all of infiltrations matches were one sided all weekend long… from the tournament matches to the after hour matches… he played so unbelievable… he landed a demon almost every round in the grand finals…
You gotta be at least somewhat hyped by Infiltration’s play. Because DAMN, that man was playing posssessed.
Like i said earlier this dudes reactions are just insane. If you can anti air demon at will that just makes akuma so much more dangerous. Btw thanks to infiltration for killing the A.E hype by just bodying everyone , that fact that ae was on so late didn’t help either.
I’m glad Akuma took it this year but wow, I was rooting for Tokido and Daigo as well who got sent home like it was nothing. And that Infiltration vs Daigo match. Demoning a sweep, I think the only other time I saw that was that online match with Tokido and him. Holy fuuuuuck this guy.
LOL at all the akuma haters claiming he’s op and needs to be nerfed. When will people realize it’s the player that matters not the character you use.
After watching EVO top 8, no, he has not always been this good. He’s always been really fucking good. Definitely top 8 material and won tournaments when the Japanese didn’t attend. But he’s on another level right now. After all the beat downs he has delivered to one top player after another whether it was a money match or the main tournament, I think you have to say that he’s one step above the rest of the elites in SF4 right now.
Well now we know for certain that Akuma/Ryu is about being the better shoto and it is not in favor of either. We finally got to see how the match plays out when the Akuma player has footsies on the level of Daigo.
Or is, you know, a possessed fiend from the depths of Hell vs. Daigo’s friend. Still. Dear god, how on point can someone be? Everyone just looked so free. But to pretend Daigo was on form is just wrong.
Post a link to a video guyz, Hurrryyyyyy
That was the most amazing thing about his play was that he won with mostly solid play. Not this omg i have to get a knock down and vortex that 99% of akumas players try to do. This shows that you can zone and play solid footsies with akuma and win and not have to rely on vortex.
I have never seen anyone play so perfectly. Infiltration has transcended humanity.
Well I think the point of Akuma is that he gets to do a little bit of everything. Zoning, footsies and wake up pressure. Watching Infiltration you can see in his play that he does a bit of each. The interesting thing is how often his rudimentary vortex hit. His vortex is still way behind Tokido, but because he spends so much of the match playing footsies and zoning that it catches you off guard. In an odd way his vortex is more effective because he has you thinking of other things.
got it : http://fr.twitch.tv/srkevo1/b/324184488
And about the akuma styles, it was against Ruy, you can footsies if the other one want to. Against other chars it’s a real advantage to use setups.
No vortex on 3f reversal now, (but tell this to -6 and his godlike palm whiff cross ups… he just don’t care and it works) so better have solid footsies. Ragin demon is an awesome tool on footsies to punish sweep punishes. Nothing new.
I was waiting for someone to reply with this; but honestly? Daigo seems to either be slowing down, or everyone else is just picking up steam (coupled with the age difference). This was nowhere near Daigo’s best playing.
Also, I’m kind of laughing a little bit over a past comment I made when everyone was crying about how Akuma was suddenly “broken” when the palm was no longer an overhead and the forward throw had the two frames added. I talked about winning with just fundamentals or playing somewhat like older Momochi and was told that it doesn’t really work anymore. It’s not exactly the same, but Infiltration’s use of vortex was already mentioned.
I agree , and if Infiltration get’s his vortex/options selects on the same level as Tokido that would be scary.
That’s just straight up bullshit. A week earlier Daigo was dominating in the pre Evo Tiato station tourney with incredible footsies and reads. Suddenly he goes from domination and in rare form to “he’s losing it”. That is just an excuse, Daigo was playing fine.
The fact of the matter is you look good when you are winning and you look bad when you are losing. Daigo lost and he looked bad, not that he is bad, just that Infiltration was that much better. Infiltration made everybody look like they were “slowing down”.
Everybody wasn’t crying about that. I have no idea what you are talking about.
For sure Daigo didn’t saw the focus forward coming… who does it ? and several times. Damn that was brilliant at shutting down the Beast.
Best part is Infiltration only did it when Daigo had no meter and early in the set. He basically won a round from it and then went to other strats because now Daigo was aware and would adjust his game. Textbook example of keeping your game varied to prevent the opponent from catching on.
QFT… infiltration just made daigo look like he wasnt on his game…infiltration was a step ahead the entire match… their was just no way he was gonna lose he was in the zone…
