shrug Meh , I dont remember : P. I only play online once in a blue moon. I hate lag , and I hate missing links or punishes because of it.
Vs Adon, FP zonk beats FP and EX jaguar tooth for free. I keep FP charged at all times… he’s also exceptionally easy to catch out of a jumping attack.
At least EX zonk kills jaguar kick, but everyone knew that already.
I also like to keep ex zonk charged for guiles that think sweep is a good idea, release after first kick of the sweep release your zonk for a nice surprise
HK ruffian trades in your favor against juris dive combo. I don’t know the timing to not trade…
In general codys floaty jump allows for a lot of auto correct, so careful with your timing.
I need a lot of tips with rufus, he destroys me so far… cannot figure a good way out of the pressure… ex messiah kick beats zonk, also careful of the frame trap after a tornado punch… ex messiah will get you there too
please post them notes son! My neighbor plays bison and i have to rely on counter picking him out of frustration cuz I just can’t seem to handle the bison pressure. I win like 3 out of 10. EVERY other character he uses I can beat constantly… his mains are vega and zangief and I can handle them just fine but BISON??? ugggggggggghhhh That’s not even his main and I get decimated.

I’m not sure if anyone already found this out but vs Ibuki LK RK and MK RK beat out neck breaker clean. full screen i normally throw rocks then fake rocks to bait neck breaker the LK RK to body it i really like LK RK something about that untechable knock down. :bgrin:

So it turns out that doing a meaty D-MK slide on Ryu makes Cody slide under Ryu’s Super if he tries reversaling with that.
Not really useless in the long run. But…
I’ll add that to win Vs. a good Bison you need to be face-to-face with Bison on every knockdown and either cross him up or safe jump on him making his options: block (use your mixup game with blockstrings/frametraps and throw game) teleport (ruffian kick/Ultra2 punishes this), waste meter with Psycho-Crusher (can be blocked with a safe jump in and punished if he’s going into a corner, and it can be completely avoided with a cross up)
VS Balrog
-Barlrogs will do 2 things regardless of who their opponent is: cr. Jab and Sweep. What does this mean to you? 1. Be on point with your pressure. Slop will only get you killed. 2. Be on point with your spacing. Slop will only get you killed.
-Standing LK, MK, MP will be your go to counter pokes.
-Properly spaced cr.MK is unpunishable by even the heartiest of cr.LP mashing. Very good tool to antagonize Rog.
-Use rocks to get him to jump. Your beat AA options are b.MP and cr.MK. Note that cr.MK is super consistent at beating Rog’s jumpins but there is the chance that you will him once he’s ground and you’ll end up right in his grill. I would suggest getting back to a more comfortable range.
-Keep the fight contained to the mid screen. You do not want to be cornered. If you do get cornered I can say only this: Take your time and pick your shots. If you get a chance to sneak a jab in be sure you make the most of it. Even if it’s blocked and you mash out about 4 or 5 jabs in a row use it as a chance to space yourself out.
-You can sneak in a surprising amount of jabs against a crouching Rog. Confirm city.
-EX Upper is a great anti tick option. Beats the throw clean and does pretty good against staggered jabs and such.
-Cr.MK beats out the 3 standard heabutts and makes the EX version whiff.
-Hold HP Zonks. HP is the least used normal in this match. Zonks counter dash punches except the low one. EX ZONK counters all.
-At closer ranges it is pretty easy to reversal Rog’s sweep with Ultra 2. Worth practicing IMO.
-The is fun in this match up. Not only does it let you do constant chip damage, but it also gives you the chance to punish sloppier dash punches with Knife LP>cr. LK>Rufiian.
I got to play against Vic the Slik’s Bison and have some input for that match up. Annoying but not impossible.

Random observations:
Fwd.HK knocks Dictator out of his U2. I tried a bunch of normals and Fwd.HK worked best as it moves forward and his leg stays out for quite sometime. Only problem is crossup U2 and being at the very TIP of the U2’s range.
Bad spray loses to Akuma’s hcbP fireball.
Nice info, didn’t know U2 punishes sweep. But does anyone know what moves beat out sweep? Zonk gets stuffed by lows, ex Zonk is unsafe, Cody’s sweep has bad recovery, RKs are unsafe, cr.mk, st. lk, st. mk, f. hk are all 1 hitters, and are risky vs turtle rog with ex meter due to armor, cr. mp has shorter range. F. hp hits twice but it’s slow, if Rog see’s it, you’re gonna eat big damage if he jumps in.
I’m thinking knife would be useful to help his poke game. Does anyone know if j. hp with knife beats Rog’s cr. hp? It’s hard to jump in against that unless you crossup, but it’s hard gaining position due to slow ass walk speed.
Are you sure ex CU beats low jabs free? I tried messing around with it vs Chun’s cr.lk, cr.lp and I get stuffed at times, other times I straight beat it. I suggest starting a thread about it’s properties…seeing how he loses up close. Cody’s needs a get off me move.

– vs. Guile
-If you’re near, I don’t think Guile has any answer for cr.mk if he’s holding back. It goes under booms and it might slide under Hurricane if you’re close enough (needs testing). If he’s holding DB, I think Flash is the only move that can beat it. But I believe that’s risky considering recovery time vs cr.mk’s speed. Sweep might beat it as well, but it’s also risky, and slow. Just look out for focus.

-ex RK from fullscreen to get passed booms. If it hits, it hits. If you whiff, you’re closer. Just make sure you don’t get hit trying to through
– vs. Blanka
-vs. U2 ground full screen…jump fwd the first pound, RK before the second. If you’re closer, just jump and punish before the 2nd pound
-time your focus against slide, it can whiff
What bout blanka
LDD doesn’t punish Balrog’s sweep. Rog’s sweep is -6 on block.
Against blanka I like to fake rock to bait a slide and combo his lame ass.
Of all the characters I use, I have the easiest time beating blanka with cody. Ultra 2 is easy to dodge (it doeas a ton of chip), don’t get near him during ultra 1, you’ll get sucked in.
Try your best to stay grounded, sliding will at least mess up his combos you may still eat a jump attack though.
MK RK trades with ball in your favor. EX RK punishes blocked ball.

Push him to the corner and apply that pressure.
Ryu’s LP DP is pretty easily countered with cr. HP xx HP Upper for higher damage, but against Ken’s I’d go with c.lk xx MK Ruff just for the relatively higher safety of it.
With ryu… depending on the spacing you would you be able cr fp, ex rocks into U2?
