See, and I could be wrong on Mago and Ojiisan-Boy even being in the tournament, since I don’t remember seeing their names, but I wasn’t really looking for them at the time. However, I know for a fact that Daigo was knocked out before top 8.
What about Momochi? Did he play in the tourney?
Maybe the two Sagat pros didn’t make that tourney?
I just wish there was a player list of who was in the tourney and who beat who. Seems the Korean version of that tourney has more info.
Here’s the list of the finalists that played for the top 8 spots:
But the picture is too small to really see the names.
interesting thanks
Sorry for bumping this without a new vid, but I had a question most pertinent here I guess. While Momochi is playing footsies or whatever with Diago in this vid:

Not so much the first round but every round after that both players, especially Momochi sometimes throw out empty jabs, before a fireball or in a situation that could require one. Just wondering if they are prepping it for the negative edge, or are they just poking around trying to get the other guy to twitch into something punishable?
I know these guys aren’t just messing up an input, and sorry for the overanalyzing, but these vids are a godsend to relative noobs like myself. Thanks to everyone for linking them up.
I’d like to know about the empty jabs as well. And can you negative edge a hadou?
yeah…
Bait to jump.
You can negative edge a fireball, as with most things.
It’s been a while (Since I don’t main Akuma anymore) But tonight or tomorrow i’m gonna update the 1st post with all the great vids posted here.
nice, ty.
Should really check out Poongko from Korea.
He’s just commentating as he is playing on PSN, so he isn’t playing the best players, but still has an impressive super rushdown Akuma.

He is good, but apparently he cannot hang versus the top level JP players.
I have heard statements that the playstyle in Korea tends to favor the flashy, big combos over smarter, more defensive play.
It will be interesting to see if he can compete on an international level.
We’ll find out next week when Japan, Korea, and the USA clash together!
That should be awesome.
I would love to see S. Korea and the USA able to really give Japan a run for its money.
But the deck is stacked in favor of Japan…they have hundreds of SF4 arcade machines in Japan versus a fraction of that in the US…I have no idea what the numbers for S. Korea are.

lol @ ex air fb -> tk ex air fb 4 hit combo
I visited Japan in december, and the average level of play in arcades was light years ahead of the average level in our arcades even now 4 months later. That doesn’t mean their top players are better than ours, but it sure doesn’t bode well.
More from K66, this guys awesome:
