Puyallup had those “Golden Days” too. Maybe not as epic as Seattles, for obvious reasons. But I feel the same way about the old puyallup scene as you guys do from the Seattle Scene at it’s prime.
Competative gaming and fighting games is a HUGE part of my life. It’s how I met Kenny and Ajay, and about 98% of the friends I have today. All because of the puyallup gaming scene. Now…as much as me and Kenny try, the 253 scene is joke now. There are few originals left because they left for whatever reason, as have I left the scene for months at a time for several reasons. But I kept coming back trying to rebuild it and make it better. But outside of Kenny and a few others, the same passion and ambition just isn’t there any more. And it sucks, but, we make the best of it.
Plus, scenes die all over the place due to dedication/money/random factors in life/growing up in general. So yeah, I agree with you Mickey, we all hold those memories dear to us. I know I do.
But yeah, let’s not turn this into what I did to the 3S thread (my apologies on that btw, though I don’t feel I was too out of line on it, it wasn’t the time or the place to mention it, so again, my apologies)
Any ways. On to CvS2. I like C-Ken/Sagat/Blanka. It makes me happy. RC Funky Kick all day.
I recently gave up A-Groove cause I didn’t feel comfy playing it anymore (A-Vega/Sak/Blanka) but I still play my fun A-Groove team every now and again (Benimaru/Sim/Boxer). And as a some what9now) low tier enthusiast. Finding low tier teams that can win in CvS2 is hard. =(
Why not? I’d go Blanka finish over Sagat finish, just because I’m more confident with Blanka. Picking character order has less to do with the character and more to do with how you play, correct? normally you’ve used up your bar by the end of the second match, if things get heated. Though I disagree about the team being stacked. C-Ken just loses to too many characters, IMO. C-Guile/Sagat R2/Blanka (sagat is my weakest character on the current stick. when I replace the parts, buffers should be a lot easier) all day.
And Nuki’s N-Akuma/Chun/whatever was BUFF. I don’t think I ever saw the last character, as he usually mopped up before then. I guess I’ve just seen the matches where he wins
Yeah, I’ve been seeing him, too. I guess I just don’t like seeing Ken take a ton of pokes before managing to get a super off (which I always see). It’s just that he doesn’t mop up unless he’s played masterfully. One of those characters you just have to play really well…
K-Ken is burly, though. Just defend adds a lot to his game.
Nuki uses N-Akuma/Chun/Sagat btw.
As for C-Ken. He does have a lot of bad match ups(VEGA! :annoy:) but I feel the most comfortable with him. He has a lot of dominate RCing moves. But I couldn’t find anyone outside of Vega I felt comfortable with. And I don’t feel comfortable playing Vega outside of A-Groove now for some random reason.

Ok, this is really gross. You guys would start talkin about cvs2 when i leave. Just know that you can practice all you want, and when i come back after 9 months of not playing, you are still gonna lose.

Trying to get a mid tier fun A-Groove team going. Well, I have one, I.E. A-Sim/Beni/Boxer. But I’d like to win everynow and again. lol.
Pretty much all I got right now is Iori/XXX/Sakura R2
I know Sakura isn’t exactly mid/bottom tier, but, she’s the only character I’m relativly good with on A.
But I DO want to swap her out with someone once I get more solid with another character(s)
XXX = the possibilities of Rolento, Rock, Hibiki, Kyo, Chun-Li, Ken, Zangief, Todo
I kinda want to run N-Groove too. like…I have a team for pretty much everygroove, but I only use C/A. I’d like to go C/N but…mergle…N-Groove is frustrating so it makes me want to stay C/A.
But I know my N-Groove team would be Iori/Nakaruru/Sagat R2
I’ve always like Iori as a character ever since I was first introduced to him. Ask Kenny or anyone else who knows me pretty well. I’m basically yes homo for him.

P.S. I don’t know Iori or Ken’s CC’s, I KIND of know Hibiki’s. but any insight would be greatly appreciated.
