What I don’t understand is how Nick at Night can show reruns of Urkel but never show David the Gnome?

This site almost made me cry. I haven’t seen some of these shows in like 15 years.

I learned about Eskimo kissing from David the Gnome. Eureka’s Castle was awesome to with Magellan.
I wish Steven Speilburg would get back into producing Cartoons. I miss Animaniacs and Tiney toons. I turn on the TV on Saturdays mornings an am assult with shit like Sponge Bob, Fairly Odd Parents and who knows what other kind of drivel. It’s depressing. I learned shit from Animaniacs.
Kids TV nowadays is a joke. I remember being like 6 years old and getting up at 0530 hours just so I could watch MASK, Transformers G1/G2, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, GI Joe, Dungeons & Dragons and so many more excellent shows. Where the fuck did it go wrong? All these pussy ass bitch TV people need to wake up and realise this shit can’t go on much longer.
If or when I have to raise a kid, I’m putting him/her straight onto DVD’s with old kids TV shows.
I’m already lookin for Ducktails to burn to DVD for viewing awesomeness.
Yo Gabba Gabba. nuff said.
When the hell are they going to release The Angry Beavers on DVD. They don’t even have the thing out in volumes, much less a complete set (want to see the un-aired pilot and un-aired last episode).
P.S. The Angry Beavers is not quite “classic,” but it is still damned good.
Spoot.
A lot of shows that people think are awesome were totally shitty, but get the benefit of rose-colored glasses.
Batman: The Animated Series is not one of them.
Here’s an original thread.
I look back on watching old Nickelodeon fondly, but having watched some of the shows I used to enjoy on Nick more recently, I don’t really think they are much different than whats on Nick now.
Grown men talkng about childrens cartoons from the 90s…fucking magnets, how do they work?
The thought of David the Gnome makes me inexplicably happy, even though I don’t remember a single episode. So strange.
That website is classic. It has a guestbook, a hit counter, and animated gifs. The webmaster even has an AOL email address.
I need the last season of Pete and Pete. Shit, those a lot of the really good episodes (that I remember) were on that one.
yesyesyesyesyesyesyesYESYESYESYES YES!!!
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors has one of the best intro songs of any '80s cartoon. It was that, Galaxy Rangers, King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, and Silverhawk. All of them have sick guitar solos and riffs, well, except Jayce. But Jayce had such a fucking godlike intro. Anyone reading this post needs to go and youtube the intros for these 4 shows right now.
This will always be the #1 american animated show of all time.
If by #1 you mean # 2; right behind Life with Louie.
There really is no point in reminiscing. None of these shows are hard to find. I’ve got everything that has been mentioned in this thread on DVD.
And no, it’s not nostalgia. The majority of this stuff is just…better. Name a live action show on Nickelodeon right now that is half as good as Kenan and Kel. Don’t worry, I’ll wait.
site is so great. i really wisdh alot of these shows would get offical DVD’s i have every season of hey aronld on the PC,but it would be nice to own a true boxset.
this. easily one of the top 3 GOAT nicktoons with hey arnold and OG rugrats.
Wtf’s going on with Nick Jr? Ever since they absorbed the lineup from the Noggin channel, they never show Franklin any more…and Nelvana won’t release any season box sets of that show, either.
lol shelby woo
I was just having this conversation with someone last night about how a good chunk of my “out of placeness” is probably based on the fact that i watched nickelodeon 24 hours a day as a kid, so 2 things have to be said.
The noozles, and the little bit and david the gnome and maya the bee were the shit and someone should be playing them somewhere. But at the same time they shouldn’t be steeping into nick at nite territory, hell it even makes me mad that they are showing shows from the 90s on there now.
You trying finding a kid born in the inner city in the 80s whose favorite shows as a kid were green acres get smart and the patty duke show.
BTW the three best nicktoons are the three original nicktoons
Doug, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaah Real Monsters…Too much good stuff.
But really now, I can’t believe I forgot about the cartoon that single handledly borked a generation: Kablam. Promethus and Bob > *
