When ever we game we’d play like 9745498749874 hours of MvC2 all of us getting beasted by our friend Johnny. and I’d be like “Let’s play 3S” “Coo’” we’d get in maybe 2 rotations, I’d win them all usually and they’d be like “Gay, let’s play marvel” just to get beasted by Johnny again for a nother 75555477 hours? Lame.
So, I TRIED getting people into 3S, showing videos, borrowing books, linking FAQ’s, sitting down and playing and going through shit step by step. But, everyone I game with is still riding Marvels nuts. So. Fuck it.
I don’t know why I even bother some times.

The easiest way to alienate the people the around you is to say something like “yeah you guys fuck up the way I play.” Doesn’t exactly promote good vibes. Kenny and Ajay strike me as the types that’ll play any game. I dunno how many threads I’ve seen those two post in where they’re like “yeah I’m down for whatever.” In fact, I was impressed when Kenny was gettin at Veteru hardbody in nasty ass Melty Blood Act Gaydenza. With that said, the reason I think they’re so quick to wanna play Marvel again, is because let’s face it, 3S, is boring as shit. Also because you’re the only 3S die hard and they know how much you can’t stand to play/watch Marvel so they play for your sake. No one likes to play any game they feel forced to play. Am I right?
As for the “riding Marvel’s nuts” comment. Can you blame them? This is Seattle.
Yeah. I’m a die hard 3S fan. And I personally don’t think the game is boring. It involves a lot of mind games and in-depth strategy. But I love and play all the other games too. Even Marvel. I just hate the game. But if I don’t play I get bitched at and alienated. And that sucks especially when YOU planned the get together.
Plus it really sucks when you put all the effort and time trying to teach people a new game they seem like they enjoy it, play it for awhile then just randomly hate it get bored of it cause they get beasted? That’s stupid.
I played Marvel for 6 years before finally giving it up.
And I got beasted A LOT. But that’s not why I quit.
I quit because of the brokenness and about 48 (give or take) totally useless characters. Why bother having so many characters when only like, 6 of them are used? It doesn’t make sense.
Plus I hate how there is so much fucking drama behind the game and so much hype and so much STUPID shit happens because of marvel.
Yeah, they’ll play whatever game you throw at them, for about 2 weeks, and then they’ll find something/get beat by something really random and sink their selves right back into marvel. Or they’ll find out how to do ONE little miniscule thing with Magneto or Sentinel and practice/rant about it for DAYS when it’s usually been common knowledge for years. I’m all for learning new things about games, but you don’t need to be like “OMGZ COMBOZZZZ”
They say random bullshit stuff about insert game but then when we play Marvel even more and worse random stuff happens and they just go “hey coo’” I don’t get it.
I like variety in my gaming. And people don’t seem to get that.
ST has been out how long and Seattle is JUST NOW getting a scene for it? Just because of Airthrow, Zass and Bazookatooth (no disrespect guys, I’m a fan of ST and respect everything you guys have done for the scene).
I remember trying to push Ajay, Zach and Kenny to play ST when I first got into it and they went “Yeah cool” and then 5 seconds later go “ST is fucking stupid, lets play marvel”

I’m going to have to agree with Mandel on this one. You either win or you lose, aside from a truly broken stick there are few excuses worth mentioning.
While I think it is possible to actually make a player worse to have to fight certain things and habits, that wasn’t a good way to phrase it. People that random super and do really random stupid crap all the time really don’t do
you any good for practice. To me it just sounded like you were making excuses.
I go to lameworks every week and play 3s and practice quite a bit. I’m always scanning every video, every faq, looking for that gem of info I missed. Yet, I still get pounded when I go gameworks. I never say oh I would’ve won if or made some bullshit excuse about Justin doing random supers all the time. I just take it for what it is and try harder next time.
Also, I would have made this thread a while ago if I wasn’t positive that it would die like other 3s focused threads.
edit: oh and about the 6 characters in marvel comment, that’s 3 more characters then there are in 3s.

Corkscrew blow is easier to be more consistant with/easier to implement. Rocket Upper is solid but WAY more easy to be punished. More flashy, yes but for the sake of pressure and a tight game Corkscrew is it.

Well when I went to the Apoc school of Dudley, I was all about rocket upper. Over time I learned to appreciate corkscrew blow since it’s so versatile. Whenever I do play, I pick corkscrew blow.
