What do we all think is the best Strange point team?

I really have no idea at this point.

He’s just too fun on point sometimes, it’s almost a crime to not play him there.

I’ve been playing Nova/ Strange/ Hawkeye for a while now and I feel this team is pretty strong. I like having Strange 2nd with an assist that can make his mixups scary. I need to figure out what the best TAC combo is for Strange because Nova’s TAC/ fake TAC game is so strong because of his corner carry ability. I’ve played Strange since day one and still don’t have the flames loops down(I’ve been trying off and on for about 4 months now), I haven’t been able to find a way to get it to work for me, or a starter that works for me. The IP loops have worked well for me though. Another great element to this team is the meter gain of Nova/ Strange. It makes it pretty easy to have a fully loaded Hawkeye, which is tough to get around.

That was actually one of my first Strange teams.

Nothing special, but a pretty solid team.

For TACs, just fly-unfly into FoF loops. The damage-- and more importantly, meter build-- are better than doing a standard TAC combo. Maybe you could also try DHCing from Gravimetric Blaster into 7 Rings at SJ height, since I think it causes soft knockdown. Might work.

Best team is Strange/Doom/Ammy or Strange/Doom/Akuma. I’d rather go with Ammy for the ‘knockdownless’ assist.

I’m getting the impression that ???/Dorm/Strange works with a ton of characters, and is a really interesting and viable shell, something like the ???/Doom/Vergil concept, but a lot more respectable…kinda.

Dorm likes bolts or eye, so take your pick (I go bolts every time, but that’s me). Tenboss’s recent team uses X-23 with the shell, I like Nemesis with it myself, and I feel it’s one of the stronger Haggar teams. Mags would probly be awesome in it too. Skrull as well. And Nova. Taskmaster definitely. Modok would adore it. Firebrand.

That’s all the ones I can think of in the course of 1 minute, all the ones who would be dirty, anyway.

So, 1. Who else do you think works in the shell? Because I’m seriously considering changing most of my teams to a few of my favourite point characters with 200% pillars backing them.

  1. Question on tech with the shell. Character 1 kills a dude, DHCs to Stalking flare, lay flame carpet, tag in strange, teleport H j.H, would that be an unblockable, and if so, DAY-UM.

Flame Carpet hits low? Huh, I didn’t know that.

Well yeah, thats how Dorm sets up his solo unblockables, you’ve never seen them be mentioned on stream or anything?

Anyway I picked up Strange a few days ago, stayed away from him because his mobility kinda scared me and his execution requirement, but after a day or two in the lab I have a basic FoF loop down and the meter build/damage is pretty ridiculous ( 2.5 bars and 900k-1m off a c.Lx3 confirm after SoV, I know I can extend the damage further but thats what i’ll stick with for now )

Not really sure what i’ll run with him, point feels way too risky for him, and i’d probably just waste his potential as an anchor by trying to derp it out with SoV spam. Really tempted to try Zero/Strange/Strider, Zero/Strange/Doom, Zero/Strange/Ammy and possibly Dorm/Strange/Doom. Too bad i’m a Zero main though, I don’t feel like Zero benefits from Stranges support that much.

Any top end Strange/Missile players out there? Starting from scratch here so I don’t really know any of his zoning patterns.

I really feel hard coping with Strange if I have to go against Mag/Sent or some other rushdown,
We should really prepare a gameplan based, on how to go after blocked string into IP

i am trying to work on mag strange doom but i am new to strange, i’ve gotten the loop down but i am having trouble figuring out how to do a full mag combo into dhc to strange consistently and going into the loop. anyone know?

what are some set ups for strange with doom assist when a new char comes in?

I have no idea about the mag/strange dhc, but when you only have Strange/Doom and a char is coming I’d say you have two choices: one, you can try to mix him up with EoA and teleports; or two, you set an EoA to lock him down, backwavedash, call Doom and start the neutral in a position of advantage.

The combo with Magnus needs to end with hyper grav in the air, then cancel into super, then before the super comes out cancel into rings.

FoF extension works from there.

Looking back, I thought this was just gonna be some gimmick I would never use. Oh how wrong I was. lol.

Anyone know if Viper/Slant can crumple setup into FoF loop? Just thought of it since I used Unblockable setups into FoF.

Nope, I tried. Only move she has that crumples is the EX thunder knuckle. But you cant get out of it in time to hard-tag into flame-loop. Only way would be with x-factor, but that also isnt worth it. :confused:

Im running strange on point and i do well against wolverine player atm… Strange, nova, and frank… I usually play lame until they run into an eoa or franks a assist then i take it from there… Building 3 meters is no problem and once strange is down i have a solid shell to work with… My frank is butt even at lv4-5… My nova is ok… My new strange team was chun, ammy, strange but my chun is supa ass

Yeah the only thing that’ll work to my knowledge is raw tag into SoV.

the timing is tight but you can still do strange FOF off of her ex thunder knuckle…very hard to do… its not really worth it due to her damage output especially with bolts assist she can just get 1mil damage off of one bar

what is your team? how are you getting two relaunchs after of a DHC whiff? its not viable or necessary imo

my bnb starting with a mighty hurricane H from midscreen to corner (starting with half a bar):
mighty hurricane H, s.H, smash M, cr.H, s.S, superjump forward, j.MMH, j.S, land, (grounddash forward if still not in the corner), smash H + call coldstar, charged strike H, air spark H, mighty tornado (you can mash it, no prob. 800k-820k damage at this point), raggador before of the last hit of mighty tornado, s.IP, flame, s.IP, slight delay, s.S, neutral superjump, j.IP at once, (flame, IP)x3, land, s.IP, flame, s.IP + call mighty spark M assist, slight delay, mystic sword H, slight delay, mystic sword H, Vishanti. 1230k damage.

Should kill another Thor (with 1250k damage) if you use charged strike H, charged strike L, spark M instead of charged strike H > spark H, but the timing gets more risky.

from the other basic Thor relaunch with charged smash H > smash M, etc you get about 1150k starting with a Thor cr.L; with an Ammy coldstar+thor j.L/cr.L confirm you get 1000k. So this team is actually a TOD machine if you do the combos right

Unfortunately my research about Firebrand/Strange has not been very successful >_> their DHC synergy is not good. I wish i could kill with Firebrand from any touch like i do with Thor

Im starting to think Dr Strange is as strong as Vergil in the second position. +400k damage after of a DHC with meter possitive combo extensions. Thats top tier team support :slight_smile:

Agreed. Even Storm can get meter positive kills with Strange/Doom off the Hailstorm into 7 Rings DHC. Trish’s Round Harvest is one of my favorite DHCs for Strange as well due to the ridiculous damage potential and unblockable setups. And hey, Strange isn’t as scummy as Vergil for those people who just don’t wanna play emo white boys lol.

Strange also gets legit welcome mixups with Peekaboo assist. Snapback -> call Trish, Teleport H, fly back, j.MMH~Palm xx unfly, land, Impact Palm for an ambiguous crossup, or snapback -> call Trish, Teleport M, wait, Teleport M, Impact Palm. Both lead into meter positive ToDs that kill Thor.
