down, that has great potential.

I’ve always liked you, homie. I heard you spit, too. I should have asked for a casual battle at NWM.

Camp Lo. Uptown Saturday Night. That album was so fucking WACK. But it was so DOPE at the same time! Like, niggas weren’t even RHYMING HALF THE TIME. I loved the hell out of it.

I still consider Royce to be one of the illest lyricists alive right now. I don’t know much about what he was dropping on Slaughterhouse, but dude is pretty much always sick.

CLII is dope? I was never that big a fan of Rae, but I guess with the right production, even old men can say some hot shit.

Jee Money’s pretty tight too. His delivery sounds kinda weird but he’s got some heat.

“How the fuck you have lazy work habits?! YOU’RE SPANISH!!” -Dumbfoundead

Love that line.
