The fireball has to be predicted, you can’t simply do it when you see it (especially in Sagat’s case). It’s a bit tricky, but if someone’s attempting to lock you down with projectiles it shouldn’t be too difficult.

I guess it’s harder to get between Viper’s legs than everyone thought. Weird.
SFIV has wonky hit boxes. 3S had better hit detection than this game. I guess it’s the 3d thing.
It’s still a 2D game, just a 3D background. There are no moves that put you “into the background” a la GG Isuka, that video is just crazy strange.
I heard that halfway through development Capcom realized that 3d hit boxes weren’t going to work, so they switched to 2d ones. Obviously they didn’t have enough time to comprehensively test the 2d hit boxes, hence the wonkyness.

EightBit totally wasn’t into the matches, and was just doing it to pass time. We still had some nice fights though regardless. I have experienced the same thing against Viper just last Thursday. I say a couple of crouching attacks whiff against moves that had no invincibility.
